It's so cool to see other people discovered and used a trick I found by accident like fifteen years ago by over shooting a sword lunge! That drop is something I never saw anyone else do until I started looking runs up.
Just finished Quarantine Zone (Legendary without your incredible guide or speedrunning, just leisurely playing) and so far it's the only mission that has really made me rage on Legendary. It's a major pain in the ass, I feel as though the later flood missions won't be any better. God I love this game.
When I fought the Heretic Leader on normal(going though it first time around for fun and nostalgia), I sword lunged one of his clones, lost sight of any of them, and saw what looked like a clone on top of the ship. I sword lunged, and ended up killing the Heretic Leader in one sword attack and the level ended. The only memories I have of Halo 2 were playing it at a friends house since I didn't own an original Xbox, so I don't remember this fight very well, but I'm guessing that it was because I was on normal and the boss(es) gets more health on Legendary.
So in the room during 7:00 I actually got pushed through a pillar and fell out of the map when a flood hit me, could this possibly be used to skip the red door? Sorry I know i'm a bit late to comment being 2016 and all but its something that I feel could set the new record.
You will actually find that halo is really really easy to be accurate in for the sheer fact of there being next to no recoil. play S.W.A.T. get good enough at it and it makes the campigns a piece of cake. headshots for days :)
I never knew about that pressure launch, but if it makes you invincible I think I might have found a super big glitch that I was never able to complete, thanks, I'll try it soon.
When I'm on the lift, I jump down on the white arches the where the flood spawn and wait it out and keep jumping down once the death barriers have unloaded.
Interesting strat, I'll have to try it out sometime! I wonder if there are holes in the death barriers where we could just skip the whole room... let me know if you find anything!
So far I I've not managed to get further than an arch/slope above the door, it's hard to land without sliding off into the death barrier that's literally a few centimeters below it. I think the barriers are there as the flood jump and completely miss the lift, to stop them surviving and stopping other to spawn. That or Bungie are mean.

I’ve found that in the cable-cutting section, to make it through a little faster, you can sword a sentinel to boost your speed by doing a lunge attack.
I think I know a way to save like maybe 5 or 6 seconds on your version of the jump you do there is a small spot you can land on just before the last barrier where no one can attack you and once the floor starts moving for the last barrier you can drop right from the little spot
Thanks so much this worked for me on PC Version on Windows 10 the invicibilty mode with what you did felt down where you get killed where the flood falla down and any enemy that shoots me any like the flood heretics elites and grunts that worked! I felt like Superman that he doesn't feel pain I remember playing Lego Batman 2 as Superman or Wonder Woman they punch you you don't feel pain at all thanks a lot it worked! When the Heretic Leader was shooting at me I was unkillable!
In the elevator if you have 2 elites follow you in then give one a carbine then give the other a sentinal beem. One kills flood fast, and the other carbines the flood in the head sometimes and kills the sentinals. Really saved my elite ass.
Hi Eli you should do a speedrun and get as high a score possible and the community watching should try and beat it. Remember it will vary, obviously a quicker time means a better multiplier but with skulls and other things in play it could be anyones game. I'm waiting for more uploads so this is what I recommend :)
The window for waiting (after the invincibility glitch) for the floor to appear has decreased. Almost after cutting the last cable you need to get down the elevator shaft as soon as you can get there. I took the scenic route once and waited the three seconds the second time, the third time I waited two seconds a fourth time and finally, on my last attempt, I just booked it to the elevator shaft and jumped in. So, what happened the other times, you might ask? I was sealed on that part of the level. The elevator comes up and the button won't work to make it go back down.
Great run Eli! But in the final room I just stick the two heretics and kept meleeing them with the sword in a random pattern and it ends quite a bit quicker. On legendary of course.
Both elevator glitches shown on the video still work today. I had what you are describing happen to me once but it was because I waited too long to drop into the hole so it closed itself leaving me up there.
Tartarus is the one and only box slayer. He killed me with a box while I was in a banshee(across the room too)! If you don't get the banshee in the room, and decide to take cover behind a box, he'll just smash it away and scream in your face.

I watch this and wonder how you get the heretic leader to retreat into the vents? Playing Halo 2 for nearly 20 years regardless of difficulty he always dies with one or two sword strikes right off the bat unless I intentionally target his holograms. I don’t know if I just get lucky or something but that would save like two minutes
It does work. At first I thought it wasn't working either because I was dropping when the elevator started rotating. So next time I wait a bit longer after the rotation until the elevator actually starts going down, and bam, it worked.
Eli does the super bounce work when you cut the cable from the side and it bounces you to the next cable? Like what Monopoli did for his playthrough. I've tried to do it but it doesn't seem to work, but if it did work it would make this run shorter. Btw awesome run, can't believe you got it under 14 minutes.
When I was playing on normal, one of the flood forms didn't jump down to the platform while it was descending. And for some reason, there were no other spawns of flood. I killed him just before the end and then the spawns began again. I don't know if this could help or not but hopefully it does.

Any Tips on how to pull off Elevator Launch in Coop? It seems like one player gets launched up correctly but the other player gets lost in the middle of nowhere and you cant progress. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't understand how to do the elevator launch. When I do it the elevator just goes down and I go up only about one foot.

i use the fuel rod cannon against the heretic.
Find it odd that you didn't just choose to not participate in the elevator fight.. when the elevator descends you don't have to stay on it.
In thos mini boss battle with the heratic, u can just go invisible and sword jump hit him twice and and insta kill him

It doesn't make the run shorter, you need to wait for dialogue before you can destroy it

Only the PC version. It's a glitch with the physics of 60FPS, and since MCC runs the 60 FPS version from the PC port, the glitch got carried over.

No i did it in vista and it probably works on the original
PokemonTrioClub Only works in Vista and MCC. MCC uses the Vista physics engine, which was altered from the original game.
