      It is fun what can be found in these old cars.

    If you drop the door handle out of the door, there is a four digit code on the plunger with which you can easily have another key cut....if the car is still original, the key will also be correct for the ignition, glove box and trunk. The "odd" hammer is called a ball-peen.

      Thanks for the info on the door lock. I will do that. the hammer is not a usual ball peen. IT has a very odd design that must have been purpose built for something.

    The first tool you pulled out, after the type writer, was a sling-blade

    The unknown yard tool is a grass sickle.

    Wow...that car was full of junk...great job in cleaning it up. Good thing you had a positive attitude as it could be depressing in sorting out that stuff. 🙂

      So true! It is going to take me hours to sort through it all and decide what to keep.

    Greetings from Scotland. Great video guys, and what a difference a bit of effort and elbow grease makes. I always think that it’s a better experience working on a car that at least partially clean, and that goes for under the hood also. I don’t mean polish everything but just blow off the dirt and cobwebs… let the dog see the rabbit, so to speak.
    Anyway another interesting video, and Cristina got in amongst it also. Looking forward to the next will it run.
    In the meantime cheers & take care.

    wow, what a junkyard... the only valuable things I ever found in a car I bought were the (deceased) previous owners drivers license and the expired car's papers... the license was printed on cotton, from '56 (which is why we germans refer to "Lappen", rag, when talking about a drivers' license), and the papers was the one going with the car. it was all-green and those weren't given out since early 80's... (the actual title isn't supposed to stay stored in the car, because you can easily re-register if you steal it, and the actual owner would have a blast trying to prove who owns the vehicle) since I didn't know much more about the car I made sure these items went with it when I sold it years later.
    I used to collect hubcaps myself when I was a kid. for a while I could find them big steel mercedes hubcaps left and right. it was the time when the clamps in the back would break off from rust, and once the cap was down to three clamps left, it would eventually fall off... XD thet chevrolet hubcap is good to go to the wall. judging from the ripping and gaps it would fall off the wheel soon, anyway.
    considering how many parts you found going to the grand prix, maybe you should go back and buy that car, too. :) you already have half of it, anyway. ;)

    I recognize that red, white and blue thing as an 8-track from decades ago! The plug has both hot signal leads and the 12v positive lead for power. The body was used as the ground for both in many cases.

      Thanks Richard. How did this plug into a radio?

    • @richardcline1337
      @richardcline1337 Год назад

      @@whattherust, It didn't. It had it's own speakers or else there was a switch mounted that allowed the radio and the tape deck to use the same speakers but never at the same time.

    you need that sling blade to cut grass around some of the cars you show
