@@DJAUDITS It's a distributor. They store video games and distribute them out to the stores like GAME, HMV (back in the day) and such. Back when the new CoD came out, they'd have extra security on just to stand next to the pallets to make sure no one touched them. Wasn't a pleasant place to work at to be honest.

I worked at that place on and off through agency back in the day, the staff are treated like cattle. A proper slave-driven place. Absolute rude and arrogant supervisors and managers. It's basically order-picking games and crap and then they box it up and send it on. A really BORING place to work. I feel sorry for anyone still there.
I worked there too back in summer 2012 ... I was upstairs doing order picking and then also downstairs loading a trailer ... idk but i remember it as a nice place with amazing people but again that was over 10 yrs ago a lot of probably have changed ...

what surprises me is that when i'm out taking stills photos people will do anything to dodge ruining my picture, they'll duck, hop, walk around me, and i usually explain i have photoshop (and now a pixel 7 that will automatically remove ugly people (!)) but when you video, people INSIST on walking right up to the lens and demand you stop and delete. they're mad.

The guy with the umbrella is the managing director if you can believe it, that security guard worked there all his life and trying to lie because he was instructed to and the member of staff that was angry at you is a team leader, if you want more information about this place ask away ! PDQ keeps stock for other companies and gets a small payment and centresoft buys their own games and sells them , it is the same company just 2 branches, they do not develop any kind of games and the offices are mostly empty, they do however do "rework" and what that mean is they buy plain cases, inlays for a specific game and cds/cartriges and puts them together and sells them, I heared rumours in the past that it might be kinda illegal, any other questions you have I am happy to respond !

@@stepheng8779 they are owned by activision, microsoft is trying to buy this place but the UK GOV did not allow it saying they do not want a monopoly, the biggest contract these guys have is with sony, they store and buy ps5 consoles and all the new released ps5 games and xbox then pdq distribuits to places like GAME, Argos and such while centresoft sells ps5s directly on their website and to big companies also, they make ALOT of money , these managers here are the highest payed managers in any warehouse while their staff is barely on minimum wage , I ll give you another spicy thing that happend here : when ps5 resealed you could not get it in any shop, everyone was selling it for 800-1000 on ebay and such, they had an employee discount for 10% which means that the managers and sales staff would buy the consoles at 400 pounds then scalping them at 800-1000 pounds, these people are full of shady stuff like that.

Security are - generally speaking - gate-meat, lumps of unskilled meat placed by gates, they don't really need communication skills, they're more of a deterrent, there's a reason these people aren't working in AI research or medicine, it wouldn't be worth the investment to train them how to communicate with humans.

I don't think they design the games there. I imagine they are just a distribution centre and that the offices were probably just there with the square footage of warehouse that they required. I think they are probably worried because the video game market is massive and if anyone broke in and stole a lot of video games it would be high value as they are not cheap.
