Connor's story is one of the best in the franchise. It isn't afraid to show how dirty natives were treated as they desperately attempted to defend their home. Connor is torn in multiple directions throughout the game and it adds depth to his character that not alot of people in my area understood at the time. There was a lot of hate for this game because our boy Desmond dies (which till this day, I believe was a dumb ass move) and a misconception that Connor shows no emotion. But there is plenty of emotion shown throughout this character and his drive for revenge blinded him at times. And lets talk about the soundtrack, many say Ezio's family is the best. I disagree, AC3 has the better theme hands down.
I loved the early outfit for Connor here. It takes a lot of cues from the levantine robes but include a few tribal native american details. I don't know why they didn't keep it for the final game.
The one thing I'm glad they changed is Connor's outfit. The one in the final game is one of my favorite robes in the entire franchise. So cool looking. Fits his character perfectly.
You really think his final outfit looks good lol the only things I whould change is the color of the prototype outfit as red dosen't suit the side hes helping.
AC3 was in development immediately after AC2, that is since 2009, first in the "ideas" stage, of course, and from this stage is this render and you can clearly see Desilets's handwriting on it. The datadiscs, developed meanwhile, didn't require that much attention from the key creators and they already focused on the next main installment. Or do you think AC3 was completely developed from a scratch in 1 year, after Revelations came out?
I know it's all pre-rendered but I do hope someday the technology of games get so advanced that future AC games' combat is as fluid and responsive as the combat in this trailer.
An actual AC3 remake with animations like this would be great. It's prerendered but nowadays we could actually do it with things like motion matching and blending like in TLOU2. Like the animation at 3:12 where he actually walks up the tree root etc.
Genuine fun fact: if you read the ac 3 wiki the rope dart was supposed to be a chain hidden blade, which is the one shown in the prototype, but they thought it was too fantastical and changed it to the rope dart
To clarify how this works, this is usually the result of the creative heads coming together with their ideas of what they envision the final product looking like. Almost all games have these internally as a source for the rest of the team to try and replicate in a live environment, eventually leading to the game at launch.
its was when old Assassins Creed 3 was released now they could have made this one instead of that Crap Remastered of AC3 Which is just bunch of colour corrections and HDR . Just made the game mechanics bit like this i know the whole action and stuff like this cant be happening but at least the scenery and parkour
The movements of the people in this pre rendered version are insane! They look so Realistic that it makes you sad to play games that look like nothing compared to this!
@@Bubba1025 it's probably possible for Xbox SX, PS5 and PC to run this, the biggest problem right now would probably make the player input feel smooth and look smooth at the same time
Imagine if they managed to make the game like this, the game wouldn't have so much hate. Connor looks like a true assassin here. This is all possible to make, but Ubisoft doesn't do what the people want, which is kind of disappointing.
It would be cool if we had a mini sequel of Connor (like Ezio with Brotherhood etc) as a Master Assassin as towards the end he got a much cooler and suave attitude. They could use some elements from this demo especially the outfit as it looks fantastic ngl.
Honestly, the main thing from this that I wished was in the final game was having the frontier being this dense. The parkour opportunities is far more open in this. I love the tree top running in AC3, and it's most likely due to engine limitations, but wished free running in the Frontier wasn't so linear.
As you can see, the final product is always a trade-off of things that are there for things that are missing. Every healthy development cycle starts with an abundance of good ideas to pick from.
Not gonna lie the gameplay at the first cutscene is not possible with current consoles, at least ps5 or ps6 is needed with that kind of fluidity and AI

Why does it make me cringe
me too, the animations are too weird in this part.
Connor: EVERYONE, LETS HEAD INTO BATTLE
*18th century music band appears*
It's just silly
The walking looks so uncanny
The music sounds like from SpongeBob
Yet people keep saying they were Edwards robes@@unicorntomboy9736
The one thing I'm glad they changed is Connor's outfit. The one in the final game is one of my favorite robes in the entire franchise. So cool looking. Fits his character perfectly.
@your nightmares LOL :D You like the demo trailer outfit better? Oh well each to their own.
@@iWillWakeYouUp gotta be trolling
You really think his final outfit looks good lol the only things I whould change is the color of the prototype outfit as red dosen't suit the side hes helping.
God, AC3 outfit is the blandest one in the franchise. How in the world you think it's good looking
Connor in the final release like a wannabe skater
Back in the day when Patrice Desilets was still working on this game.
He left in 2010. This game came out in 2012 so he mostly likely didn't work on this game
He left in the middle of Brotherhood's production, not this one.
Patrice Desilets said he completed Sequence 3 of Assassin's Creed 3, and never move on to Sequence 4.
@@harunh_arts Thanks for the info! It's fitting, he finished his work with a great twist.
In the book this is the outfit he wears.
3:05 that kill was dope af honestly
I know it's all pre-rendered but I do hope someday the technology of games get so advanced that future AC games' combat is as fluid and responsive as the combat in this trailer.
06:03 I could play with those programmes for hours.
An actual AC3 remake with animations like this would be great. It's prerendered but nowadays we could actually do it with things like motion matching and blending like in TLOU2.
Like the animation at 3:12 where he actually walks up the tree root etc.
I like how they took the running animation from assasins creed 1 to revelations and made it more smoother. Also the rope. Dart is awesome
Genuine fun fact: if you read the ac 3 wiki the rope dart was supposed to be a chain hidden blade, which is the one shown in the prototype, but they thought it was too fantastical and changed it to the rope dart
@@thomasmcfarlane554 interesting
also, another fun fact: Connor is an assassin
Nice video. Scenes with the development of the game were especially pleased!
To clarify how this works, this is usually the result of the creative heads coming together with their ideas of what they envision the final product looking like. Almost all games have these internally as a source for the rest of the team to try and replicate in a live environment, eventually leading to the game at launch.
Do people not realize it’s a pre rendered proof of concept? This version of the game could never exist
@Notsopro Gaming not as long as they have the rights to it no they won't sadly.
They just wont be willing to put in the money
its was when old Assassins Creed 3 was released now they could have made this one instead of that Crap Remastered of AC3 Which is just bunch of colour corrections and HDR . Just made the game mechanics bit like this i know the whole action and stuff like this cant be happening but at least the scenery and parkour
King in da norf I know but some of the concepts in it would be fucking amazing especially if they kept the outfit from this
The movements of the people in this pre rendered version are insane! They look so Realistic that it makes you sad to play games that look like nothing compared to this!
Longest cutscene ever.
This how should be a assassin's game, graffics can be better, but the moves and the camera is so cinematic nice job
You realize this was all pre rendered CGI? The level of physics that had was so fake not even a modern PC could handle that much input.
@@Bubba1025 it's probably possible for Xbox SX, PS5 and PC to run this, the biggest problem right now would probably make the player input feel smooth and look smooth at the same time
10 years later in AC Valhalla: using same tree navigation
...
I like how the lighting effects were used at night. Real contrast from the moonlight and lamplight
Incredible! I love this footage, I need to show it to all my friends.
Edit: I wish this is how Assassin's Creed: 3 actually looked like. Also subbed!
Got no fucking idea why ubi would downgrade so badly in their every single game? Why fool the customer, why are they so fucking greedy
Pre dev is always fake tho
Imagine if they managed to make the game like this, the game wouldn't have so much hate. Connor looks like a true assassin here. This is all possible to make, but Ubisoft doesn't do what the people want, which is kind of disappointing.
@guilherme bezerra The health bar looks good in this, yeah.
@@ironmatto3 cgi? AC Unity has better 3d models in real time
Wow! That's a great remas... WAIT A SECOND!!!!!

Wait let’s just wait
Let’s take it easy for a moment
AC3 Remastered should have been a AC3 Remake instead. Imagine if the gameplay was as good as the pre rendered bit at the start of the video.
This entire thing is pre-rendered
Are we all going to ignore that Connor casually dodged a volley of musket balls that were 10 feet away from him?
Enemys: **exist**
Conner: hold my ale
I like this Conner, doesn’t say anything just hands him a scalp
The first outfit the developers had in mind was gorgeous.
Lowkey they should have added that suit to the remaster version
This stuff is used to get a glimpse or an idea of what the game should have, look like, do, etc. Its like a stepping stone for the development team.
amazing, i don't know if i've seen some of that footage before, it was such an ambitious title from the titles that came beofre in the same franchize
7:21 good to know that made it into a DLC at least that is my favorite out of them all.
It would be cool if we had a mini sequel of Connor (like Ezio with Brotherhood etc) as a Master Assassin as towards the end he got a much cooler and suave attitude. They could use some elements from this demo especially the outfit as it looks fantastic ngl.
originally was in a plan for Connor trilogy but was scrapped
Fun fact half of the team who made the wildlife of this game moved on to rdr2 aka moved on to Rockstar
Makes whole lot a sense
That kind of parkour right there is what Ubisoft needs to start using for the future assassins creed game
Honestly, the main thing from this that I wished was in the final game was having the frontier being this dense. The parkour opportunities is far more open in this. I love the tree top running in AC3, and it's most likely due to engine limitations, but wished free running in the Frontier wasn't so linear.
Yeah same here, that and some of the fluid combat moves that were in it would have been a cool addition.
They should really just remake the game at this point..
Nah
If ubisoft decides to remake this game, it will be just same game, same mechanics in Unity's engine. Just a new coat of paint to existing product
As you can see, the final product is always a trade-off of things that are there for things that are missing. Every healthy development cycle starts with an abundance of good ideas to pick from.
Never thought about it that way
Not gonna lie the gameplay at the first cutscene is not possible with current consoles, at least ps5 or ps6 is needed with that kind of fluidity and AI
This is so cinematic and awesome. I love it!!
0:36 is no one going to talk about how arno voice actor was technically involved in three assassin's creed games
2:41 I don't think bullets work like that.
At least in the real game Connor uses a enemy body as a human shield. Not this...
Yeah they're kinda pushing it a bit far there.
Someday in the future, someone will see it.
It's on the internet, I can guarantee that.
one day video games will have physics like that.. i loved the fight scene wenn he was "done" killing them he kinda like cleaned his tomahawk with a whip.. imagine this would happen ingame. bloods looking real like that. so nice!
Ghost of Tsushima now has the sword flick
most underrated channel on youtube
God I love the way Connor's assassin robes looked here
3:04 they really like that move, it made it to the actual reveal trailer
Wow connor is more badass looking in the beta
Very nice video! Thank you for Uploading.
3:02 Death cry from Assassin's Creed 2.
I'd pay $100 for that game to be real. that was one of the coolest AC videos ever.
This was weirdly recommended to me just today, but I would love to point out the fact that the mini map almost never changes through the entire video
If this came out as a next gen game I would believe it straight away the fluidity is something assassins creed needs for ps5 and series x next game
2:40 bro just doing his grandpa things
3:18 SCORPION WINS!
Lol Underrated... 😂
I love it when they realize they're dead one of them just yells RUN!
The early Connor robes looks so damn good I wish those were his actual robes
Same
Really wish we would have got a game like the beginning shows instead of what we did get and I absolutely adore AC3. I know it's pre-rendered footage and all, but still, it looks far better than the final result
4:03 ... Imagine getting to actually participate in pwning that entire Army oh god!!!
Oh wow, they used Ezio as test for the game. It's also nice to see Giovanni's robe again.
@Toska Toska My apologies if you don't know what I'm talking about. What I'm trying to say is it's good to see Ezio in AC3 and it's also good to see him in Giovanni's robe.
@@ernestw2474 that's Connor not Ezio
@@brunomelo4880 At 5:16, you see Ezio's Brotherhood model being used in the prototype footage to climb trees (He even has his crossbow). I'm guessing that they were trying to see how well the old movement system with trees, and used Ezio as a placeholder for the player character.
@@thesadattic1065 oh, just saw it! My bad
I Know it's just a pre rendered cutscene, but looks soooo much better than the actual game.
It even has the old "Ezio" engine and animations making it look legit.
If only the scalping part should have stayed, that'd have been dope as fuck to have been able to scalp your enemies once you killed them.
With how much games and consoles can handle these days, I’d love it if they gave Connor another chance. With movement as fluid as Unity, combat as satisfying as 3, exploration as vast as Black Flag/Origins/Odyssey, and a story as in depth as 2... we could finally get an AC game ALL AC fans could enjoy.
In a post Red Dead Redemption 2 world, i feel like the concept "gameplay" could actually be possible with enough FAITH and money thrown at it.
As long no one DOUBTS the developers, it'll be perfect.
Red dead gameplay is really bad
@@spankg888 ok
I don’t get why people didn’t like the game, I loved traversing the wild and just getting lost in it, primal and instinctual! No other AC game highlights the wilderness like this! And I loved being a native American, so majestic, so in touch with nature

This is the Connor we needed.
the outfit looks good. Should've been some extra content for the remastered.
H. Rush pretty sure it’s the Achilles outfit.
That weird moment, when concept looks better and more interesting than their fabulous "remaster"
Because its all a cutscene

So in the concept Haytham was a good guy
haytham is a good guy. sadist but a good guy.
I think that was meant to be Washington
Dragon Man no Washington is the guy on the horse
Haytham is a good guy... He just goes about his dreams in a different way than Connor does
This *wasn't* Haytham.
Back when this was their Concept, "Kenway Story" didn't exist.
This was just a guy we'd meet earlier in the game (through Story) - one of our Allies.
Later, when they got the Kenway idea, this guy became Base for Haytham, and they changed this Assassin into "Connor Kenway".
Looked soooo much better than what we ended up with. There was more detail, more darker, even the tree limbs bent over Connor's weight as he climbed on them. I hope they remake the first three AC games this way.
Really neat to see that the first announcement trailer mirrored the red coat fight sequence.
