Thanks Guys - nice review on Springsteen, his songwriting is like a conscience for America ~ Perhaps they'll listen...

Bruce's hometown is actually my hometown and the town I currently live in! Bruce still lives 10 minutes away from me in the next town over!

An asbsolute classic. I love it, my favourite Bruce album. Bobby Jean, No surrender, I'm goin' down, downbound train, cover me they're all good on this album!

I was lucky to see him perform this from start to finish back in 2013. The track that really gets to me is My hometown. Glory Days is a great track to sing along to, witch really goes for the whole album, but that one sticks out :)

Another underrated album is probably The Village Green Preservation Society by the Kinks. Check it out

Guys, you're killing me here. Thriller, Kick, The Joshua Tree now this. The eighties, the soundtrack of my life. I feel about Springsteen the way I feel about Bowie, I like them but I'm not in love with them. I do own this CD and, as usual, you make me want to hear it AGAIN. I love "Dancing In The Dark," "My Hometown" is excellent I agree, "Cover Me" and "I'm On Fire" are the songs I love. You're right Shawn "Born In The USA" is overplayed but, again, since I have a good idea what it's about, I should hear it again. "Glory Days" isn't a favorite but, I don't hate it. So, this week, after listening to Station To Station, Young Americans, Sticky Finger and Ten, which I own, I'm going to have to listen to The Joshua Tree, which I own, and Born In The USA. I think I'm going have to write you guys a book report or something. After Springsteen and U2, it's hopefully Badfinger and Tom Petty👍

haha yes book report double spaced at least 3 pages haha. Born to Run is better than Born in the USA and his new album that dropped on Friday - Letter To You very well may be better than Born in the USA which I know is quite the statement!

@@ReactionsToTheClassics Wow, that's a huge statement. I haven't seen your Born To Run review so, I must watch. I didn't know Springsteen was coming out w/another album. I was listening to Born In The USA today while I was running errands. I seem to like it better every time I hear it. Oh, about the book report, I might be a day late, will that affect my grade?!😊

This is a better pop record than a Springsteen record. It's not even in the top five Springsteen records. Still very good songwriting, top playing, etc., but a pop record that caught the zeitgeist as the misunderstood title track's story shows.

My one knock against "Glory Days" is he says speedball instead of fastball. Speedball is a way to measure cocaine. I realize speedball fits the meter better, but still.

Listen to the "Born in the USA" version on Tracks, it's a lot angrier.

Personally, I could do without BITUSA & DITD, but totally agree it's an underrated album. Love love love My Hometown, I'm Going Down, Downbound Train, No Surrender n Glory Days

@@ctohyc My Hometown was such a good way to end the album in my opinion. Some nice songs in here too that don't get talked about much like Downbound Train and No Surrender as you mention. Thanks for watching!

The only song I regularly skip on the Born in the USA album is... Born in the USA. To me it's the weakest song on the album but maybe that's just because it's overplayed and massively misunderstood by many.

Many great songs and some a bit more forgettable. That’s OK, Springsteen can be uneven. But like many other albums with a certain, pompous, "eighties sound", Born In the USA has not aged that well.
