Hi Sam. I've been watching your videos for quite a while now and in my opinion, your youtube fan community is the best I've ever seen. Everyone is just much nicer to each other than they are on most channels I see and I don't recall seeing any hate comments. I also like the way you take time to reply to so many comments, which most youtubers don't do. Good luck reaching 30 thousand subscribers!
Hi Dom, yeah I must agree - everyone on here really is lovely, and it's always a pleasure to read all the comments! I guess my replying to all of them reminds people that I'll see it, if they send hate, lol! ;D Thanks so much mate - really looking forward to 30k now!! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great little engine Sam! A lovely addition to the collection. The standard 4mt also looks very good. I love how smart the Apple Green and BR Black look- fantastic! Great vid
An absolute bang on review Sam. What we need to hope is it isn't the start of Bachmann re-releasing all the Mainline range as they are. Although the J72 is a lovely little model it really is old and in need of an upgrade. Keep well and stay safe, regards Gary.
That is the first updated chassis - Bachmann re-hashed them when they first took over the Mainline range - Bachmann did everything split chassis in the early 1990s when they took over the tooling. So it's not 40 years old (really this should be corrected as it's not correct information IMHO) - the Mainline model had a pancake motor - that Bachmann version has a open frame motor as you can see in the exploded diagram. Even then, the old Mainline ones with the original pancake are stalwarts - I had one as one of my first locos and it never missed a beat.
Ahh did they really? That's very interesting - they didn't overhaul it very much then did they?? I think the point still stands though, since (even in 2008) it was vastly out of date, and still prone to failure. I agree that the Mainline locos run well from new, but many don't age well - I get so many sent in for repairs with failed axles and burned out armatures! Hornby equivalents from the same era almost never have these issues! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Nice review as always Sam. I remember buying the Mainline J72 when it first came out and marvelling that it had separate almost scale handrails. FYI I may be wrong but I think another reason why Bachmann bundled the standard 4 with the J72 was that it was the 2nd loco released by Mainline after the tank
Thanks a lot Iain - yes this must have been astonishing for the time really - definitely way ahead of it's time! Yes you are right actually - the box does also say that! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam, I have a split chassis patriot and it has been fitted with a decoder. True, it is not plain and simple but can be done if you so wish. Love your channel
Very impressive stuff Michael - I've fitted decoders to a few Mainline locos, and it's certainly not a pleasant task! Appreciate the kind words mate, Sam :)
The funny thing is I have this loco and it is only after watching this I realised it was separated from a pack, I saw the little loco in the big box and assumed it was a replacement. Great first part of a 2 Part review, I’m not a huge fan of standard designs but look forward to Part 2.
Ahh that's very cool! They did sell them separately too of course - but if yours has the same number, and in the large box, then it's almost certainly from this! Hope you like the next part anyway - it's a pretty decent model! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I had no problem converting my son's one to DCC for the grandchildren (he had it when he was six, he's now thirty two). It just takes a little ingenuity. At the time, I had never even seen a loco ready fitted with a socket, so this was "normal" to me.
You did very well Roger - congrats! I don't recommend people do it since it's so difficult to mess it up and cause a short - did you have to do much modification to fit it in?? Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I like it from any distance, but yeah that split chassis. I wonder why they kept making so many models with it for so long. It would've been a huge improvement just to make new tools for the axles that were molded as one piece, maybe from ABS or some stronger plastic with a pin going through the center instead of two pieces that could split back apart. I know they even updated that tooling at some point for the square center hole, which was some improvement at least since you no longer have to worry about quartering, but it still splits after time.
Yeah you're right - the new version is much better for the chassis! I agree - not sure why they didn't do away with that design straight away... not sure how many years it took for those failures to manifest though? Thanks for watching, Sam :)
This pack is in my local model shop. Unfortunately, it doesn't include the J72 Tank engine. The shop owner separates things from packs or train sets if customers want to buy them that way. Would like the pack intact though
@@SamsTrains His prices are pretty fair. He's retired and is continuing the business as a hobby. I know that I'll be getting most of my locos from him, unless I find something at a train fair or something like that
Is this loco just a re-release of the Mainline Models (Palitoy)? I have one that I bought new in 1978 and it is still, underpowered, looks great, works my ZERO incline industrial shunting layout (no more than four bogie wagons ever) and as reliable as ever, Has been running about 600 hours + over the years but I do not have full records anymore. Still very happy with it and consider it one of my favorites...
Mainline was actually the product of Palitoy, the J72 was one of the first products under the Bachmann Branch-line brand, this was after Kader bought some of the Mainline assets from Palitoy
I thought it was because the J72 and 4MT were the first two locos produced by mainline . The class 4 maybe the latest iteration of it, but I think it’s because they are the first 2 locos in the range. Announced 1976, but I think first available in 1977
Hi Russell, yes that's also true - but if you take a look at the back of the box, they explain that the 4MT was their very latest and modern design at the time! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Nice review Sam, not sure if you know but Bachmann are releasing new retooled versions of the J72/E1 which will probably refine some of the problems that appear to be shown on this older model
Hi Sam. Your misgivings aside, I have to agree that the exterior paintwork is rather lovely. BTW: Have you ever thought of doing a video to describe (and explain) the various classes of locos, using your models to illustrate?
I got my Bachmann J72 no.581 from the South Devon Railway many years ago and still have it. However my Standard 4 no.75001 is from Mainline Railways. :P
Excellent review of the old J72 Sam 👍😉 The model of the locomotive does look good, but yes I agreed that 3% of detail aren't that great including no detail in the loco footplate. I have a J72 in the old Bachmann box that I haven't run for a long time, but I will give it a run on the track to see how well it run. I know Bachmann is going to do a better version in the near future with much better detail.
would love to see you service one of these,I`m honestly stumped, lol, one loco wont move and the other`s linkages make the front wheels want to spin backwards, lol
the motors are much smaller in those than the 2-6-0`s,considering the way it looks, the retainer plates are much smaller and a bit closer together while the whole sideplate that holds the springs and motor is smaller aswell
Hey Sam! Just wanted to know if you were planning on doing a cleaning on this loco anytime soon as I would love to see the internals of this new clean one compared to mine which is quite a few years old. Thanks!
Hey Bryan - yeah I'll no doubt be servicing this at some point - stay tuned with the live streams, and I'll get around to it! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
The J72 was my first loco as an adult. I paid just under 8 quid in 1978. Compared to its rivals at the time it was a step change with a nice finish and lots of separately applied details. It ran well but my wife said the Hornby 0-4-0 toy loco ran better. After several years the chassis wore down making it run badly both mechanically and electrically.
haha blimey - 8 quid, if only we paid that today!! That's true actually - the Hornby 0-4-0s have always run remarkably well, given their price!! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Nice review mate , quite cheeky of them to put a model with such outdated mechanisms in a flashy train pack , even if it was from 2008! Looks nice enough from a distance though , will you be getting the updated one when that comes out? Nice seeing your J50 too , I had to send one back that I'd bought online last week as it ran like a bucket of bolts and made a horrendous grinding noise, quite disappointing as they look lovely! Regards, Alex.
Thanks a lot Alex - yeah I agree actually, but I guess you can't complain :/ Yes I have the updated one on pre-order - really looking forward to it!! :D Ahh hope you get your J50 sorted! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Very nice! I got that pack for £99 from my local model shop. Both locomotives are very nice. The J72 is nice but basic, but I still like it. The Standard 4 you can open the smoke box. 😀
M,mmm, looks fine, but a bit odd it has that split chassis. The engine did seem to run very well at slow speed, but the 'fly in the buttermilk' for many would be that it cannot be converted to DCC operation.
Thanks a lot Ian! Yes to be fair it did run very nicely... for now! That's true though - it's a real headache to chip these - I highly defer doing that these days! Cheers, Sam :)
Very interesting Sam, and unfortunately another example of treating us like idiots. If it wasn't for reviews like yours, too many would be drawn in to pay extortionate prices for sub standard models. Looking forward to the Standard Class 4.
It would be interesting to see how the J72 compared to the most recent non-special edtion J72s that Bachmann had released up to that point, I suspect that they were just using a really old tooling. If it was Bachmann's current tooling, customers might not have been expecting anything any different, though those mistakes one the box and certificate certainly don't't do them any favours! In the same way that there was nothing new about the 2 limited edition collector's club Terriers that Hornby released a couple of years back, apart from the paint job. There's a new J72 tooling in the pipeline, I saw a couple of decoration samples only this morning in a Bachmann display case at Kidderminster (at the SVR's Autumn Steam Gala) and they do look very, very nice.
Yeah that's probably true - up until now, this was the only version Bachmann have - they're releasing a brand new version next year!! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Would have rated similarly Now I’m excited to see the standard class 4.do you know if a tank engine and a tender engine ever doubleheader also do you like garratt locomotives. (I do 😃)
That's good to hear mate! Ooh yes the Standard 4 is gorgeous! Yes I'm pretty sure tank and tender engines did double head - and I love the Garratts! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I have an ancient version of the same. Unfortunately the connecting rods/quartering get all squiffy (they bend in the middle). I think it’s a recurring problem with them (well the older ones!) and I’ve not yet had a go at fixing it. No problems with yours?
Sorry to hear that Phil - yes the wheelsets are famously unreliable on these - which is a great shame! No problems with this one as of yet - but I've no doubt they'll show up sooner or later! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I have gotten myself a decoulper track and just wondering should i put it on a siding? Or if i make a juntchion thing with like 8 sideings coming off each other should i put it on there?
Apologies if this sounds irrelevant to this video, though some ideas I've had for Thomas OCs (original characters made by fans) are an LSWR G16 and an LNER Wheatly Y10.
Nahh definitely not - they're all like this! Bachmann haven't re-designed the mechanism for this. Next year's release will have complete redesign for the first time! :D Cheers, Sam :)
While the pack is nice, I’d recommend picking up the new Bachmann J72 that’s due for next year, looks to be a very lovely model, even has proper 3 link couplings
Fair review Sam, there are a couple of other detail faults as well, at least as far as modern standards aswell. As she is in LNER livery (pre 1946 to boot) she should have her home shed name ('York' / 'Gateshead' / whatever) on her front buffer beam like that Heljan 02 has and she has a blank number plate on the smoke box door. LNER loco;s didn't carry them until BR days, so it shouldn't be there at all. In fact her number should be on the buffer beam, both front and back. However she is a repro of the old Bachmann model, so you can't get too picky, and althogh she is dated by modern standards, those Mainline J72s set new standards in detail when first issued back in the 70's. As for the chassis issue, I wonder if she was made as such for the collectors market rather than the model railway opperators market. IE those collectors who like to keep their models 'stuffed' and static in glass cases rather than those who run them on layouts? Looking forward to the 4MT review. Jon
Ahh very well spotted with those Jon - I wouldn't have known this! And absolutely - they were incredible for the time, but not compared with what we have these days! Yes I'm sure that may be true, for collectors, - but you can still pick up an original one on Ebay quite cheaply, since they made so many! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
To be fair Sam, stating you can't DCC fit a split chassis locomotive is false information. Yes it is more difficult than fitting out a standard solid chassis locos but it's by no means impossible. I also agree they are more difficult to work with however I have myself DCC fitted a early Bachmann Rebuilt Patriot "Royal Scott" from memory and I've never had any splits or breaks in the plastic axle insulation and it, in some cases, maintains better rail connection than standard phosphor bronze loco pickups. Hope this helps mate, otherwise good video. Keep it up 👍
Hi there - yes this is true, technically speaking it can be done, but not without an awful lot of skill and practice! With this model, the chassis leaves no space for a decoder, so you'd need to cut away parts of the chassis in order to fit it in. Also isolating everything properly is very tricky with these - and so I never recommend it! It's true that the connection is generally better with these than with pick-ups, but it's indisputable that axle failure is rife - I get so many messages, emails and repair jobs from people with this issue! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Nice video, fair and honest. Don't know what happened with your graphics but the score changed from 6.64 to 6.00 when you put it into your table. Don't start doing a Bachmann will you.
Hi there, thanks a lot for that! I looked into it, and it was just a fault with the graphics - the system does have the correct score! Next time it's shown, it'll be correct again! Cheers, Sam :)
I think the GWR 2021 class 0-6-0PT is the odd one out. Firstly, it's a crying shame that it's not as good as one would've hoped. Secondly, it's not a cut on the real J72 (which I've fired/driven and I urge you to have a go on, if and when you get chance). Thirdly, would it inspire you to get a more up to date version of the model (if there is one available)? Also... The other class was the Ex-NBR D class (J83). A J73 is a slightly bigger version of the J72 and they look very much alike, unlike the J72 and J83 in comparison. Even as an LNER fan, I'm a bit disappointed with the model too and I don't blame you for the harsh review. Looking forward to the 4MT part, Mr Sam.
Well spotted Phil! Yeah I agree - it's a shame this wasn't better than it was, for the money! Ahh, so this doesn't do the real thing justice then?? Let's hope Bachmann's next new release of this is a lot less disappointing! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Bachmann really should of done the train pack as the preserved locomotives and updated the J72. Looks like the text was typed up last thing on a Friday and not much care was taken.
Yeah I agree - it's a shame they couldn't have updated the chassis for this - but at last it's happening soon - next year hopefully, it's getting a full retool! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
You should fit the J72 in the ‘’LNER black’’ in the next April Fools video!Very After al,love the pre-grouping/big fuor period tank engines.Keep up the good videos!😏😉
haha absolutely - lol! ;D Nah not really - they seemed to only produce a few, and then stopped - I guess they didn't sell well due to the cost?? Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I thought the engineering was amazing. I was really impressed with Richard Hallam's prototype. If Hornby had released a dutchess class, I would have baught it.
There's nothing wrong with the split chassis design if it's executed properly. Where they have gained a bad rep is through the use of sub-standard materials in the role of the plastic axles. Mainline was notorious for this through the use of nylon as the material choice for the axles and gears. More 'modern' releases of the split chassis design don't really have these issues, at least, none more so than any other form of loco chassis. Also, it is possible to install DCC decoders into models with this style of mechanism, the motor just needs to be insulated as in any other DCC install.
Hi Aaron - yeah I agree with you actually - I think it's a solid idea for picking up power - such a shame so many of the Bachmann/Mainline locos have issues with them! Yes it's definitely possible - but very difficult, and I never advise it for beginners! With this one in particular, it's also difficult to actually find a suitable place for the decoder, since the chassis fills so much of the body! Cheers, Sam :)
Great review mate, yeah shame about the split chassis, this one seems to be okay, ive got a older pannier tank with a split chassis and it runs okay, this one should really not have it though. A great pack let down by its content --- all the best mate
Sam I was thinking for a future video, you could do a review on the GNR Stirling Single by locomotion models. I'm not saying you should, it's entirely up to you.
you should consider doing a video with the J72 and the standerd 4MT in one video double headding or a nouther tender engine with the 4MT double headding or you could do some running sessions of double headding XD
Just playing devil's advocate but is the green loco the one that came in the original pack? Is it possible that, even though you bought it as "new", there was originally a black one in there and it's been replaced with the green one? Just chucking something into the equation LOL
i have just managed to buy my fathers old Triang davy crockett engine off of ebay, it comes with a carriage and has THE EXACT SERIAL NUMBER I thought it was just a triang Davy Crockett, but no it's the one originally in my father's care, a bit battered and bruised, but that's to be expected after being in the 'loving' care of a child
Hey Sam! Have you considered buying a scotrail first class 158 They are my favourite diesel because they are the engine that runs at my local railway. Sorry if I'm getting annoying Cheers! -Ewan

I won the Original J72 by mainline. The side rods have snapped and i'm trying to fix it but have no idea how to go around it
Ahh sorry to hear that mate - I sympathise with you, they really are quite tricky to restore :/
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I Just Saw on Hattons that there is an New-Tooled Version of the Bachmann J72. You Can pre-order one for 106 pounds
There certainly is! I've been looking forward to that for a while now! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Amazing review Sam.
Thanks so much!! :D
Sam,s trains can you do a race the j 72 vs thomas backman thomas? Please
Ooh that's a very fun idea - I'll have to try that! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
@@SamsTrains thankyou sam,s trains
Nice review mate , quite cheeky of them to put a model with such outdated mechanisms in a flashy train pack , even if it was from 2008! Looks nice enough from a distance though , will you be getting the updated one when that comes out? Nice seeing your J50 too , I had to send one back that I'd bought online last week as it ran like a bucket of bolts and made a horrendous grinding noise, quite disappointing as they look lovely!
Regards,
Alex.
Thanks a lot Alex - yeah I agree actually, but I guess you can't complain :/
Yes I have the updated one on pre-order - really looking forward to it!! :D
Ahh hope you get your J50 sorted!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Very nice! I got that pack for £99 from my local model shop. Both locomotives are very nice. The J72 is nice but basic, but I still like it. The Standard 4 you can open the smoke box. 😀
Wow that's a great deal - I bet you were happy with that one!! :D
Yeah I still like the J72 too! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Cheers,
Sam :)
My favorite steam locomotive is a green black 5 I love the look of it
Ooh great choice - yes they look gorgeous in the green! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
This tank engine is one of my favorite tank engines because it’s so awesome and cute
Ooh that's good to hear - yeah they really are very cute! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Very interesting Sam, and unfortunately another example of treating us like idiots. If it wasn't for reviews like yours, too many would be drawn in to pay extortionate prices for sub standard models. Looking forward to the Standard Class 4.
Thanks a lot Bob - yeah I agree, they do get a bit cheeky sometimes!
The standard 4 was much better - luckily!!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Amazing pack such a beautiful model! In the Railway Series, some of these black foreign engines are based on this! I’m glad one is preserved!
Thanks a lot Ryno! Ooh are they? I didn't know this - that's very cool! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Amazing British tank locomotive Sam trains 🚂
Thanks a lot Giovanni! :D
Have you ever seen or heard of American flyer trains? They're really fun and really old.
Yeah I've heard the name, never seen any though - I'll look them up, thanks for the tip! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Would have rated similarly
Now I’m excited to see the standard class 4.do you know if a tank engine and a tender engine ever doubleheader also do you like garratt locomotives. (I do 😃)
That's good to hear mate! Ooh yes the Standard 4 is gorgeous! Yes I'm pretty sure tank and tender engines did double head - and I love the Garratts! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hi mate, it's really up to you really! Where would you most often make use of it?? :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Apologies if this sounds irrelevant to this video, though some ideas I've had for Thomas OCs (original characters made by fans) are an LSWR G16 and an LNER Wheatly Y10.
Ooh sounds fantastic Vincent - I think those would make excellent characters! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
It's a very nice locomotive I wish they made an updated version
They are!! Hopefully they'll release it next year!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Can you do a video about the hornby P2 class
Yeah! I've done loads of vids on them!! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Does Hornby have locomotives with split chassis or is it just Bachmann’s locomotives?
Nah - I don't think Hornby have ever really done split chassis!
Cheers,
Sam :)
Hey Sam if you already have snarl diesel could you do a review on that plz plus it is bachmann
Ooh that does sound good - I'll look out for one! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Nice loco Sam!
Thanks Marco! :D
So can you do 1218 vs. Southern Pacific 4446?
Sounds great Liam - I'll look into doing this! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
or someone swished it, you did buy it from ebay, what's to say someone just replaced it with another engine?
Nahh definitely not - they're all like this! Bachmann haven't re-designed the mechanism for this. Next year's release will have complete redesign for the first time! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Nice review it’s such a beautiful engine.
Just wondering could you do a weathered loco running session? 😊 😆 that would be quite cool
Thanks again
Thanks a lot Faizan - and weathered running session is a great idea - I'll see how many I have! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I've got the Mainline version of this, and the paintwork on your Kader set is a bit nicer...
Thanks a lot for letting me know - yes those Kader ones must have been made much later, so that does add up!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
For your American collection I would recommend a shay locomotive
Ooh thanks for that _ i'll look those up! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
While the pack is nice, I’d recommend picking up the new Bachmann J72 that’s due for next year, looks to be a very lovely model, even has proper 3 link couplings
Thanks a lot mate, yeah I agree - really looking forward to the new release! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Which one out of the two will you want to have and drive in real life?
Oooh, I guess I'd want to drive the J72 - much more fun I bet! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hi Sam the tank is J47
Never heard of the J47 before?! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Oh I forgot, the locos were
. GWR 2021 Class pannier tank
. Midland 4f
. LNER J94
. LNER J15
And the lner tank engine was a J83
KOOTPGB
Ooh great work as always - well spotted!! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Hi Sam what was the engine on the turntable.
That's the Bachmann J39! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
plz come to fokstone toy fair 7 of October
I'd love to! I'll have a look where it is! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
3:00 I would've filled that spot with an exlcusive Kader 60th anniversary wagon or brakevan!
Yeah good idea - that would have sweetened the deal for sure!!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
October is coming in 2 weeks, It won't be too long now, and you need to get ready for Halloween.
I know!! haha yeah - I'm all ready for Halloween ;D
No Sam is giving good advice. The split chassis are more trouble than they're worth... if you have one that works the best advice is don't touch it!
Cheers,
Sam :)
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
You should fit the J72 in the ‘’LNER black’’ in the next April Fools video!Very After al,love the pre-grouping/big fuor period tank engines.Keep up the good videos!😏😉
haha absolutely - It'd fit in just fine there!!
Thanks a lot mate,
Sam :)
It's just like Whitechapel! It's *improved* black!
Do you know what happened Hornby Live Steam?
haha absolutely - lol! ;D
Nah not really - they seemed to only produce a few, and then stopped - I guess they didn't sell well due to the cost??
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Live steam was a bad move by Hornby, too small and too expensive.
Cheers,
Sam :)
Great video, as always.
Thank you! :D
Again a really nice review.
Thanks again Norbert! :D
A lovely little loco but would be better without the split chassie though
Thanks a lot George - and I agree, it'd be way better!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great review mate, yeah shame about the split chassis, this one seems to be okay, ive got a older pannier tank with a split chassis and it runs okay, this one should really not have it though. A great pack let down by its content --- all the best mate
Thanks a lot mate! Yeah for sure - this one's just fine at the moment, touch wood! Glad to hear yours is okay too! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Sam I was thinking for a future video, you could do a review on the GNR Stirling Single by locomotion models. I'm not saying you should, it's entirely up to you.
I would love to do that Kameron - but they're just so expensive, I dont' think I could justify it :/
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I understand completely Sam. Like I said, it's up to you. Thanks very much for the reply and I enjoyed watching as usual.
Sam is this dcc ready?
you should consider doing a video with the J72 and the standerd 4MT in one video double headding or a nouther tender engine with the 4MT double headding or you could do some running sessions of double headding XD
Ooh yeah that would be great - fantastic idea! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Just playing devil's advocate but is the green loco the one that came in the original pack? Is it possible that, even though you bought it as "new", there was originally a black one in there and it's been replaced with the green one? Just chucking something into the equation LOL
haha I did wonder that, but sure enough, they all have the green version!
Cheers,
Sam :)
This is why 0-6-0 locomotives are my favorite
Ooh I can see why - they are lovely! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
How many Ocean wagons you got?
haha I've lost count now - It's roughly 20 I think! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
i have just managed to buy my fathers old Triang davy crockett engine off of ebay, it comes with a carriage and has THE EXACT SERIAL NUMBER
I thought it was just a triang Davy Crockett, but no it's the one originally in my father's care, a bit battered and bruised, but that's to be expected after being in the 'loving' care of a child
Ooh that's incredible - they're very hard to find! So you reckon it's the very one he owned?? That's astonishing!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Awesome vid as per usual.
Thanks so much! :D

Ha ha Sam is keeping shush on this question, unless he is a lottery winner.
