Imagine everything he needed was in his path to his mum's house. The life jacket and the kayak. The angels were there with him and his family. What an amazing story. He seems really nice.
What a good son would’ve done was made sure she wouldn’t have been in her ONE STORY HOUSE when a cat4 (2mph short of a cat 5) hurricane was heading straight towards them with 9ft PLUS of storm surge.
And took the time to record the journey and even snapped a selfie with his mom in neck-high flood waters before he put her up out of the water. Such a good boy. smh

THANK GOD MAMA WAS RESCUED AT THE RIGHT TIME. JOHNNY, YOU MOM HAS THE BEST SON, AND YOUR WIFE HAS THE BEST HUBBY. YOUR SON WAS AWSOME ALSO. WHAT A FANTASTIC STORY!!
He almost didn't rescue her at the right time. If he took much more time getting his camera ready or moving slow enough that he could make sure he was in frame at all times, she may have drowned. Imagine if he dropped his camera. Then he would have wasted more time to retrieve it. He even paused to take a picture of her and a selfie with her before getting her out of the water. If it was my mom, #1, she would have been at my house or I would have been at hers and #2, if I thought my mom was in trouble enough that I needed to go out in rising flood waters, I damn sure wouldn't think to record it.
Moral of the story.. don't be stubborn and make others have to rescue you.. you're part of the family mom.... you're not a burden..listen to grown children..
@@Speakupok uhh plenty of time was given for evacuation notices. This was stupidity. He left his own family to hide in what was it? An attic crawl space to save his mother that he abandoned in the first place? All the while, his own family was at risk of drowning. For what? To show off? “She refused to leave.” Ok bye then. Or “she refused to leave…so I threw her over my shoulder and brought her to the ‘safety’ of my own home that was also under water.” Glad they made it out. Hope the infections are healing smoothly. That stuff comes on quick and sucks so much.

First of you should of never left her there by herself. I understand how difficult elders can be with leaving home. As the adult you will have to take control no matter what and step in.
I left during the end of the storm to go to my parents because I hadn’t heard from them for several hours. Everyone was fine but they were trapped in their neighborhood. Worked with my dad to unblock their way out and headed back home.
