Every summer Pg gets in tip top shape and has the mentality like we are going to win it all… But after about 25 games he reverts back to who he really is: “carefree, inconsistent, and a lot older… You can’t make a person be a Killer if they’re a Kitten by nature.. right now it’s fresh, but the Clippers will be better off for the future by letting PG walk!

My issue with PG is that he lacked accountability during his Clippers tenure. He wanted to play in a certain offense, but when he got sick of that, he'd say he needed a point guard. PG had too many responsibilities, sometimes not enough. Nothing was good enough for the guy. Yet, PG STILL wanted a no-trade clause. PG didn't play above his averages but wanted to be treated as a #1 player? Good radiance. Another player who wants all the glory without getting pushback 76ers fans will eat PG alive.

Yup, PG just showed his true colors. Guy got everything he wanted during his time here. His play was extremely inconsistent and him not stepping up was reason we lost in 1st rd. First time clippers don't give him what he wants he bails, guy is not max player and not a true winner. He set franchise back after everything we gave up for him. Glad clippers didn't resign but would have preferred sign and trade.

Maybe, but it’s all dependent on this teams fight. They got younger more versatile. They didn’t have that before. Plus I image kawhi will be out a bit. PG would not carry this team. The team needs to carry itself.
I recently watched games from the SGA rookie season and I truly hope that’s the model the FO is going. Hard nosed physical underdog team. I like all the doubt. Makes it fun.

He said it was around All Star Break. I’ve mentioned in these comments over and over that his play regressed around that time and it was because he was mentally not in it. The part where I thought PG was lying about when it came to the negotiations, was when he began to stammer and said he was willing to take the 3 years 150 mil at the end of the season. Then he said that he’d agree to it, with a no-trade clause. However, I think thats cap because he probably always wanted the 4th year all along, and was only gonna settle for a year 3 with the no-trade clause. He was never gonna agree to a 3 year. That just shows he’s not serious about winning “the right way”, he chose to be petty last minute.

Not giving PG13 a 4 year max contract proves that Steve Ballmer wasn't sitting front row at all those games being a fan. He saw what everyone else observed is that PG13 was sulking a lot of the games. I am a Clipper fan and George disappeared in many games not looking like the second best player on the team. I'm glad the owner knows how to evaluate which player is giving 100% when in the lineup. PG13 expecting the team to pay him the same as Kawhi and allow him a no-trade clause is delusional. When healthy Kawhi always gives maximum effort even if he's having a bad game. I cannot say the same about PG13.

You don’t realize how terrible Paul George is until you watch him on a daily basis. If you don’t, you tend to think of him as the “perfect “ player. Since he can do everything. But he just can’t do it consistently and due to his loser/victim mindset, he will always subconsciously find things to complain about to help justify his lack of commitment to his team and why he’s playing bad and with no effort on defense when it actually matters like maybe in the playoffs against non all star PJ Washington and DJJ?

I think what he was trying to gloss over (because it makes him sound bad) was that ultimately he wanted thst fourth year no matter what, which would mean getting a bigger contract than Kawhi when he himself has said he thinks he should have been giving the dame as Kawhi. Hes an endless contradiction. Because he's constantly trying to sound reasonable and tell you want you wabt to hear but in the end its not what he actually wants or feels. the thing with him is, just cause his names PG he wants to be treated like a max player like if it’s still 7/8 years ago, but when it comes to his game it’s straight inconsistent, he goes ghost in big moments, he’s showed he’s too mentally weak, his shot selection is the worse, hugeeee turnover machine, and always does this big talk and ends up making himself look like a fool 💀 if clippers gave him the max they would dig themselves in a deeper hole. If PG really wanted to “win” and didn’t have that ego he would have took a pay cut just like kawhi did just like harden did to build a better team around them but PG was being greedy and wanted max money when he doesn’t even perform as a max player and gets cooked, outperformed and stopped by roles players. Good luck Philly fans all I can say is Don’t have high expectations with this guy. He can change his jersey, he can change his number, he can change teams, he can try to change the narrative but one thing that will always stay the same is that he’ll always be PATHETIC P.

I have a few things to say about all this.
I thought him talking everything to start with was in poor taste. He came off very entitled and a huge ego. But the part where he talks about how he got upset so he started cutting people out had a bad attitude wasn’t a team player I instantly thought PG you’re coming off as a diva. You can’t become a problem then expect the team to go yes here’s a max.
Also the last two games he was 4/13 and 6/18 shooting didn’t pass 20 points in win or go home games as the number one options. So he deserves max money??
PG is a good player but not a max player. 2/$60 2/$90 is a not insulting it’s fair when you’re not a superstar anymore.
Lastly, Philly has two years max to get this thing to work. Then his contract will be the worst in the league.
Kawhi is a better player and an alpha you pay the alpha max not the third option.

My only retort is The Sixers don't seem to mind paying $50 mil+ for a #3 option, so hard to say PG is not worth it when he got it...😊
Will The Sixers win a title with him at that price tag?
We will have to see but i think like The Clippers situation, it will be more contingent on Joel Embiid.
Will he be healthy come postseason time and will he play to his talent and regular season reputation?
Then are The Clippers in a better position to win the title without PG, if Kawhi suddenly stays healthy for a full postseason run?
Is James Harden at $35 mil per better value than PG at say $50 mil per, as a #2 option?
We shall see over the next 2 seasons i guess

To be fair, everyone has his right to go to a place with better pays than what we offer. So we should not bash too hard on PG for not being loyal, or go into specific details on what he said before or who is better than who.
At the end of the day, teams overpaying players will ultimately pay the price in the end. The sixers have already picked up unwanted products from us, from T Harris to Doc and now PG. The first two cases were definitely a disaster for the prices they pay.
Based on my understanding on a player that are not a top 25 player in the league that plays less games than a fragile Anthony Davis over the past 4 years, I won’t be surprised if this case will turn out to be a bigger disaster to the buyer.

Devils advocate here. Seems the organization prioritized and made it abundantly clear that Kawhi was the main focus. I get that. But when does Kawhi catch flack? The organization has adhered to every demand him and uncle Dennis has wanted with no results to show. PG and the rest of the 2021 squad will always at least me be held to a high regard for breaking through and being 2 games away from the finals. PG has his faults but seems like he was treated like the stepchild. I’m convinced Kawhi feels no pressure to bring a championship to LA since he already has two. I don’t think either should’ve been offered contracts cause the team needs to rebuild and yes I’m aware there’s no picks but if you have great scouting and development you can make due. They even brought in Westbrook and harden cause he couldn’t be the best facilitator on the team like Pippen was.

  • @TimboGotGame

I have to respect PG in this situation. I feel like Clips were really disrespectful with that 2 year 60 mill offer. It’s almost as if the organisation was trying to take advantage of George’s situation… that being he is a LA native and settled at home with his family… Clips thought there is no way this guy would leave… So they decided to lowball him with a ridiculous number… PG turned around and said he wants the same money as Whi… which is honestly fair enough because its not George’s fault that Whi signed his extension early and took less than he is worth.
Also it’s so hypocritical of Clippers fans to slander Paul for leaving and not showing loyalty to the team. If fans really believe in loyalty they wouldn’t be suggesting that a NTC is an absurd demand and then supporting the organisation on refusing it.
Paul has to protect his own brand at the end of day. Clips GM can talk all that crap about ‘we want you to retire a Clipper’…. But George told them to put their money where their mouth is…. George wants the future of his brand in his hands… he wouldn’t want to resign with the Clippers and take a 60 million pay cut, just to be shipped to a small market like Cleveland or Washington lol He has to stand on business and look after himself and his family.
Paul played his cards right. Clips didn’t appreciate him, so he took his talent to Philly.
