To be honest i'm getting sick of the hater's !! This young man is one of the most outstanding guitar players i have ever heard . He has something special , the fire within himself to play music . I have played guitar 40+ years and can tell his videos are not sped up . You can tell by the string bend/vibrato and tempo of the composition . This kid is simply awesome !!

This guy must have spend an eternity practicing to get this good, and the result of his hard work is truly outstanding, but still people have the nerve to say stupid stuff like; "Dude in the video, it's not about speed!" and "True guitar players have feeling".
What does this even mean?! When did speed and exquisite technique become the trademark of a "bad" guitar player?
Why not enjoy this incredible display of skill, instead of trying to put him down?
JP Jona I think what that people means id that he put so much effort in his technique that is no longer a musical expression and it becomes just a dude playing an instrument, not making music. Wich is stupid to say.

I agree man. I've been playing for 10 years now. It does require technique to be fast. But some guitarist make the mistake of jumping right up to full speed. And that's why a lot of they're playing doesn't sound clear. If you wanna be fast you gotta start slow so that u can learn what notes you're using. But yeah I know a lot of players that don't play fast that are absolutely phenomenal

A mi humilde entender, No es que a la gente no le guste como toca, el muchacho toca muy bien, Lo que sucede es que mete mucho dedo mucho, y prácticamente empalaga, y a veces, menos es más.
El que escuchó esta canción sabe que es de una banda argentina llamada ( Rata Blanca ) y que justamente el guitarrista Walter Giardino, se caracteriza por ser muy melódico en los solos.
Todo esto no quita que el muchacho toque bien.
No recuerdo bien cuál es pero Se que el está tocando una canción de Rata Blanca, Aunque sabemos que es posible que las técnicas y melodías sean las mismas en muchisimas canciones, pero estoy 100% seguro que es la canción de Rata.

You can't make a career out of just playing fast, (there's a million guys who can play this fast out there), but this kid seems to have something inside him besides speed on the fretboard. Far too much attention is placed on fretboard speed. To make it in today's music business as a guitarist, you need a lot more than just speed, you need artistry and heart and soul. I hope this kid develops those other important parts to become a complete guitarist, and maybe he'll have the chance to make some money before he gets bored and burned out. I wish him all the luck.
+Scott Gagel Mostly agree but having heart and soul plus talent is certainly no guarantee either. It's about being market-able and how they (music industry) can exploit you for their profits. Your assuming the industry cares about anything but money. Listen to George Lynch on the subject of how unfair the industry treats people. This is pretty amazing however!

Too many cuts, and I saw his slide down the neck then back up happen faster than humanly possible. He's definitely been sped up. Notice the cuts and choppiness of the video mainly when ppl walk by

This guy is amazing. His fingers are moving so fast that it almost looks like they're twitching. And all that talk about playing with "feeling", looks to me like that's what he was doing before the song began. Some people are just blessed with this kind of talent that to others it might seem like it's just mechanical but in reality, he's playing fast and with alot of feeling. Look at his expression. Sad to hear people unappreciative of talent like this. Great job dude! Loved the guitar playing.
No voy a decir que sea malo, porque no lo es, pero lo que hace no me dice nada. Sí, es increíble la técnica y la velocidad que tiene, pero eso me sorprendió 30 segundos. Después de 5 minutos de notas a toda hostia subiendo y bajando el mástil sin descanso me aburrí. Eso que hace está muy bien y me gustan mucho los guitarristas técnicos pero esto me parece pasarse un poco, extremadamente exagerado la cantidad de notas que habrá tocado en esos 7 minutos y ¿para qué? En la guitarra no todo es velocidad y velocidad y más velocidad. Lo que quiero decir es que parece que está haciendo un sprint intentado batir el record de notas por segundo en vez de tocar la guitarra.
¿A nivel técnico? Acojonante. ¿El resto? No me dice nada.
Y añado que me gustó mucho su versión del Still Loving You de Scorpions que tiene en youtube, nada que ver con esto.

Yo en ningún momento he dicho que sea un experto musical. Creo que no hay nada en mi comentario que de a entender eso. Simplemente estoy dando mi opinión personal, como entusiasta de la música y como músico aprendiz que soy. Si tanto interés tienes, sí, puedo leer una negra con puntillo pero te digo desde ya que tampoco tengo un conocimiento amplio, ni de mi instrumento, ni de armonía ni de solfeo. Por ello estoy estudiando duro para mejorar. Pero no creo que nada de eso tenga que ver con mi OPINIÓN personal.
Este chico con sólo coger su guitarra ya es mejor guitarrista y músico que yo y yo nunca he dicho lo contrario, lo cual no quiere decir que me tenga que gustar por cojones lo que hace porque sea mejor que yo o porque a ti te guste mucho o porque pienses que alguien tan bueno (que lo es) no puede hacer algo mal.
Carlos Periañez estoy de acuerdo, con carlos en este tema en particular no me gusta, como es un cover de RATA BLANCA el abuso de la escala menor armonica cansa, pero damian es muy talentoso tiene un gran sentido de la musicalidad , por ejemplo en burn , o sultan of swing , este tema es como escuchar un instrumental de jeff lommis osea aburrido y fome, no asi por ejemplo su tema propio desert que a pesar de ser en menor armonica es bastante mas rico, solo espero que este cabro siga en la senda de lo propio y original ya que Damian es muy talentoso, y lo dice alguien que si sabe leer partituras y a echo musica no como la mayoria que comenta mierda en este canal.

Muchísimo respeto y admiración por este artista. Pero es verdad que si no estuviera tocando a esa velocidad, muy pocos que pasaran dirían "qué buen guitarrista". Mucho menos "que tremendas armonías está armando" "mira el tono preciso y admirable que aplica en cada nota, con tanta paciencia y caudal sonoro". Estoy seguro que este violero tiene un tono que te vuela el cerebro, se debe haber matado estudiando. No creo que los que hayan comentado negativamente, hayan querido ofender o demostrar envidia. Todos los músicos estamos realmente hartos de tener que entretener el ojo de las personas, y no el oído. Ahora seguro ofendí el ego de algún oyente, es esperable. La realidad es que no se enseña a escuchar música en Argentina (en muy pocos lugares se da) por eso hay tanta pobreza en la música que suena en los medios masivos.
La música no se hace para analizarla, si es verdad. Pero este es un sector de comentarios, y simplemente dejé otro punto de vista, diferente a los que había leído. Expresé cómo me siento. Nada muy serio como para que yo necesite de tu compasión. Ahora, cuándo dije yo que es lo único que veo en la música? Acaso me conoces tan bien, que sabes cómo vivo la música? Y analizar las cosas es parte de lo que hace nuestra especie. A veces es chotito, como esta discusión y como todo lo que se vive en los comentarios en las redes sociales. Chotito mi análisis y chotita tu respuesta, un mundo bajo. Me resulta exageradamente tonto recibir un insulto así, de alguien que no me conoce de nada. Insultar a alguien que no conoces de absolutamente nada. No creo que alguien que intenta ofender a personas desconocidas en internet, tenga una profundidad muy grande. Estoy de acuerdo, ese análisis que has hecho debe ser lo mismo que percibió Roger Waters para invitarlo a su show a tocar y además a grabar un videoclip con él, y con tu mismo punto de vista deben haberlo visto los Integrates de Scorpions que lo llevaron a tocar a Alemania ante miles de personas, y además recibió elogios de Joe Satriani. Es cierto que en su calidad de "artista callejero" se obliga a estar mostrando constantemente su mejor artillería, pero evidentemente un oído entrenado como los de la gente que ya mencioné, detectan el brillantismo de este artista sin que pase desapercibido. Damián tien un gran futuro sin dudas.!!

Porque en una banda hay que componer y ejecutar música. :p No es concurso de velocidad. Ayer precisamente veía una clínica de Antonio Sánchez en Berklee donde hablaba de los halagos que recibía de parte de los bateristas cuando lo veían tocar aún viviendo en México. Pero nunca recibió halagos de músicos no bateristas, porque estaba enfocado sólo en la técnica y no en el lenguaje. Cuando llegó a Boston le cambió la mentalidad. Simple, el decía "Tus amigos bateristas te llamarán para tocar? No, los pianistas lo harán, los bajistas lo harán. Así que deja de querer impresionar a los bateristas".

Rastko Stanojevic It's not speeded up, (you can check the people walking on the street). And I live there, near this street. This guy always performs this way, with that speed.

When I saw people walking, it looked like video is speeded up. Anyway, even better if it's not :). Upload more if you have, it is always nice to see good guitar player.
Speed and technical accuracy is incredible and lots of hard work went into this guys performance. I am impressed. Guitar playing has evolved... I play also however, Most older guitarist like myself won't sacrifice passion and melody for speed. just my opinion.

i ve been playing for 23 years.........and my reaction (for the 2nd time saw this a couple of years ago and forgot about it) even the 2nd time around...was...."sshhhhhhhhjjjjjeeeeeeeezus!!!!!!!!" and my face went all ugly(ier than normal), I mean i can play the thing, but then i see this and realise what im doing is not playing guitar its blagging it, this guy is PLAYING!! skill is unreal but also great emotion in his playing

Hmmm..Sounds a little sped up and the video looks kinda weird. Look at the dudes head and arm. That's just not normal body movement. Not even the fastest players in the world look that weird. I see fishy work. Not saying he isn't good. Though somethings up with that video quality or something.
seems to... but prob cause the bad quality of the cameraman xD ... i don't honestly think is that hard to shred like this is just a technique that you have to practice like any other in order to be good at it. Speeded up or not still a good player.
