"Cage realizes that MK III is inevitable" Which is funny considering that Johnny Cage wasn't originally a featured character in the initial MK III game, and didn't return until MK Trilogy which was pretty much a second add-on after UMK III of the original game.
+Squeaks The second It was mainly due to the fact that the actor (Daniel Pesina) that portrayed Johnny Cage had a fallout with Midway and Ed Boon over money, and they couldn't get another actor to portray the character in time of the deadline of MK III. Plus, I think Pesina went over his head and thought he owned the character to which he still used in advertisements for a game called "Bloodstorm" which was Daniel and his brother's failed attempt to knock off Mortal Kombat.
Always loved the announcer for mortal Kombat 2 overall!! He sounds intimidating as fuck!! I know MK 3 has the same voice actor but something about MK 2 that's just different
Look how old it is and the characters look so real and so awesome during the battles. There was a cheat code I still remember: "left down left, right down right, left left, right right" :D I've used this code to set up an option CPU vs CPU fighting and perform fatality 1, fatality 2 or friendship at the end. Bad thing was that you can only set fatality 1 OR fatality 2 OR friendship! Not all of them. I really wished to set all of them so the winner CPU to choose randomly which one to perform at the end! I just loved watching CPU vs CPU fights while I'm doing my homework. On SEGA mega drive 2 also the sounds and the music were better than these from the video. GREAT game that I will never forget!
@@AchtungBaby77 If I not mistaken, I believe I remember watching a documentary on Mortal Kombat and they said the hardest difficulty AI was programmed in such a way that the game read your controller inputs and then immediately executed the counter input so that it would always get the hit in.

I always loved using the nut buster when playing Johnny Cage for both MK I and II. When I was a kid I got in a lot of trouble for always ditching school to stay home and play Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis.
Good gameplay, you should use Johnny Cage uppercut more often esp for those jumpers. Its a good move for keeping opponents off esp while backed into the corner.
I love this johnny cage is my favorite look of al mk. I love all moves athletic. Absoloutly all his moves is athletic and position.put paused to see in slow motion all move Like another 11 caracter behind him or down
wau, fue increible, en este tambien te pasaste todo el juego con JOHNNY CAGE, muy bueno, en este fue cuando salieron los FRIENDSHIPS y la capacidad de los personajes de ejecutar un segundo FATALITY
I don't know if it's me, growing more mature in my perception and having seen the actors' interviewed for real a bunch of times but watching the arcade version I get these glimpses of clarity where I can actually tell "Hey that's Daniel Pesina" or maybe John Parrish. It's not in their fighting stance animation or walk animations which look almost as blurry as the SNES version (the version I know the best and it's still a great version) but there are fleeting frames where I can make the connection between the man and the image. For me it's mostly when Cage puts on his glasses and Pesina does that smile that's pretty much imperceptible on the SNES.

great times of my childhood bad ass game mk2

I just love that background sound when fatality sign appears. it's... OUTSTANDING
No, it’s flawless
Meeeewwww
Totally agree
I really wanna find a soundbite of it
They should've brought it back in other games.
The nut punch will remain the most iconic move in the history of mk
Oooohhhhhhhhh
More iconic than "GET OVER HERE!!!"
Not to mention Johnny Cage's reaction when done unto him.
Or what about the scorpion fire breathing? Subzero ice ball?
Taken from Bloodsport.
8:11 wow that Johnny Cage changed his pants from red to blue while falling!!!
I had never seen this bug
Guessing they didn't bother to change the sprite.
Not just that, but as he's falling (before the camera changes to overhead) he's screaming with his mouth closed!
Lies again? Mountain Blast
I used to beat the computer all the time with Johnny Cage man takes me back to 1994-96💪

The good Old days when the AI would grab you out of a sweep good memories.

MK always had the best audio, music and fight announcer.

Mk9 is the best
The Pit II Fatality always amazed me as a little fella.
I like how when you go to sweep them and they just grab you instead. WHY THE FUCK DO THEY DO THAT!?
Mk walker
Designed to take your coins brother
Johnny big cash flow cage one of my favorite fighter's to use in mk2 along with liu kang and jax.
I forgot how terribly cheap the AI was. Freaking Shang Tseung did a throw on him before he even finished landing his jump. 14:24
Designed to steal quarters
That's one thing I NEVER forgot with this game! The cheap AI was downright horrible.

I remember when I used to go through the arcade with Johnny Cage memeries👊
Ok we get it
Oh yeah, why DIDN'T you use Cage's Green Force Ball attacks? That could've given you some more range to pull some of your combos on.
The AI is very good at dodging the force ball. It’s more useful on Kintaro and Shao Kahn.
the best game ever
My childhood game too
