That boarded building for many years was a food and drink and venue hire, also a night club round the side called Jordan's. I used to rave there in the 90s and also DJ'd at it. Sad to see it like that.

Went to Bell Baxter for about 6 months in 1982. Just started 1st year and had to move away . Didn’t half miss the friends I met. Was back in early 90s tho working the door at Watts ( Jordan’s ) nightclub 👌💙

Watts the Seed Merchant building was originally the old gaol (jail). When I grew up in Cupar, it was a nightclub and restaurant

I like the way you read all those information signs. Btw that river (Eden) was the first river I caught a trout in. It was a biggie.
When I get bored I watch Ginger Man with a Cam. Brightens up my day!

    Thanks for a great film!
I've lived in Cupar for nearly 15 years. Two things about the place make me laugh:
The defibrillator on the wall of Fisher & Donaldson, the home of the fudge donut :D
The street sign for North Burnside which has (Burnside North opposite) underneath. Look across the road to see the sign for Burnside North and it says (North Burnside opposite) underneath, haha.

    RE: Impressive building labelled 'WATT'
In 1813, the tollbooth on Crossgate (which you confused with the Cupar Burgh Chambers) was proving insufficient, records stating that the current building "obstructs the principal street and is too small." Thus it was demolished and, between 1811 and 1814, a new jail was erected on the corner Coal Road leading to Station Road (originally intended for the site of the current war memorial).
Its use as a prison was, however, not long-lived, as by 1888 drawings show the prison was being used as stores for the 4th Brigade of the Scottish Division of the Royal Artillery. Not long after, in around 1892, the building was acquired by William Watt, a seedmerchant, who then used the building as storehouses for his goods. His name remains an integral part of the building's appearance and character to this day.
In the early 1990s, Watt's business was presumably long gone and the building was converted into a bar, restaurant, and nightclub, which was in business until very recently. Now, the building is up for auction as the owners put it up for sale, evicting the previous tenants who now run No. 10 on the Crossgate I believe.
One of the old jail cells under the pub still remains, and for a period an exhibition of the archive of local historian Steve Penrice was hosted there.

I almost forgot how funny the Fife accent is. Sing song and weird inflections where O sounds become I sounds and no T’s pronounced. Makes for some funny dialogue. 🤣
