I mean late game in single player, there's no reason why you shouldn't be building space marines, or just put a single heavy tank/modern tank in your good infantry divs (while removing line arty), and watch as the AI divs crumble because of the way armour and piercing work in game.
yeah, same. I have more fun watching it than actually playing it. I find HoI to be probably the least up my alley out of the Paradox games, so I haven't really ever gotten into it even though I own it
