I'm a huge AC fan, but I really think they shoudn't release an AC every year. Even people like me, who have played all games in the series, are getting tired of it. They should take some time, improve gameplay and performance, write an amazing story and release the game when that's done. I really don't know if I'm gonna buy this, even though I'd like to record some gameplays.
Leolive I feel the same! I've been a hardcore fan since 2009, I started all the way back to Altaïr, but now the series has lost its vibe, it doesn't feel like AC anymore and that makes me think they should've ended it after AC3

***** I've felt this since AC 3. IMO the series dipped after that. Black Flag was good, but 3 and Unity were huge disappointements. The only thing I like about Unity was the multiplayer.
Gehab maybe the AC series is like Windows, only every other title is good. AC3 was kinda bad, AC4 was really cool, AC5 was kinda shitty, AC6? Well let's hope it will be really good.

@lucasgrey9794 I'm sorry but what the heck!? Jack the "lad" is the secret identity of "jack the ripper." Awful writing. Evie is a terrible protagonist, much worse than Jacob. Jacob stole the show in the 10 mins he was in, and yet evie was boring for 10 entire levels. Playing as Jack was vile and disrespectful. The "fear tools" are just a cheap way to end any fight or stealth section by cheating. Terrible game design. The story is uninspired, and dull. The dlc had very little to do with templars or proper assassin's, and it has nothing to do with the ISU, which every main assassin's creed should have something ISU related...
Sorry but Jack the ripper is terrible. I mean Evie couldn't even make it from India to England in time to stop Jack in real life. The trip is a lot longer than a month back in victorian times. And where is Jacobs son? He is alive and a trained assassin, so where is he? Why ask evie from India to help? Bad writing, that is why. Jack the ripper was a dirty little dlc with minimal effort involved, a badly written story, and no new free roam location. It was a sad little experience that only hurt the mian game, and I can only think it was made by short sighted people who simp for evie.

***** Interesting. That's the only case I've ever heard of something like that happening with a huge AAA release though.
All I want is:
- A less arrogant/wacky protagonist, one like Altair who actually tried hard to be a good and stealthy assassin, not a crazy guy ramming down lamp posts with a horse.
- None of the high density NPC crap, just give us a 60+fps game.
- More landscape than just a city. The map looks dark and miserable, I'd like to see some countryside for a change.
- A continuation of the back story regarding the first civilization, what is going on with Juno and the Sage from Black Flag?
- Less emphasis on building a gang and controlling map zones. I don't particularly care about leading a gang, being an assassin should be a lone wolf job for a highly skilled professional.

Am I the only who just likes the games no matter what? I feel like I'm the only one who likes the games anymore, not just some people who complain about the smallest bug, or the smallest "missing detail". So many people are complaining about the gameplay, when Ubisoft is making a lot other games too, not just Assassin's Creed. I love the games no matter what happens. I say thank you to Ubisoft.
I am the same way. But for me it's because I missed out on so many games I am probably easily impressed. Back in 2012 I had a nice gaming set up at my apartment. I ended up being robbed of my 360, PS3, laptop, tablet and tv. So it wasn't until this year that I finally got back into gaming and stacking up on all these games. I must say these games are amazing.
AC Syndicate was my first AC game and I absolutely LOVED it. I am currently playing Unity and enjoying it as well. Syndicate had a great combat that I do feel is missing in Unity...but both are great games. Hell I even liked Watch Dogs that I came to find out people hated quite a bit and think Watch Dogs 2 looks very fun.

Gavin King I know it's says Pre-Alpha but Ubi's statement is quite weird.
How can you be Pre-Alpha when there is nothing before Alpha, and how can you be at that stage when release is FALL 2015? I think they just use it so none of us can harshly criticize for the footage shown because they'll always have an excuse. Just like your comment :P

Shebanjah Sinekraft You clearly don't understand game development, so i'll give you a quick run down.
A game goes through many stages during development. Most games are only announced (and therefore known to exist) once they enter the alpha or beta phase. Pre-Alpha constitutes all development that a game undergoes before testing. Alpha is the first round of testing that a game will endure once the base functionality is installed. Games during alpha (and therefore, pre-alpha as well) are extremely buggy, with data loss, crashes and glitches very common. At the end of the alpha phase the game becomes feature complete.
The beta phase is often used for demonstrations of the software and it's capabilities. At this stage, the game undergoes extensive testing in order to hunt down and eliminate as many bugs as possible (there will always be some that go unnoticed). Although the game is feature complete at this point, there will be plenty of bugs, known and unknown, that will need finding. The game may still experience severe technical issues like crashes at this stage, but this shouldn't be as prevalent as in alpha or pre-alpha.
Only after this, is the game prepared for release.So, Ubisoft's statement isn't weird at all. The gameplay demonstrated is pre-alpha, in other words it is very, very early gameplay. The game isn't even complete yet, and there will be a multitude of bugs at this point.

Everybody think that syndicate was the last true AC while it was actually Unity that was truly the last game that has traces of the old AC feel, I'd say that unity was the embodiment of the feeling of being the blade in the crowds. Too bad ubi rushed that game and then blamed it all on unity's head, that unity's failing causes the entire franchise to switch to being an RPG to remain "fresh" and unfortunately it worked in their favor judging by the RPG era of games' sales

***** Obviously it was different from 3 and 4, that comes with the setting. But how could you say Paris feels empty? It is the biggest city in AC history with tons of sidequests and responsive crowds filled with a variety of NPCs. The world is more alive than ever, I hated how the world in AC4 was so devoid of anything to do once you finish the few quests there are.
The customization in Unity is incredible, far beyond anything we've seen in AC before. Combine that with co-op missions, improved stealth and an entirely new combat system (which was desperately needed after reusing the same thing for 3, 4, Liberation, and Rogue), and I think that the world and gameplay were great successes. I have a few minor gripes, like having the Hidden Blade only available for stealth kills, and the free-running sometimes not working how you want it to, but overall I think it was great.
Story-wise, we agree more. It wasn't bad per se, my main complaint is that it was hardly involved with the revolution at all, as it was mostly about Arno and Elise's relationship. That being said, I find myself wanting more out of every AC's story, so this isn't sometime unique to Unity.
KonguZya I thing you may just be a fan boy cause you say it was amazing but it was majorly buggy as it was rushed just per usual (money!) the story was short, boring and honestly what AC was better than Brotherhood Unity was a let down, they didnt listen to any critisism from AC3 and they most likely havent from Unity big games like this always end up in the trash. E.g. Call of Duty and Battlefield once were great games but stopped doing what everyone loved and didnt listen to the people they were selling it to. The world is all about making more and more money scraping as much as they can and unfortunately Video games have come to this to :( I do respect you love AC but you have to accept there mistakes your only lying to your self and giving your money to them.

That's like complaining about a game having guns it because COD has guns. And secondly, its Pre-alpha. Do expect Pre-Alpha footage to look better than a fully finished game that came out not even a year ago?
I have to say ACU was a massive difference from previous AC games, and it does have its originality. This game just reminds us of so many other games right from the alpha footage. I found almost no new features in this game.

It’s hilarious reading all these negative comments nine years later when Syndicate ended up being a great game. It’s the fandom that led Ubisoft to make trash like Odyssey and Valhalla. The RPG mess the franchise is in is because of the hate Unity and syndicate got but didn’t deserve. They were beautiful games

This game can be one of the best assassin's creed games. Shame for the story and the downgrade before with the screenshots when the game could be victory and then with the two demo because yes they downgraded the game from the demo. Shame. And ubisoft why you doesn't put a key just to pick up your hood even with the same animation when you are put down. Why?
Looks exactly the same as Unity, and seeing that turned out to be crap, not buying this. Ubisoft, you need to stop rushing your games, take time, otherwise, your games will be bad like AC Unity and The Crew.

***** Yeah sure, once I got over the launch, the story was extremly lame, the game was empty and I stopped playing it within a week, and although the graphics were mainly good, horrible texture pop in's ruined it for me, and I could see the exact same pop in's taking place in this video. And let's not forget, 30 fps...

Ajay Raikwar Well they're always making big multiple games (3 at once, usually) behind the scenes to make AC a yearly game (sadly), which you can look at Wikipedia's AC Development paragraph. But last year was just ridiculous. Watch Dogs, Far Cry 4, AC Unity, AC Rogue. 4 big games at once? That's just stupid.
This year though, they've gone a bit quite (although there's Chronicle, but that's a small game that shouldn't bother them much). With the fact that they get rid of multiplayer so they can 'focus' on making Syndicate's map 30% larger than Unity, yeah, hopefully that is the quietness of "we've learnt our lesson" heheh

It's like I would make a video where I play one note with a guitar, then talk about what kind of song I was thinking about making, and then asking consumers to finance my song by pre-ordering it without having any idea what the final product will be.
Was hoping to see more stealth, hopefully they keep in aspects like customization and make a better co-op.
warhero122 Well co op was the big reason why I got Unity, I enjoyed it but yeah it could've been a lot better. I probably won't get this game since they won't have co op. Co op to me makes it so that someone can go back and play the game more than once after they beat it.
I'm happy they got rid of co op because it was broken in unity and now they could focus more on the single player

That's not in game, this isn't in game, he never said that, she never said that and oh hell I WISH the turff wars were this fun. Bloody Nora suffered the same fate as all the other territory bosses, she became a nobody. It would of been tad better if EVERY boss had some form of interaction before the killing. It's a shame they went so far off the rails near the end. The pre-alpha had some choice parts in it.

Explains 4 things you can do with the carriages, which is all u can do. Then adds "Possibilities are endless" ehm no. Besides they are literally the same mode of Transport as horses were in earlier versions.

They really should stop releasing a new game every year. Last-time a new Assassin's Creed game felt special was ACII. They kind of ruined the series. I haven't bought Unity or Rogue yet because these games come too often. I like Assassin's Creed games.

Ubisoft hasn't really been making great games lately so I'd play this smart and let a friend get the game first so you can test it out. Ubisoft listen to your fans, we hate the Uplay, we hate coming out of the Animus and doing some shitty little side mission, If you do online make it like the older version... do you know how annoying co op was in Unity. Don't put so many NPC's in the game if it can't handle it, the frame rate was terrible on Unity and by now I have no clue what the story even is and if this is set in London I am expecting a Jack the Ripper side mission! I'd just wish they wouldn't bang this out every year I wish they'd just take their time.

Never had any framerate problems while playing it either, but then again I dont expect more than 30 fps since I am so used to playing games for years now at less than that anyways, anything from 18-30 is easily comfortable if people dont get indignant about it.

This game is amazing
Once again..you are rushing to put out a game that has potential, yet will fall flat on its face because of the short time you invested in it Ubisoft. A shame might I add. Movement looks a hell a lot like unity. A new gadget, and a new map. Falls short a bit. Hate the fact that most assassins are either wearing a hat or nothing. They dress to colorful. And the carriage controls will very likely be very bad. Hated it in AC 2 and Revelation doubt it will be so much different this time. Combat look clumsy again: enemies do not react to their allies dying groan from 3 feet away, big guy can take a lot of punches that's ok ...taking a beating and the bullets up close while wearing a west is silly. Jacob taking three hits from a guy that size with a cleaver ... yeah still silly. Make combat a bit more punishing and realistic, don't let us take 3-4 at once, only maybe 2, but make them react normally to how you hit them and what you hit them with. Make us use more tactics, let us feel like an assassin who really needs to think over how he does things. Taking territory from templars and having gangs isn't new to the series either. I'll be expecting something new shortly since so far it doesn't look more like a revamp of unity. I'm still waiting to hear you say that the next AC game will take time to make (about 2-3 year), then I just might think that you actually try to put out something fresh and polished. Giving us a cool location that look gorgeous isn't enough, that the least we expect from u guys. And for the love of God, tie the together the stories of previous assassins.. Connor was left hanging, Aveline the same ... Arno the same... and we still don't get why is it that despite telling us that Altairs bloodline is the only one that should have eagle vision (yeah we've been told he was born with the extra sense if you recall) .... WHY DOES EVERY OTHER ASSASSIN HAVE IT? ... oh and the female assassin looks a hell of a lot more interesting design and character wise!

Nandor Szabo The other assassins can train up that sense, as stated multiple times in the games, and we can't have a female assassin until Eve's descendant is discovered/located. They are using Desmond's genomes to relive the life of Adams descendant, we still haven't learned anything of Eves descendant.

Yay!!! Gang fights with mindless AIs!!! Yay!!! Slum conquering much like towers in brotherhood ( aka control the district ) ( not even challenging ). Yay!!! Combat that requires you to button mash one button ( and again kills take too long not how an assassin kills at all. ) Yay!!! A world filled with mini-quests just like every single assassin's creed game since Brotherhood. And i still see AIs appearing and disappearing like in Unity. ( dont tell me this is pre-alpha etc. bullshit ubisoft never does many changes from pre-alpha to full game release ( beta ). Assassin's Creed started dying as soon as Revelations came out. final word : Dishonored > Assassin's Creed. period.

Josh Richardson that is the whole problem with combat atm. Take a look back at AC1. Hidden blades were hard to use but resulted in instant kill. Sword and dagger were slower. Also enemies had Fast-weak attacks or Slow-strong attacks which fucked up your timing if u didnt know how to use ur weapons. Then came AC2 and while story-wise it was the best, the combat took a huge step back, and it was the same since then.

Assassin's Creed is interesting in medieval times, or in 16-17 century, but assassin's creed in london in 1868 WTF! Assassin's Creed whit mashine guns and trains - it have games like CoD and GTA, get back assassin's creed in medieval times!!! Make AC in Constantinople in 13 century, or France at the time of Hundred Years war, or in England at the time of the War of the roses, or in medieval Japan, or Russia, or Bulgaria, or AC in Central America, but in 1510-1540, at the time of conquistadores, not in 18 or 19 century!
Doesn't look that bad, and I appreciate the lighter hearted nature that allows for some actual enjoyment out of the story. The gameplay also seems interesting too. The concern I have is the actual state of the game and if it will just be AC Unity all over again. I have no doubt that the developers want this to be a great game, but clearly the bosses at Ubisoft don't understand that a game has to be in a finished state to release in. If this game makes the same mistake, it's safe to say that this series is done for.

The game engine was sure downgraded because of consoles.
The amount of peds is also so small, evne for alpha the game looks really empty, grass clipping through objects and grass on concrete... And a " rope launcher", srsly? Might as well just call this AC:Spiderman. Heck next assassin creed game will have two of them so you can swing them like spiderman.
The animations need a lot of work... the character moves unrealistically and twitchingly... make it feel more realistic and flowing... look at GTA and learn.

Well, i didn't feel slightly impressed. The setting is awsome, and some ideas (like the gang wars seem promising ) but the combat is the same shit as unity and navigation, well the grapling hook destoys it , but there aren't things to grab on. Not impressed and when witcher 3 is about to be released... i am sorry for ubisoft.
