battle of mogadishu, also famously known as “Blackhawk down” was a us military mission where around 100 elite rangers were brought into a busy market to capture two Somali warlords, however, they encountered fierce resistance, and ended up being trapped overnight. Two blackhawks were shot down. One crashed rather violently, killing the whole crew, however, the other crashed and was swarmed by citizens with guns and knives. Two elite Delta Squad members were sent to try and protect the crew, however, they were overrun, and the crew chiefs and brave delta members were brutally stabbed to death before being dragged around the streets. The pilot, Mike Durant, was the only survivor, and was held in captivity until he was traded for the two Somali warlords they were sent to capture.
