Thanks Geoff, and yes I love the stock to. Sets the rifle off a treat I think. And yeah poor Charlie 😂. But in all honesty I admire the fox lot, it's a good looking animal, very clever and learns quickly if you miss when you shoot at it. It's just the damage they do is their downfall mate. Still until they learn otherwise I will keep at it 😁
Thanks mate and if I'm honest I have had it for quite a while but not used it much I prefer to squeak using my hand. But the aerial in the remote broke on the second trip out and I was lucky as they gave me a replacement remote 😂
Hey Jim, There is a new switch panel out for the Stellar and Alpex. I featured it on a video I did a month or so ago. Raised buttons with a separator bar between the buttons, a bit like the Mercedes grille badge. David.
🤣🤣 yeah I know but trust me Mick if it ran off I would have edited that clip 😂😂 but seriously I don't mind showing the ones I miss unlike other youtubers. Everyone misses mate even me 😁
Great video, I'm trying to decide on which thermal to purchase. How do these traditional scope styled thermals (such as the stellar & Thermion) compare with the modern style such as the Hikmicro Thunder & Panther?
Firstly thanks for watching 👍 I have not tried the thunder but there is a new version of it on the market the thunder 2 and apparently its meant to be be really good. I'm hoping to try it out soon. Personally from all the thermals I've tried and I'm currently testing the new pulsar thermion duo I would say the stellar sq50 has the best picture quality from the ones I've used. It's not cheap though around £3000 but have a shop around. That would be my goto thermal scope at the moment in my opinion but other people I speak say the pulsar thermion 2 xp50 is a great scope as well but I haven't used that either. The panther I tested is good and has a built-in LRF so check out my video on that one. But I would say only out to 150 yards using base mag because when you zoom in it gets blurry, and the battery life isn't as good as they say it is. So definitely the Stellar sq50 for me. Hope this helps.
Another awesome video Jim mate!!!! A++++++++++ just out of interest what ranges were these vulpines taken at? Curious of the detail at longer ranges etc etc Keep up the good work bud!!
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it. The longest one was only 150 yards which was the cub sat in the hedge the rest were between 70 and 120 yards so not that far really. I try to shoot them out to 150 yards using the thermal because I don't have to make any adjustments just point and shoot. Thanks for watching mate 👍
@@jimwood Totally respect that choice mate...ethical! Just wondered as the clarity of the foxes and rabbits were very good even after being played on a large screen like RUclips!
Yeah I know what you mean, when you watch video's on youtube the clarity isn't always good but with this scope it is. And it's even better when you look through it. A cracking bit of kit.
Good vid thanks for sharing jim👍
Cheers Gary thanks for watching mate 👍
I'm drooling over xg50lrf with ballistics...
But..happy enough with xm50 (5.5 base mag)
Lovely to see thermal foxing success.
Yeah I would like to have a go with that one to. But this sq50 is awesome. Thanks for watching 👍

Thanks mate and yes cut fields are great but they soon grow again. Have to make the most of it while they are short.
Another excellent video Jim, well done. The stock on your rifle is amazing. Poor Charlie, everyone is out to get him. LOL

@@jimwood thanks for your comprehensive reply, which form factor do you prefer? The tradition scope style or the more modern style Thermals?
@anthacdc personally I prefer the traditional style scope. Some modern day scopes do look nice but to me a traditional style takes some beating.
