Choosing the steal ball means you either want to take all the money yourself (greedy and selfish) or you walk away with nothing (because you and your opponent were greedy and selfish). Choosing it because you don't trust your opponent doesn't result in a win for you...The only option is split in my opinion. That way you either both celebrate and walk away happy or you walk away empty handed but with your dignity at least.
