- David Wall is the current custodian of the famous '67 Mustang raced by Pete Geoghan in 1967, 68 & 69. "There not much use having a race car that sits in a museum, we're all about racing the cars.
"Back in the day...Pete was the only guy to win three championships in a row in the same car, same driver."
Beautiful.. thanks for looking after such a momentous race car... I have vivid memories of watching from the flag marshals station approaching the causeway at Warick Farm as a 14 year old.. and down at creek corner diving onto the brakes...
The last win was a series!
I was a young teen in around 69.My mate was talking to one of the well know drivers at the time. He ranked Pete Geoghan as one of the top 10 drivers in the world at that time .He was a big bloke couldn’t fit into Leo’s Brabham. From what I saw that driver was 100 percent right. That Mustang was quick too, probably not as quick as Moffats or Beechys Monaro, but still won many races.
I found my new favourite automotive channel, only to find out they've stopped uploading for 4 years
Is there any onboard racing footage of this car?
We went up to lakeside in 1970 to see pete's mustang and norm beechy in the 350 monaro do their thing what an experience ... + getting out of lakeside in those days after watching the speedsters ... you could have walked out quicker
incredible vid man! seriously underrated channel!
Thanks Brad.
Is CarTorque Series 3 going to happen?? Love this channel so much not least since I've got an XY and Charger!
Hi Mick, we are currently in discussions around funding for a third series of CarTorque. Will keep you posted hopefully with some good news soon.
nice car nice vid. keep up the great work.
Hi I'm in America is it for sale !! I would like to buy this vehicle!@
You would never be able to buy this car . It’s a sort of National Treasure Pete Geoghan was an absolute legend of Australian Motor Sport.
No chance yank!
How much horsepower at wheel. What's engine and specs.
the engine is a 302
@@roscoefilms it started as a 289. It was upgraded around 69 to a 302.
@@beagle7622 Yes, that's what I said as the car in the video is the 1969 ATCC car
@@roscoefilms it’s just I remember it being a 289. I think he may have upgraded after Moffat introduced the 302 in his car, can you enlighten. That car looked gorgeous in its day. They had some fantastic races & some action in the pits. I never understood why Beecher did it , he was always angry, but I think he may have enjoyed the racing. I remember them ripping a water pump off another Holden in the paddock.
@@beagle7622 The 289 and 302 are same block, I know that because I own a 65 289, and had the option for the 302, it was constantly upgraded almost every race and was bored out in later years
It may have won 3 championships but, those titles were single race events, not national series events.
