When cleaning the toilet, start from the top of the system then handle, lid, seat, pedestal and then bowl, this is more hygienic as it stops the spread of germs from the interior to where you touch the most. Also when wiping the rim of the bowl it is best to use toilet roll with Disinfectant so then you can just flush it. Do you boil wash your cleaning cloths with some zoflora after cleaning, it kills everything on them.
@@holymags2495 I do that also. I use different color microfiber cloths for different rooms. I took a Sharpie marker and wrote the names of the rooms on each one also.
@@holymags2495 colour coding for different areas is alway preferable. But boil washing your cloths after each use is essential, the cloths you use in the bathroom harber 1000's of harmful bacteria. It is alway preferable to use something that can be flushed away after cleaning the toilet bowl, this cuts the chance of spreading the bacteria in any way. Colour coded cloths should be kept separate fro.m each other too. Sorry I'm a housekeeper for a private nursery. Sometimes it can seem a bit over the top to people but I assure you germs spread at such an astonishing rate.
I always line the bottoms of my bins with old newspaper, to catch any grossness and goopiness. And put some newspaper or recycling cardboard in the bottom of the bin liners too. It's a trick my mum taught me and it really helps prevent seepage xD Good work cleaning, Mr C. You really earned that gin!
I knew I was using a bit too much bleach in my kitchen and bathroom when my friend told me that she'd taken her kids swimming and they said "Mum, this place smells like Carolyn's house".
I have a dishwasher which I love but there's something very satisfying about washing the dishes. My Grandmother used to have a sink full of soapy water, rolled her sleeves up and washed the dishes, she never got over the fact there was hot water in the tap x Great video thanks
Happy easter 🐣 love how cleaning videos can take you from not having the energy to do your own cleaning to getting the motivation to get up & get going ♡ also your home is beautiful 😀 have a great day xx
Enjoyed your video so much!! I thank you for your honesty while cleaning your house. Sometimes we get so compulsive when cleaning, you’re a down to earth sort of person on your videos, I like it when not everything has to be so perfect. Your home looks great!!
Happy Easter🐣🐣🐣🐰Thanks for the motivation and a laugh. My cleaning tip is to lay a paper towel with some drops of essential oil on the bottom of the recycling bin so that the bad smell an the moisture can soak up. Greetings from Austria 🙋♀️
And the thing I will never understand in this country is not rinsing the dishes and just leaving them to dry with the dish soap water on. Why, just why? :)
mikka m so glad you posted this! I have wondered myself why UK folks don’t rinse the dish soap off before drying and putting away? Anyone know? Strange to me.... 🤔
It could be that the rinsing step has been edited out, but it seems that I see it often, the soapy things are put into the drainer and then dried and put away without being rinsed. 😳
I was just about to comment this. All the dirt and soap (which shouldn't be consumed) gets left to dry and later gets wet again with juice or food and creeps into the body. I've always found it odd....
Great motivation :) I'm watching this video and in the corner of my eye I can see the mess that I'm telling myself for a week now that I'm gonna sort it out, I guess today is the day :)
Good strong English breakfast with a little milk, gets me going. Great job cleaning, I imagine the house feels better after a good clean. When I have like scale build up, I use white vinegar soaked tea towels, let that sit a while and it wipes clean.
Nice thorough job! I usually use a washing up bowl for hot soapy washing water (wear gloves to protect your hands though) cold rinse cups and glasses with water running down outside of bowl because there’s nothing worse than ending up having a soap residue 🍷
Happy Easter Mr c 🐥🐣 thank you again for sharing your cleaning routine with us. 👍😊 I loved the fairy scourers . 👍 Will look out for them on thur wen I do my once a week shop. So satisfying to watch! For the cleaning clothes that you were putting in hot water after cleaning the kitchen -- I just put them in the washing machine washing them on 60 or 90 degrees, so maybe a little tip!
A tip for the base of the food waste bin - I put some kitchen roll in the bottom with some Zoflora or similar on (or tumble drier sheet) and this absorbs the yucky water and counteracts the smell ! Thank you for this video. I think many of us are cleaning things that we wouldn't normally do at the moment - I cleaned out our wardrobes and wiped down all the shelves etc before putting everything back in a much neater way than it was before.
awesome vlog mate, been a busy bee keeping your pad looking lovely, I must say I loved u in your clippers, very nice, it all looked lovely well done, give your self a thumb up . reminds me I will have to do the same with my flat:).
Hack for bins. Use a puppy pad in the bottom before putting in bin liner. Catches any leaks. I also spray or splash a drop or two of zoflora or essential oils on the puppy wee pad before putting in liner. Can be found at dollar store
Thanks for this - I needed a bit of a kick up my backside today to get started on cleaning which I've been putting off since Friday!! Three things I wanted to comment on especially; 1) I LOVE your cleaning slippers and how you casually still had them on for Tiger King and gin time! 😂 2) I always find it highly amusing how Brits let the sudsy water just drain off the washed dishes - up here in the Nordics we make sure to rinse everything before setting to dry (same thing with baths - we shower and rinse off after getting up from the tub) and 3) I love your narration style, it's very entertaining and relaxing - at the end of the video your voice sounded like a calm air stewart, I was almost expecting to hear about the in-flight entertainment and snacks 😁
@@MrCarrington Ah ok! 😊 I jumped to conclusions based on the time I lived in Dublin and my housemates always left the soapy water drain off,, and I kept thinking there might be a slippery side taste of "lemon breeze" or whatever fairy they were using 😁
Iwan a tip I learned was rather than using sprays for making a room smell nice which can be chemical smelling...get a spray bottle, pour some fabric softener (scent is ur choice) then a bit water in the bottle shake it to mix and then spray over sofas, carpet etc its safe and smells lovely and just as good as Fabreeze etc but kinder to your lungs etc, my brother has asthma so it was kinder for him too. Enjoyed this blog a lot, love a cuppa before I start cleaning, hope u had a lovely Easter x
Hi 😘 I never realized how lucky I've been that all of my previous apt. And homes had double kitchen sinks. I think your whole house clean was a super workout!!! Now I have to wonder why my hubby doesn't clean house. Lol Enjoy your week!! Take Care
Yes, we don't waste water in the UK, fill the sink or a bowl and start with the least greasy items. I do the same, then rinse them once I've emptied the sink ❤🇬🇧
I really needed this video after avoiding doing my cleaning for a few days 😂😂 putting the kettle on now and Easter eggs lined up to get me ready now!! ❤️
Thanks for the great cleaning motivation! I swear I'm going to diy some dust mop slippers like you have. Love them! A little tip for you. Once a month, put about 1/4 cup of baking soda down your kitchen drain then pour 1/2 cup white vinegar in it. Let it sit in the drain for about 10 minutes and then turn on the hot water and let it run for about 3 minutes. Keeps your drain pipe clean, unclogged and kills any smells. You can do this with all drains in your home. Happy Easter from the southeast coast of Florida🌴😎💙😎🌴
This is an awesome tip! I'm going to do this. I use my used lemons (cut into chunks) and ice cubes and then turn on the disposal. Gives it a nice lemony smell and cleans the blades. Mr Carrington has the best viewers with the awesome tips 👍

What a hard worker you are! It did surprise me that you washed the whole load of dishes and only rinsed a few.................I rinse everything :)
