Wow! Great job and thanks for the mention! Keep at it and remember to have fun… I look forward to watching more videos from you in the future. Oh, and great pickups too!
Never apologize for loving comics, my dude. I've been reading them for over 40 years, and I still love them. I'm really glad that I found your channel. Keep up the great work!
1). It's so refreshing to hear someone say how they buy comics because they like reading them or because a cover grabs them; too many videos on comics are all about finding keys for as little as possible to sell them for as much as they can, they don't even bother reading them. 2). LMC has quickly become one of my favourite RUclipsrs on comics precisely because Mike enjoys the comics he finds and anything he sells is a secondary consideration; you couldn't ask for better inspiration. 3). Oh man, that first shot in the store, acres of white long and short boxes: I felt a tingle up my spine. 4). The Defenders is definitely a good title, Steve Gerber's writing was intriguing, even challenging at times, and I always enjoyed his books. 5). Marvel got the licence for two Edgar Rice Burroughs characters in the 1970s, Tarzan and John Carter of Mars; neither lasted more than three years but they're fun and, because they aren't much in demand, it doesn't cost much to complete both series. 6). The third store sounds like it's run by someone more interested in comics as a hobby than as a business; odds are that it will be the one to close down out of the three stores you visited. 7). New subscriber right here! G'day from Australia.
You are already a step ahead of some collectors. Sticking to your budget is always important not just for collecting but in life as well. Enjoy reading what you pick up. Keys aren't everything. You can find great stories without paying big bucks.
Any comic is exciting if you don’t already have it. And it’s fun to watch people finding them. I’ve seen all the stores in Las Vegas so I love seeing what else is out there. I agree with you about messy stores and people not taking care of comics. I always want to straighten out the stores and shame those people. But I just smile and move on.
Just found nova 1 in the dollar bin not in the best shape but I was still surprised to see it in there some nice pick up that not a bad price for x men first appearance of mister sinister the shop I go to there going for about 80 or more in my area
You're doing just fine. Do what you enjoy and what works for you. Nice books for sure. Personally I like watching hunt videos because I just don't have time/funds to go that much. Looking forward to more content.
Enjoyed the video my man. I've been wanting to start a channel myself but am currently planning on making a move from Ohio to California early next year so I'm holding off on that for now. I also dont have many friends who collect comics so I watch videos to connect with fellow collectors. I have only collected for about 2 1/2 years now. Been chasing down the spawn run. Completed the Ren and Stimpy run. I need 5 more of the beavis and butthead books to complete that run. I enjoy seeing channels like this where its about what you like to read and the characters you connect with and not all about the investing aspect of the hobby where its all about values, speculation, and having to send every book off to get slabbed up essentially making the book a poster since you cant read it anymore.
Awesome Haul Video Man!! Really Dig your energy and enthusiasm. Don't sweet the mic, backdrop or lighting. That stuff will come the more you do this and enjoy it. We all think our first videos suck LOL for this to be your 1st haul video on your channel at the time of typing this you knocked it out of the park bruh. I have been on the look out for that X-Men 221 LOL Your pick ups were FIRE though. Love all that bronze age stuff especially those Defenders books. Nova (Richard Ryder and Sam Alexander) books are heating up. That Captain Marvel Facsimile is FIRE too!!! I Will have to check out your podcast I too am on a Podcast. Looking forward to the next video man!!!
Hey man you're doing great! We all gotta start somewhere. You'll learn as you go and get better and better as time goes on. Hey maybe you'll end up bigger than Lunch Money!!! Keep up the good work man!
Hi! Since I’m the owner at Black Cat, I feel I should say thanks for all the kind words. (We are in Sugarhouse, though, not Sandy) Also, really no need to apologize for anything on here. Great video, so keep them coming! The Defenders is one of my favorite runs ever!
Cool video, pleasantly surprised to see younger generation interested in older books. I was an avid reader in the 90's, now I mainly collect bronze and silver age stuff, steel like to read them now an than. Keep the videos going.
Sweet! Some good buys! I went thru the $1 comic bin & filled 2 Short boxes for $200. Black Friday & 25% off at my local LCS. I collected them originally to read. Now I'm looking to fill in my personal collection.
Your videos are great! If I lived in Salt Lake City, I would go comic hunting with you. I agree with you, it's a sense of community with comic book collectors.
Looks like you're off to a great start! Really enjoyed this first episode! Lunch Money Comics is definitely a fun channel to watch. Good luck on the hunt(s)!
Hi thank you for sharing. Tarzan 1 is a nice find. The shop you visited that sounds creepy could potentially a gold mine. It's often those off the beaten track are treasure chests. A video of a dig through there could be interesting despite the pain of digging through damaged books.
Utah resident here! I love black cat comics, always pleased with my finds. Dr. Volts used to be sooooo good, but they got picked up by a new owner and it’s not as great anymore. The Nerd Store in west valley is one of my favorites, what a great store!
Nice work on the video, keep up the great work! That comic book shop looks awesome, wish I lived closure! Wolverine is my favourite superhero and absolutely love that cover👌
The mic sounds great. Keep up the good work bud! I really enjoy checking out comic book shops from across the country that I'll never visit. This is a very cool thing, we get to see them vicariously.
Don't keep apologizing, just do your thing and you'll develop better production on your videos as you continue. Just be you and, don't forget the only thing that makes you any different from the other endless RUclips channels is you, not the background or quality of the video. Good luck
Funny thing I have been following lunch money comics recently and I am planning to start a comic channel. I started subscribing to your channel good luck looking forward to your future vids.
I'm going to be real for a minute, bro. I watch a lot of these comic book haul videos. And I think sometimes I just do it to get mad. I see so many people that just go into stores and go right to the wall trying to haggle a store owner down on some key. Or they gripe because they went to some place and the person wouldn't sell them their entire collection for five bucks. Boo hoo. Grading videos, people rushing out to get the crap Comic Tom is pushing this week so he can sell his stash he's been accumulating of said book, etc. But I've been watching your videos for a couple of days and I must say I've been enjoying them. It is so nice to see someone go into a store and while picking through the books they go for what looks interesting rather than just "key searching." You quest reminds me of back in my early days of collecting when I would hit up used bookstores and haunt them for issues of Defenders, Nova, Omega the Unknown, etc. There are a lot of books that have kind of fallen by the wayside because while they're awesome reads, they just don't have a lot of "key appearances in them." The Man Called Nova book has tons of first appearances, but they're just no one that anybody cares about at this point. Defenders tended toward using established characters in interesting ways, so the book is an awesome read, but it's not full of desirable first appearances. That Tarzan issue you go is really cool. Because that series is a fun read. Yeah, it's not worth jack as far as resale, but it's just cool to have and to show off. To ME, this is how collecting should be. Going out and picking up things that just catch your eye because it suits your particular taste. Not just because they're expensive or COULD be expensive. I've always say it's neat when something you pick up hits big value. But comics are a no-no for that quick cash fix. Apparently some of these RUclipsrs...cough cough Tom cough cough...Were not around for the comic crash of the mid-90's where everyone went to turn in their Death of Superman and Breaking of Batman for the big college money and found they had expensive first starter. So, I just want to say mad respect on your videos. I actually enjoy watching them because it's cool to see what catches your eye and we seem to share some similar taste, so that doesn't hurt. Good luck with that Man Called Nova collection because finding it in the wild is SO fun! Yeah, you can get them for next to nothing on Ebay, but finding something out of the blue...Priceless. Those will always have a place in your heart. Keep up the awesome work! Since you asked, I'll throw in one bit of trivia on your Nova #13. That IS Flint Marko as Sandman. I guess Marvel wanted him to look more impressive in the Frightful Four, so they gave him a costume to make him look cooler, but after a few decades, they drifted back to the striped shirt and pants. And I don't want to say something that isn't true, but I THINK this is the first appearance of Crimebuster. He plays a pretty big part in the Nova stories as they move along and Nova got a pretty big supporting cast. No one remembers or cares about him now, but this is a pretty big deal as far as old school Nova fans go.
Hey Ray you don't have to apologize I've been collecting comics for almost 40 years just like you I'd started at a younger age than you but it's okay it's all good i collect comics books because I like to read them whether they're valuable or not doing a good job keep up the good work and hopefully your collection one proved just like mines did the more knowledge you get in the business of, collecting keep up the good work and have a good day enjoy your videos😊😁👍
I enjoyed your video, you don’t give yourself enough credit. This my first video I’ve watched of yours and I thought you did this before so do keep apologizing your doing great. It doesn’t happen overnight my guy keep hunting and find what you love ps that Wolverine looks amazing
I Like your vids and others will too, stop worrying about the production quality. I didn’t start watching Lunch Money for the flash, I started because of the honesty he portrayed when he searched comics. Be honest, like what you do, and people will respect what content you put out just be yourself. Good luck and keep going I think it’s cool what you do, oh and stop apologizing you’re good.
The Dollar Bins are actually a great deal for Comic Collectors with on a small budget and are actually more valuable with age but with so many Comic Book Titles being made available nowadays it's literally becoming harder to chose a particular Character or Various Characters and Complete the entire Collection of a Series of Books so don't cut yourself short as it will actually pay off with enough time and effort so just take your time and enjoy going through all of those various Comics currently available for sale and you'll have a few hundred in a month at least trust me it'll happen.
Dude!- The vid was totally awesome No need to worry Nice pickups Do you have anything specific in mind when you go hunting or is it just what catches your eye?
How can you find any money in there ? Every box is heavily researched. Anyone with an internet can look up the value of any comic? Clearly the owner knew what he was doing and he priced the books from 1 dollar to 4 dollars to 37 dollars, So he had it all down. When I saw ASM 14 I knew something was wrong and of course it was.
Wow! Great job and thanks for the mention! Keep at it and remember to have fun… I look forward to watching more videos from you in the future. Oh, and great pickups too!

You have a new subscriber. You can’t go wrong with Bronze Age books! The Defenders is a great series btw, really love Nova too!
Stumbled on to your videos and wanted to say.....Good Job. Keep up the good work.

I actually found Strange Adventures #205 at a garage sale for $1. I couldn’t believe it
Great stuff
[6:30] Newbie here. Why is the FA green goblin priced at $299.99 for an 8.5 when the website gocollect states a lower grade of 8 is $7.2k?
Am in the same boat as you none of my friends or family care about comics so when I find something cool I have no one to tell
Loved your video and your passion! Don't apologize for either
Dude!-
The vid was totally awesome
No need to worry
Nice pickups
Do you have anything specific in mind when you go hunting or is it just what catches your eye?
You give me Barry Allen type vibes

I enjoyed it from beginning to end
Just keep going you'll get the hang of it. If not yur gonna get a bunch of haters. Lol
