      Made this rice today. My friend makes the rice this way, she said it’s the quick easy way. Her Mom makes it a little different with tomato paste, olives, and she makes her own Sofrito. I’m so happy to find your quick and easy recipe. My rice was so delicious.

People have so many different unique ways of making it and they are all so yummy 🤗 I totally think homemade sofrito is so much better than the frozen one. Since I like to keep things quick and simple I I made a video a while ago with a super quick and simple way to make it.

    Hi I don't eat pork what can I use to substitute?

    • @JoyfulYessi
      @JoyfulYessi  3 года назад

      Absolutely! You can use beef hot dogs instead like Nathan’s Famous, small diced chicken or you can choose to not use the meat at all. I’ve Made this before with out using meat before. For the flavor packet, they also sell beef or chicken flavor instead of the ham flavor. It’ll have a different taste but still will be tasty 🙂

    I’m confused about the water. I thought if you use 4 cups of rice you’re soppose to use 6 cups of water??

    • @JoyfulYessi
      @JoyfulYessi  3 года назад +2

      Good question! I use medium grain rice, so the amount of water I use is always equal to the amount of rice I use. Some people might change the water measurement if the use a different grain like long grain. 🙂

    How come I see people cook it for 55 minutes and this video is only 15 minutes? I'm just asking I wanna perfect this dish?

    • @JoyfulYessi
      @JoyfulYessi  3 года назад +2

      That’s a very good question 🙂 people have so many different ways to make this. I think the amount of rice and the grain of rice you use plays a role on that. My mom uses long grain, and she cooks her’s much longer than I do. I always use medium grain. Also if people are making more rice I think it would take longer to cook. It always amazes me how many different ways people make this. For me, Once the liquids soak up, I give it one good stir cover it for 15 min come back and it’s done 🤗 keeping in mind that while it’s boiling, the rice is also cooking before it’s covered. If I left it up to 55 min, I think my rice will burn lol

    • @caglrz2183
      @caglrz2183 2 года назад

      My rice gets done in 20-25. I use boiling water, that is why 8t cooks quicker
