Hope you're still loving the 2855. :-) A couple of quick notes from a former 2855 owner: check the bilge pump to make sure it works. Mine was burned out and didn't work. It was impossible for me to remove (don't have your skillset) as it was directly under the engine. It was easy to add a new bilge pump in a low spot, wire it up and good to go. Check the holding tank vent twice a year. Bugs nest in the tube and can clog it. Clear it with compressed air or a shopvac. If your depth gauge is off, they can be set with a clearance factor. I would set ours to show 8 feet as zero depth, as shorelines rise quickly here and I wanted an early alarm. Check the rubber bellows every trip for cracks and leaks. Water leaking in there will ruin your outdrive. Finally, if you want/need navigation I downloaded software to my iPad that is awesome. When launching and pulling the boat out, back the trailer into the water a little more so you don't have to use the motor much to get the boat on the trailer. It will save your rollers/carpet on the trailer.

5:15 A bit of advice, before loading back the trailer far enough to wet the boards then pull ahead to desired location (make sure you don’t exceed the concrete & drop off the end) wetting the boards will basically lubricate & help load easier, especially with a boat that size.
I love that you two are so appreciative of the good things that you have in your lives! Just watching you gives me a boost.... could you bottle some of it??!!
Anyone who’s owned a boat saw your previous video and thought, “Can’t wait time see them make the same mistake I did!” Unfortunately for the viewers you guys nailed it. “Great deal on that boat!” Is a pretty rare comment. P.S. Your family is adorable. Have fun!
Great job and nicely edited! Just a pointer on starting an engine when its out of the water. Always hook up the garden hose with water, even if its only a quick start. You don't need water for engine cooling, but you do need it for lubricating the water impeller that's inside the lower unit. The rubber impeller will melt almost immediately if it doesn't have water to lube/cool it.
You guys are doing an awesome job,i love the way you work together. I'm so happy for you .You're such positive happy people ,wish you all the best ,from Canada.

It's not the boat, Which is sweet and well worth the price, it's you. You are a natural at "hosting". The fact that you can get your hands dirty and do it like a pro is a bonus.
About every other tankful, you might wanna consider putting high test gas in your boat that way to clean the injectors out a lot better did the injector cleaner goodbye from an auto parts place
I am enjoying watching your adventures and attitudes. Love it. I would recommend using a forged structural shouldered eyebolt for the trailer tie down rather than the non-structrual kind that's not a joined circle.
I’ve owned boats my whole adult life and spent a lot of time on them. (Nothing this big but it’s the same stuff just bigger.) I like everything you guys are doing. And keeping the maintenance is a must. Especially when trailering. Keep it up and don’t worry about the haters. I’m jelly myself. But negative feedback won’t help. I’m very happy for you guys. Love the videos.
Oh. And when trailering, at least in Ohio, an easy tension strap under the outdrive or a like minded product is safer. Especially since the o-rings in the hydraulic pumps for the trim and tilt can pop and the outdrive sags and drags. And skegs are hard to fix and bolt on replacements can throw the balance off. Basically you end up needing a new outdrive housing. Happy boating!!
You can send the injectors out to be cleaned professionally places like Mr Injector cleans them and flow test them and replaces all the filters, o rings, spacers and pintle caps and they come back brand new
Advice for trailer depth: I've always found to get the front of the bunks just at the water level or an inch out of the water, that'll largely depend on your trailer, launch ramp angle, and boat hull design, but that rule of thumb has worked for me on jetskis, ski boats, cabin cruisers, pontoons, houseboats, literally anything that floats that I have worked on.

When changing out trailer receiver hitch balls, turn the hitch horizontal in the receiver pending on tighten or loosing so that your always pushing the wrench down. Makes the job much safer & easier. Good video!
7:18 when towing you do want you hitch & related equipment ratings to exceed the weight of what you’re towing. When you hit bumps it can shock load & that energy is absorbed through the hitch. It also appears that trailer has hydrostatic brakes. That F450 can tow it but it needs help stopping it. Check/change that fluid & I suggest adding bearing buddies to easily grease the wheel bearings. If it doesn’t already have them.
Definitely keep the other props for emergency spares! I would highly suggest you redo the rear tie down strap bolts and put the eye bolts into the metal frame of the trailer. A boat that size could tear those eye bolts out of the wood if it shifted.
at 7:54; try turning the hitch receiver 90-degrees and re-inserting it into the truck. 90 left makes your wrench movement top-down when taking off the ball. 90 right makes it easy top-down to tighten the nut fully (since you can stand on the wrench)
Dang, just as I was typing a suggestion to strap the boat down, you mentioned it. Good job. Guide poles on the rear of the trailer may help as well on windy days.
Having pulled my Ranger Tug from Michigan to Florida and back for 9 years (sometimes twice a year) I change the tires every third year no matter how good they look. Never had a flat. All the guys at my marina down there that also pull tell me I'm wasting money. Every single one of them has had at least one adventure on the road, at night, in the rain, semis rocketing by at 70 mph. You did the right thing. I hope your year went well.

Great Job you two. It's refreshing to see a couple work together on rebuilding electrical mechanical items. I hope you enjoy your boat ( and each other ). Have fun!
I always had waterproof led lights on my trailer and still found i was blowing fuses in the truck. So anytime i go to launch I unplug the trailer and no problems since. Love the channel!
Depends if you have trailer brakes or not. If you unplug the plug you can't back up the boat to launch it cause the brakes will lock up theres a switch in the wiring that unlocks the brakes in reverse allowing you to back up
@@nathanbutler8240 an electric trailer brake uses power to apply the brakes, not to release them. A surge brake will lock in reverse if you don't manually override it with the lever.
@@robertpontius1689 my mistake I have hydraulic brakes on my trailer if my plug isn't plugged in i can't back up cause it pushes on the master cylinder on the trailer and locks the brakes unless the electrical is plugged into the truck

You're probably aware of this already but, I would recommend an anchor alarm app to monitor if your anchor slips during the night and also the Navionics app. Really enjoy the videos 😋
Maybe out in the ocean, but a lake I wouldn't see the need. Lakes are full of mud and shit so anchors tend to hold a lot better than they will in sand or coral.
Yeah I'm with you on the tires but the scenario where you have a blowout on the interstate pulling that behemoth would cost way more than all of those tires
One tire blowout you would be fine. Enough to get to somewhere safe. Old tires that have been sitting with weight.. no good. Did that on a RV.. lost all of them one by one.
Look into portable a/c units if needed. What’s good about the A/c can put your unit or hose into your tent for cool nights. Good boat lines for what ever your needs may be. You are doing great so hang in there with the armchair Captain. Extra parts and tools are good to have with you.❤❤❤❤

Wow...congratz with your purchase! And yes...I must agree with some of the other comments...girl...you have the right attitude for boating. Your man is one lucky dude. Not many of you out there...I only know two of you...the other one is my best-half....hehe.
We wishing you both endless days & nights of fun in the sun. Be safe and take care.

When launching and pulling the boat out, back the trailer into the water a little more so you don't have to use the motor much to get the boat on the trailer. It will save your rollers/carpet on the trailer.
Having served in The U.S. Coast Guard I'd like to help you out with your safety needs. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will give you free safety inspections if you look up your local Auxiliary Unit and call them. Great buy and beautiful boat. Happy boating guys!
Bryan Wheeler Thank you so much, Bryan!!
@@flyingsparksgarage It would even be cool if you guys did an on camera inspection with the coast guard, it could be vary informative.
That is an awesome offer from Bryan all right. You will be boarded one day by the lake patrol for a little "safety inspection".
Bryan. Don’t forget your PPE and PFD and your 70000000 form to diraux for VE approval. At least in 5NR.
I just started watching y'alls videos and I must say I really enjoy them. Also, I don't care what anyone says, for $6,250ish dollars that is an incredible boat to have. Really great find!
Thanks so much!!!! We’re so grateful for this boat and for all the folks like you that enjoy watching our adventures!!!
I just want to say I love your guys positive attitude in a world where people are so critical you guys are upbeat and very positive and the world needs more people like you
Sure do appreciate your comment!!

As an old boater I am VERY happy you are taking our advice. Have a great vacation!
5:15 A bit of advice, before loading back the trailer far enough to wet the boards then pull ahead to desired location (make sure you don’t exceed the concrete & drop off the end) wetting the boards will basically lubricate & help load easier, especially with a boat that size.
This has to be in the top five of my favourite buyer/finder videos. Perfect👍
Hat off to those that are mechanically inclined. She probably likes all the manly thingies like hunting, fishing, football & MMA. Lucky guy.
Have fun!
i want ya'll to pick my next lotto numbers...you got a hell of a deal...many happy boating days!
They got lucky by working hard.
It's great to see such a positive happy woman.
This guy is awesome...mad skills and a great wife! I wish he was my neighbor!
100% correct. they stick and rip in a single turn
Exactly.
yep! i was thinkin the same thing
You guys are doing an awesome job,i love the way you work together. I'm so happy for you .You're such positive happy people ,wish you all the best ,from Canada.

I've been a fan for years. So good to see a happy couple do something fun together on such a constant basis. So beautiful ♥️
The boat is so heavy it's not going to bounce off the trailer it will bust off the wood pad
It's not the boat, Which is sweet and well worth the price, it's you. You are a natural at "hosting". The fact that you can get your hands dirty and do it like a pro is a bonus.
It is a pleasure to watch you two work as a team. Bless you guys.
In addition to just simply enjoying your content, I like how you acknowledge comments.
About every other tankful, you might wanna consider putting high test gas in your boat that way to clean the injectors out a lot better did the injector cleaner goodbye from an auto parts place
nothing wrong with the boat, and keep enjoying life with family. God bless y"all
I am enjoying watching your adventures and attitudes.
You can send the injectors out to be cleaned professionally places like Mr Injector cleans them and flow test them and replaces all the filters, o rings, spacers and pintle caps and they come back brand new
79tazman We have sent injectors off before- we only had a few days though 🤓
Bring or rent some bikes???
Advice for trailer depth: I've always found to get the front of the bunks just at the water level or an inch out of the water, that'll largely depend on your trailer, launch ramp angle, and boat hull design, but that rule of thumb has worked for me on jetskis, ski boats, cabin cruisers, pontoons, houseboats, literally anything that floats that I have worked on.
In 1983, my wife & I drove from Wisconsin down to Lake Ouachita on our honeymoon & camped along the shore & sailed in an 11 ft Snark. Fell in love with the Ozarks & have been back many times since. Love your videos.
I think ya'll got a good deal on the boat . It's always so refreshing to hear such positive words from You two .I hope you have a wonderful time on your camping trip and catch some fish with the kids
Hi guys I'm from Toronto, Canada and I bumped into your segment of you buying your boat.what a great big chance that is to take but it worked and am soo happy for you guys . Getting the boat to work and Cleaned up just put you in a better place financially and you know what that is.I hope to keep following you and also a great big shout out to you as well thanks for putting a smile on my face to see things work out for you...your new subscriber Elvis.

I bought a 21 ft Bayliner Cuddy a few years back, cleaned it up, changed the plugs and starter , spent all summer on it and then sold it for twice what I paid. BTW at 1:14 Cherry is the best flavor of Bubbly! Product placement. She's such a great deal.. oh, yeah the boat too.
don't listen to the naysayers. They're sitting home watching reruns of F troop, while you guys are enjoying your life and boating.
Couldn't said it better. The smiles on there face say it all.
What a beautiful boat. Love what you guys do .Enjoy.
Love to see this couple... respectful and cheering each other
Thanks buddy 🙏🏼💕
I’ve always strapped all my boats down on the back like that. Good call adding those hold down straps
Too right, boats should be strapped, 12' or 120'. Gravity is only useful when you're working with it, once things start to go sideways gravity ain't always your buddy.
I have towed my 22 ft..with no strap's 1,500 miles straight..no problem..I don't think y'all need them strap's.but your call.i have never ever had an issue...in 15 years .. hauling that boat around...
Great boat by the way..very pretty wife.. supportive...you guys go man go...👍👍👍👍
@@DonCatherman well I experienced the bad side of not strapping the boat down. Went maybe 50 miles and found the boat sitting on it's side. Went to an auto shop and they hooked onto the outdrive and lifted up the boat so we could reposition it. 20 foot boat. It was pouring down rain when we pulled it out and decided to skip it. Well it didn't work out for us. But, I see people pulling boats all the time without tie straps and I guess don't have a problem. So who knows, I always strap my Malibu surf boat down for sure. Straps are built into the trailer. Happy trailering.
@@bryanhays7753 guess it's luck ..idk..my boat is 22 ft.cuddy..
Heavy.....deep v...never had it move an inch..towed it from NY to Mississippi.. Mississippi to Tennessee...20 years of good luck.
Never having any problem..
Now I better strap it if I take it 2 Mile's....lol..the mouth God's will get me if don't...now.lol...bummer you had that happen man...hope all is well today....
The two of you guys are blessed to have each other I love this show cheers from Jacksonville Florida
When changing out trailer receiver hitch balls, turn the hitch horizontal in the receiver pending on tighten or loosing so that your always pushing the wrench down. Makes the job much safer & easier. Good video!
Dude you hit the JACKPOT!!! With this beautiful women!! Love watching your adventures.... keep em coming!
Au 787 , yes he did this man is very , very wealthy , and I think he realizes it .

I love the way u 2 support each, complement each other.. love u guys!!
Cover the trailer tires. They’ll stay crack free longer! Have fun..
And you might want to buy said wheel locks for those pretty aluminum wheels you got
That Doggy is living the good life😅
When working outside on the lawn I usually put an old sheet or blanket under the wheel I'm working on. You won't loose any small parts.
And a sandy soil is never a good mix for lubricated parts.
at 7:54; try turning the hitch receiver 90-degrees and re-inserting it into the truck. 90 left makes your wrench movement top-down when taking off the ball. 90 right makes it easy top-down to tighten the nut fully (since you can stand on the wrench)
This was so endearing and enjoyable to watch. Amazing job guys.
Dang, just as I was typing a suggestion to strap the boat down, you mentioned it. Good job. Guide poles on the rear of the trailer may help as well on windy days.
As you get old and look back at your life working together will shine brighter than anything else. It's what it's all about. IMO.
Great job on the boat!! You two are fun to watch! All The Best to you both!!
Seem like some very good folks. Hope you all enjoy yourselves!
Love how he drives the boat. Like hes driving a car. I was the exact same way when I got my first boat. Scared as shit. I feel u my friend.

"Good job Aaron'' I love it when she says that
Great Job you two.
Love the channel!
good tip
I've always done the same. Waterproof lights or not.
Good Move with the trailer tires, I'm a pro driver, I pass alot of people hauling trailers, on the side of the Highway...wishing they were somewhere else...
Have a great time watching you two !!!Great personalities and people we wish we knew...Great Job and keep being honest

When you park the trailer jack the axles up and get tires off ground. They will last a lot longer.
Do you own any trailers? No one does that.
And cover them with plywood cutouts so the sun doesn't beat down on them just sitting there
Noah Smith maybe they should...
@@rstrst2099 yes or the nylon covers are a good investment. Sunlight [Ultraviolet rays] are to plastic and rubber as saltwater is to metals.
@@noahlearsmith yes they do when stored for longer periods. Do you own any trailers?
In 2006 wife and I bought a 38 ft Chris craft in downtown Washington DC, with live-aboard status for 40,000. Lived on it for 10 years. Loved every minute of it.
@@codylapoint no body anchors in coral you won't get it back. Any anchor can slip in a strong wind. Better safe on the water than being wise after.
Extra parts and tools are good to have with you.❤❤❤❤
I just recently discovered your channel my first episode was part one of the boat purchase. Love the adventure!
