Pinterest allows you to keep track of the things you find and like, and allows you to discover new things you're interested in, so it's quite different from a Google Search.

E.g Google: You look up studying tips and save some things Pinterest: You look up studying tips and save some things and then you get some stress relieving drink/food recipes recommended to you. I got an email saying someone log into my pinterest. First of all I never heard of pinterest before I got that email and it doesn't seem like something I would be interested in. When I clicked on a link within that email it went to a web page that looked like a pinterest login web page and it had my email listed there as if I was suppose to log in. I never created a pinterest account so I don't know what is going on?
Hi William, Is it possible that someone else may have created an account with your email address? If not, it's possible that you received a spam email from someone pretending to be Pinterest. Perhaps try reaching out to Pinterest's customer support team for help.

Because Pinterest is the scum of the earth, hacking into emails then spamming those that never joined, because they linked on to an article with no intention of joining.
Pinterest is not a shopping site itself, but you may come across pins advertising things for sale with links to a page where the item can be purchased.
If I look at things on Pinterest, do other people who know about me know what I've been looking at ? For example, I am a professional in the creativity world. I'm also a curious person. I genuinely like the photography of tattooed women. My fear is that on my professional Pinterest login, others who know me professionally are made aware of what I have pinned (in this case, Tattooed women)....... I just don't understand Pinterest enough to trust it, and maybe that's why there are a lot of fake IDs on it.
