    Mans dropping absolute gems and people in the early comments are complaining about the type of beat LOL. Take the lesson and apply it to the kind of beat you want to make. This guy is an absolute treasure and yet people still have to find a complaint. Thanks so much for your continued tips and hard work Marlow!

    Hands down the best boom bap / sample based education channel on RUclips, no question.
    I still use Marlow’s pad 1 sample chopping technique on a DAILY basis, (add midi bar to play pad 1 + play drum loop in background, move sampler start slider while repeatedly hitting play until you find a good sound -> copy pad1 to pad 2 -> find new sample on pad 1, copy to 3 etc) easily the most useful workflow thing I’ve learned.
    Now I need to work on layering!

    I appreciate you showing this. I always get stuck in the 8 bar loop. And often times stay in my own head looking for the perfect transition to the next sequence. In the end I get stuck with just that 8 bar loop.

    I really like your videos and your workflow. As a beginner in beat making, I have a habit of listening to records when I'm not making beats. When I find a good record, I really want to extract and organize the parts I need, just like the browser in your video. I saw the pre-processed version of 'The Futuristic Sounds of Sun Ra'-is it possible for you to share the pre-processing steps with everyone? For example, how to save them as individual WAV files

    Is there a benefit to having multiple sequences over just one with multiple layered samples on track 1 - 10?
    I usually approach it from one sequence and use the tracks to build off my beat creating loops and layers while using the track mute to mute the loops I crated. Then copy to a 2nd sequence once I figure out how I want to layout the track. Then use track mutes on the 2nd sequence to make the beat by copying the bars to how ever many minutes my layout goes. If that makes sense. Its easier to show than type it.

    So many times I've done this only to find myself on the other side of the planet. Iol it definitely takes focus.
    Question: do you use the Heat with your MPC all the time? I was listening to Ginga today as was getting ready for work. And I noticed it has a certain warmth even through my phone speaker. Impressive

    • @mpchead
      @mpchead  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes I use it on all my beats. Is always on the main output adding that extra color and saturation.

    Off topic but man I would so appreciate your input on how you record video and sync audio with your MPC? I have a Scarlett audio interface and a GoPro hero 10, not sure if they are compatible. Thanks so much!

    @marlodigs hey I’m totally off-topic. Apologies for that but I have a question if you only had to choose between the two to be on your master bus, what choice would you make between the heritage, audio successor, compressor or the fatso?

    • @mpchead
      @mpchead  10 месяцев назад +1

      I never used the fatso but I would probably get it over the successor if I had to choose

      I think it has the do with his ‘master’ out chain, i think it goes from the mpc to the analog heat and than through his eq, compressor (maybe even a transient shaper, not sure about this one)
      But he has a video showing the chain
