@@GreenLightSound it’s refreshing to see someone use Studio One. I’ve been an S1 user for 5 years now, and I think the only downfall has been the high CPU usage. Are you using S1 5? and if so, do you still encounter the CPU issue?
Man, these videos are crazy! I've watched so many different channels and they always show the same tips and tricks. It's awesome finding a channel that has original unique content, every video I learn a cool new trick or technique. Thanks and keep up the good work :)
I use to hear this kind of effects on Laura Branigan type vocals and try to figuar out like you show, the delay in to reverb and try to make it, now i can understand much more easy thank you.
Love these videos. Would definitely love to see one regarding Andy Wallace's use of drum samples and the pitching he did to the snare drum white noise.
nice technique. Very clear instruction. I think the CLA Epic reverb has options to feed delay into verb all in the same plug in. These techniques are awesome.
Love this, I'm going to use this in my production too. Also wanted know 1.21 what do you mean by copy of main vocal to the delay? We have to Send the vocals too the delay then delay to the reverb right? Can you help me out with this brother,it would be great
hello, i have a question, please I already use to send my voice to an LX480 Plate A, so would I have to create another bus just for this technique, and the voice going to 2 reverb buses? Or do I just create a reverb bus? Thanks
You could use the reverb you already have set up, or you could create another buss and use 2 reverbs. It's really up to you and what sound you're going for.
@@GreenLightSound ok, so for example, when you’re planning the delay to the left, you’re taking that 100 percent on the right side and bring it over slightly to the left as displayed in your video? (I bring this up as I use pro tools whose stereo display looks different, showing right and left).
@@calimusic2007 In Pro Tools, turn both pan pots to the left the amount you want. It essentially creates a mono delay, even though it's a stereo track.
@@GreenLightSound I use Little Microshift on my synths all the time. Setting 1 with no more than about 10% on the mix dial….. so subtle but quite beautiful.
Thank you for great video. Interesting technique. I have 2 questions. What are settings on both delay and reverb? Do you use standard slap back delay with 110-130ms on the delay? And also second question. Do you EQ that delay sent with aggressive HPF (around 500Hz) aggressive LPF as you would normally do with standard delay? Thank you.
The delay was an 8th note delay synched to the session. The reverb was the Jazz Hall setting of the Lexicon 480L. No filtering on the delay, but you certainly could.
@@GreenLightSound that's interesting as with normal slap back delay to create ambience and still have the vocals upfront (as reverb by its nature put things back in the mix) you normally use 110-130ms with delay NOT synthed to the tempo. Is this technique an exception? Thank you for your time
Please dont ever stop making videos! I'm learning A LOT with the channel. Congrats
Thank you!
@@GreenLightSound Same, i learn Andy Wallace techniques from you! Thank you!
I second this!!
This Andy Wallace serie is great! Thanks again for making it all a little clearer.
Yeah great, and watch a animated series about Andy Wallace?
This channel is a damn goldmine. you sir are a king. Thank you!
Thanks!
Quickly becoming one of my favorite mixing channels!
Glad you enjoy it!

I'm on Studio One 5 and am not seeing higher than usual CPU usage. A lot of it depends on your system.
Great idea, I usually send all my delays to reverbs but never thought of panning and making that obvious this way. Your mix sounds great!

Really like the offsetting the vocals from center something I will keep in mind next time mixing, thanks!
Thank you for doing these!
Excelent!! More A.Wallace tricks please!

Epic can route delay to reverb, and it even has a version of the PCM42 delay and 480L reverb. I don't think it can pan them though.
Wow, really nice. Thanks you so much!
You're welcome!
Always great tips from you. Thanks..

You got it right - it's just a send.
Hehe, those panoramas drive my OCD like crazy. 😃 But great things to do, really out of the box thinking.
Thanks, much appreciated
subbed, awesome video
Thanks!
nice one!
Amazing!😍👏👍🙌🌟🎊
I don't have Repeater so what kind of delay settings am I using?
Songs really catchy. Is it a new release or something that’s coming??

Do you think about doing techniques for other mixers too?! for example Chris Lord-Alge?!
@@tplms Definitely going to expand to other mixers in the future.
@@josephgreenhalgh4041 Thanks.
The off center is balanced with the delay beeing just a bit louder than reverb isnt?
Hey Joe, thanks for the enlightening video. Are both the delay and reverb mono, stereo, or mono to stereo?
Stereo.

what's the source of these informations? specifically the one where he pans the lead vocal
That came from a print interview.
Curious if you use any Vox doubling plugs? Sooo many out there.
I either use my own plugin chain with subtle pitch shifts on the L and R channels, or Microshift from Soundtoys.

Depends on the size of the mix - how many tracks it is.

Hmmm no more than 20 Tracks
Usually $199.
