diamondback tool belt review

- This is a quick review of the Diamondback Artisan. My only complaint is that I should of made the purchase earlier. I have torn disc in my back and struggle with back pain, since I have been wearing my new bags I have seen a drastic improvement. Build quality is top notch, hammer holster is a game changer. Can't recommend these highly enough, most of all they are American Made! Keep it up Diamondback!
It is not for a typical employee. It is only for someone who cares about productivity, also at a cost of some loss of comfort.
Good to see there're some other guys excited about being efficient. Good luck mate ;-).
Thanks brother, you too!
Love the review!
To the point information. Very useful.
Glad it was helpful!
Really good review I have the same issues with the pouch sizes on my non dominant side. Hopefully they will loosen up over time but its hard to get any fastners in there. I had a set of oxy fat lips for 10+ years they are a really good tool belt but really big and bulky. I had suspenders for my oxy’s but I don’t need them for the diamondbacks. These bags feel really comfortable and the hammer holster is a game changer for sure I think Im going to get one of the clip on pouches to add more space for fastners thanks for the review.
thanks for the honest review . I have been running lowes leather bags for about 2 years and they have been broken for about that long. I am in the same boat . occidental or diamondback and this video sealed the deal. I do mostly sunrooms and poolhouses out here in Virginia Beach . Humid and fucking HOT A lot of framing as well as trim depending on the day . It sucks holding one hand on my hammer inside clients houses making sure nothing is banging into their furniture and or walls...etc .. and now after looking at the other comments I'm off to look at the Mcrose... Fuck anyways thanks again!
Nice review bro! How much slack do you have left on your belt after having it tight on your frame? I’m 185 and 5’9” and ended up getting a medium belt. It’s tight but I feel like if I lose weight I might have to get a small
I have quite a bit of slack, I have 32 in waist. I remember reading that when ordering consider when you run out more of your belt, the farther back your bags will ride, something to consider.
Hey you need to do more TOOL reviews. This is your most viewed video! Do more of these and bring more people to your channel! Grow from there. Keep making content
Thanks for the input that’s a very good point ! I appreciate it!
good review
Nice review. Hey is that the Diamondback 4inch belt you gave on there? How well does it support your back?
It’s okay, I see they have came out with a contoured version, I would try that or get the 6. Not enough surface area with the 4 in flat belt.
Not sure if I could get non leather I don’t like it. Those side pockets for fixings seem cool
I’ve seen a few people soak the bags in warm water and stuff them with cans until they dry to open the pouches up a bit more
thanks brother I am gonna try that!
@@AMAYERICAN Soak them and use an air bladder wedge/shim to stretch them out.
@@TrpDSgt do you use air bladders for setting doors/ windows? I’ve always thought that would be awesome, yet to buy one though. That’s a great idea by the way.
Soak em in cold water not hot and and feel the pockets with items like cans and etc to stretch them. I just got the Denali 2.0 and the card they came with has these instructions on it. Just dont put em in the dryer lol
@@bluerune7305 nice thanks how do you like the Denali 2.0? They look awesome. Thinking about buying.
Thanks for posting this video bud, I'm shopping around for a new belt system and this helps a lot. Cheers.
Glad to help, hard to get a feel without getting your hands on something but I can't recommend highly enough. Incredibly light and durable. My next purchase would be some of the grande bags for winter. Gloved hands will likely be a struggle with the artisan.
Good review. Bought the same setup about 1 year ago. Not a fan of it. Tool placement is excellent. Using them for nails and screws is not good, pouches all too tight. Also don't like how long they are, buy i'm only 5'8". The weird way you have to wear the belt up so high didn't work for me either. Back to my nylon occidental leathers 7 pouch for now. Have a custom set of Mcrose leather bags and I can highly recommend those. I bounce between the Occi's and Mcrose, depending on what I'm doing. Good luck.
I can see what your saying about the pouches being too tight, this winter is going to be rough. At some point Ill upgrade to bigger bags and keep the artisan for trim/ light rig. Im going to have to check out the Mcrose bags, I have never heard of them so thanks for sharing!
My tool belts never have enough belt holes I’ve started drinking beer after work to try solve this issue.
Everyone before you has done the same thing, that’s why they don’t make them smaller.
@@jaked1902 lol
Do the suspenders work good to keep the pressure off your hips
The bags are light enough that I still haven’t bought the suspenders yet. I think the contoured belt would be a great option tho.
Tnx. + super video and well explained.
Glad you liked it
Why do you carry so many tools when you are only doing one job at a time ffs
@@paulchapman5249 haha because I like to party.
What tools are in you tool belt and what power tools you use dewalt milwaukee
Mixed bag of milwaukee and dewalt mostly. Love my milwaukee rear handle blade left saw. In my opinion they make superior impacts. As far as my tool belt changes daily but in this video I had recently added a right angle impact adapter and EZ scribe that made this job a hell of alot easier. Other then that the staples: Stelleto, estwing cats paw, 1" multi-chisel, chalk box, Awl, speed square, mini comb square, line level, torpedo, 6 inch bit extension and various bits.
Got stringers?
Is that a 6 inch belt? I'm still deciding whether to buy a 4 or a 6 inch belt.
I have the 4 inch, I would recommend the 6inch if you buy the bigger pouches, the 4 seems to work well for the Artisan
Good review. Prefer the Oxy 7 bag leather framer and suspenders because they require less bending and are more open. Had them well over 25 yrs and tried other setups but always go back to Oxy's. Wish they had a hammer sleeve in the likes of DB but I am so used to the hammer loop in back layout that it's like second nature now. See more and more DB setups nowadays though. They are very well made. Just not for me.
I've always wanted a set of occidental but am very pleased with diamond backs. My only complaint is how the pouches do not open up as they break in. Too tight for my liking, operation with a gloved hand is going to be an issue this winter. Hammer sleeve is where its at though!
andrew mayer well your setup sure looks nice. For the pockets, never had an issue with the Oxy's. I also have the electrical setup and no issues there either. Guess as you rig unstiffs over time, the pockets will open up. Time will tell.
I’m surprised I don’t see more people with Diamond back dominant, Oxy leather non-dom set ups.
Try out buckaroo back saver belt with suspenders, im an Aussie roofer and buckaroo are all we use over here.
Will have to try thanks brother! How are things your way, it looks like it has been brutal with covid measures, hope you guys are hanging in there!
Most of the young chippies I know are getting over buckeroo including myself it's just to heavy compared to diamondback
Does your tool belt side down as you work through the day ?
Very rarely with my new bags, Diamondbacks are designed to ride higher above hips with more even weight displacement to lowback. I have back issues and these have made such a big difference I cant recommend enough.
I have a cheap setup with a similar belt that rides above the hips. Problem is they conflict with my pants belt, so i am constantly having to take the belt off and pull my pants back up and then but the belt back on. It does this no matter how tight my belt is.
I’m getting the suspenders sick of adjusting the damn thing all day
The diamondback website says the miter bag doesn’t have any slot for a speed square. Does your square ever fall out of the slot you have it in?
The miter that I have does, but in that slot there are also slots for screw drivers that once in a while gets hung up going back in. Honestly I would go with the grande, and buy the badger belt over diamond back. Check out clovis diy he has covered pretty extensively

What were you talking about? Sorry I was distracted! 😂
I think i want to buy the elias 2.0. But yeah nice setup u have
Definitely wish I would of gotten a little bit larger setup and wider belt. Check out ruclips.net/video/q3Y1kCssd0A/видео.htmlsi=rKqYhlAVwHmj0j6r
Super cool dude, makes excellent stuff, will be my next setup 👌
@@AMAYERICAN wow 🤩
What hanmer was that ?
Stilleto 14 oz smooth face, I feel it is a little light for framing. In the future I plan to buy a Martinez.
You have the curved or straight handle ?
@@atlerunde4536 curved and love that aspect
