Florida still has not learned, STOP BUILDING WITH WOOD! Build with brick, stone, concrete.

Brick, stone, and concrete will not stop the destructive power of Cat 5 Hurricanes and tornadoes.

Most buildings that were totalled were built Pre-Hurricane Andrew since then the building codes were greatly updated and it shows in Ft. Myers. Most of the structures built after the changes of the building codes faired very well. To add to this the waters rose over 15 feet and blew right through anything in it's way. Not much is going to stop that part. Jus Sayin.... The thing about Ft. Myers was those older places that made the area look more rustic. The future will be Condo's and a concrete empire of shops and all the quaintness of Ft. Myers bch and Estero is gone... Went through there last week and as a Floridian who has been through a fair share of hurricanes I am greatly disappointed at the local and state for not cutting through all the red tape and letting people rebuild their lives.

My woof frame home has withstood three major hurricanes and sustained only minor damage since I built it in 1988.

Just in time for another hurricane season! Beaches are FRONTLINE and most homeowner's insurance LEFT THE STATE or went INSOLVENT.

My company renewed my policy at a much lower premium than I was led to believe by the doomsayers in the press and much of my 35 year old home is in better than new condition now.

😂😂😂. That's why you have homeowners insurance why should california the most state that funds the federal government help floridians for talking shit about California. California helps their own when a disaster happens.

@@felipenunez2058 When the big one hits, and California breaks off and falls into the ocean, the rest of the country will rejoice.

@@jeffhampton2767 🤣🤣🤣. How long have they been saying that for. Florida might get swallowed by the ocean before that happens. Yellowstone might erupt and destroy the western hemisphere before that happens. Goofy ass. If california goes down under say good bye to the US economy their goes the majority of the US gdp.
