"Is Eric touring soon?" Then I thought "Oh no he hasn't died" "Has he?" My fears were confirmed by the news voice over person. "Eric Carmen was 74" Now I can't stop crying. Not only did Eric help create one of the greatest, mind blowing Guitar riffs in Rock history, he then composed some of the most tasteful Ballads of all time. Good quality Ballads are extremely hard to write. Thanks for the great music and the brilliant singing voice Eric. Eric lived a successful existence and died peacefully in his sleep. This is amazing footage of the Raspberries in the recording studio! I can’t help but think of Eric’s later interview when he talked about having written songs that put his vocals in the stratosphere. “I did it to myself!” Great song - love the harmonies! And Eric just sails vocally on this one! It’s stood the test of time!
So many things about EC's songs are almost experimental, especially how he fiddles with structure. Check out the late bridge in this song, or how "I Wanna Be With You" has what must be the shortest first verse in the history of all time.

I love seeing the vintage films, my favorite group and I couldn't stay up late enough to see them on the midnight specials and other things. I would have been lucky to see them on American bandstand. But the subject matter they might not have been there very often
