Dan Vasc, purposely decided not to sign the recording contract, because he wanted full control over what he does, with a contract he looses the full control. Dan does his recordings out of his home studio, and does his videos in his garage in Brazil. Dan is the best male vocalist on youtube hands down. You want to hear a Epic scream by Dan, than I recommend his cover of Iron Maidens Number Of The Beast.

Dan is the best. He has a 4 octave range I've heard and is a performer besides a singer. (He's actually more of a tenor than a bass )

I love when they say they thought he was gonna metal something up but they like it anyway and BOOM!! If they had waited a nanosecond they could’ve saved their breath. There’s a surprise around every corner. Every. Single. Time.
Loved this reaction. Love Dan Vasc! I love how you had just said, "He's not hitting the high notes like other singers, but ..." Then Dan basically says, "Hold my beer." LOL Head down the Dan Vasc rabbit hole. You won't be disappointed. He can (and does) sing everything from opera to heavy metal, and everything he does is simply phenomenal. Dan could sing the phone book and it would still be life changing.
Dan IS the music that he sings/performs. It doesn't matter what the genre is. Dan feels everything he sings and it's hard not to notice that when you watch/listen to what he offers here on RUclips. That being said, there are certain songs in Dan's catalog, where I believe he puts his abilities to the ultimate test. It isn't necessisarily that they're difficult songs for a trained vocalist to sing... it's the circumstances surrounding the recordings of these songs that make them stand out for me. Dan lost his father, Roberto, in October of 2017. They were extremely close and I think it's safe to say that he was (and still is) Dan's hero. I feel like this is important information to have, if you're going to continue to react to Dan's music catalog.
5 days after his dad passed away, following a valiant battle with cancer, Dan recorded the song "American Trilogy". He performed it as a tribute to his dad, because Elvis was one of Roberto's favorite artists and because he loved that song, in particular. Almost from the beginning of the video, you can see the tears welling up in Dan's eyes, but as it progresses, you also see his determination to get through the performance as flawlessly as he is able to, while attempting to hold back the tears. The last two minutes of the song are hard for me to watch, especially after I learned the story behind his emotions. I cry every time.
There could be other dedicated videos in between, but 3 months after American Trilogy, Dan recorded The Last Goodbye from the movie The Hobbit: The Battle Of The 5 Armies and again, in the haunting melody of the Billy Boyd cover, you can see and feel that this was another tribute to his dad. It's one of the most beautifully sad songs I've ever heard and it's also another one of Dan's performances that brings me to tears every time. Now... to try and tie up this already very long comment, I feel like I'd be remiss if I didn't add one more very important performance, that shows just how versatile Dan is as an artist and how much of his heart and soul he pours into his music.
His father was of Italian heritage and was a serious fan of opera. He and Dan would listen to Andrea Bocelli, Pavarotti and other operatic greats on long car rides that they took together when Dan was growing up. This led to Dan's own love of opera and his decision to record the classic Nessun Dorma, a pretty well-known piece from Giacomo Puccini's Turandot which was uploaded about 5 months after his dad passed away. I'm not at all an expert on opera, but I do enjoy outstanding performances of certain "classic" pieces and Nessun Dorma is definitely one of them. I've seen a few of Pavarotti's versions, as well as Andrea Bocelli's and multiple covers by different artists here on RUclips - and in my very unprofessional opinion, Dan's performance is the most beautiful and emotional rendition that I've heard.
I'm sorry this was so long, but I hope it helps to introduce you a bit more thoroughly, to the man/artist that so many of us respect, admire and frankly, can't get enough of. I look forward to watching you go down the incredible rabbit hole that is #VascNation if you so choose! I promise... it's a heck of a ride!

Yay! You've discovered the phenomenal Dan Vasc! Thanks for your great comments on this incredible singing and acting performance. Welcome to a new world. Dan(iel) Vasc(oncelos) is a Brazilian singer with extensive training in both classical and metal singing techniques. He can (truly!) sing just about anything, in any range and in any style. He has the most beautiful, most expressive, and most versatile male voice I've heard in many years, with power and charisma to burn (and I’m a long-time opera lover). He sings anything that appeals to him, from folk (Loch Lomond, Scarborough Fair), to ballads (The Last Goodbye), to Disney cartoons (I'll Make a Man Our of You, Beauty and the Beast duet), to musical theater (try The Music of the Night), to 80s covers (lots of Bon Jovi and Journey- try Faithfully), to opera (Nessun Dorma); his real love, however is metal and hard rock - . In addition to his classical side, my favorite Dan songs are his own "metalized" arrangements of non-metal songs, which really showcase his creativity and musical wizardry. If you're a Witcher fan, all his versions are great, especially Burn Butcher Burn and The Song of the White Wolf, both terrific in totally different ways; he also does both a metal and non-metal version of Priscilla's Song, and Toss a Coin to Your Witcher (good, but my least favorite). Other metalized songs are his versions of I'll Make a Man out of You (from Mulan, highly recommended), A Kiss from a Rose (duet, of Seal's song), Adele's Rolling in the Deep, several Christmas songs (my favorite is Angels We Have Heard on High), the stunning Amazing Grace, and his latest, a remake of Celine Dion's lovely but weepy My Heart Will Go On, which he turns on its head. It's fabulous. One final note - Dan and his symphonic power metal band Fearless have a terrific album, Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom. You can see them in the videos Tale with No End, from the album, or Dawn of Victory, a Rhapsody cover with Fabio Lione. They were offered at least one contract, but Dan decided that the terms were both too exploitative and too restrictive, so he turned it down and started his solo career on RUclips. He's now almost reached his goal of 1 million subscribers, all on his own - no manager, no agent, no publicity person, no video director or editor, no audio engineer. I dont blame him for turning his back on the industry contract. Keeping only 17?% of the proceeds for doing all his own hard work is a ridiculous deal. Going independent is a no brainer! (Even though it does take longer to get noticed). I subscribed to his channel after the first verse of his new to me song started, & couldnt hit the like button hard enough. I've been addicted to his music ever since, including his very own music from his very own band called Fearless.
This Gethsemane song is one of the songs i loathed until zi heard & saw Dan performing it. Now i actually love it.

Thanks for your great reaction to this incredible performance by Dan Vasc. This one is just an example of the range, emotion and amazing vocal skills of this artist. He is 34 years old and records and films all of his videos in his garage studio in Brazil. He arranges and mixes most of his videos and has quest musicians and sometimes his bandmates, Fearless, that perform with him, I believe the only instrument he plays is harmonica. His favorite genre of music is symphonic power metal and rock and roll. He is classically trained and has a 4 octave range. His natural singing voice is tenor but he can sing low baritone and skyrocketing melodic screams. His cover of Amazing Grace is considered by most as the greatest cover of that song. His newest one is a reimagining of My Heart Will Go On and he transforms that song in a powerful up tempo way. He has many great covers of classic '80's rock that are awesome. I have subscribed and look forward to more Dan Vasc reactions.

I heard “Amazing Grace” and when it ended this song began to play. I was completely caught off guard. I had never heard "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Amazing Grace" was the only song by Dan Vasc I knew so far. I was so shocked but I couldn´t stop it. Afterwards I needed some time, to recover and stop crying. That has never happened to me before.
When an artist can awake such emotions… I think that speaks for itself

I've seen and heard versions of this song from the Iron Chef Chairman (Takeshi Kaga) to Kermit the Frog. NO one combines passion play with technical excellence like Dan Vasc. Welcome to Dan's Vasc catalogue...over 200 songs and I haven't found one that wasn't great to epic.

The best interpretation of Gethesmane was by Camilo Sesto. Very famous singer from Spain. Andrew Lloyd Webber stated that it was the best interpretation of the song.
