  • Ever wondered what Final Fantasy VIII-2 might look like? As a unique entry to the Final Fantasy series with many questions left unanswered, this episode considers how a FF8 sequel might address this continuity, tie up loose ends and extend the branching narratives to a logical conclusion.
    This game discourse considers:
    The aftermath of the Galbadia war
    Sorceress Rinoa
    What happens with Squall and Seifer
    What the heck is Great Hyne
    Ellone and the Centra
    FFVIII-2 vs a FF8 Remake
    I reference aspects of FF8 lore which can be referenced in the following places:
    Great Hyne:

    Vienne Mountains, Zefer & Seifer's Romantic Dream:

    Rather than a Final Fantasy 8 Remake, I personally think the setting and story leaves off most fittingly for a Final Fantasy VIII-2 style sequel. Btw seifer is the sorceress s knight because he watched the movie laguna made fighting the ruby dragon as the sorceress s knight. He even uses the blade the same way Laguna does fighting the dragon.. Rinoa is ultimica (ignore the writer debunk) which is why she thinks she likes seifer first before Squall because the future her ultimica knows he will be the sorceress s knight

    Squall, Selphie, and Zell are still contractually obligated to help the Forest Owls liberate Timber from Galbadia. This was never addressed and the game just ended after Ultimecia's defeat. So there's that at least. A prequel starring Laguna, Kiros, Ward, and Moombas would be great as well.

      Redcoat I never had any love nor hate for this game but to me it had the most sentimental value as it was part of my teen years, and in a variety of playthroughs I ended up exploring many options in how to play the game at my disposal. All I have to say is... mind blown. This was an incredibly thought out sequel. Loved to see it come to fruition. I wrote a my own sequel idea idea while I was in high school.
    My idea consisted of a virus wiping out the Guardian Forces as a result of Time Compression/Junction system a few years after the original game. The antagonist would be a soldier who fought with Laguna during the original war. The antagonist's story is he, Laguna, and a squad of troopers were raiding the Deep Sea Research Center to learn more about junctioning and the Ultima Weapon GF. It goes south and the antagonist is trapped in a dimensional rift as a result of the initial time compression, merging with an evil GF to survive. He later emerges to wreak havoc on the world. The antagonist's presence would be the source of the problem of the virus. He'd also dual wield gunblades for some fan service.

    Love this! Most of this is so fitting of the world and themes of ffviii, and I'd love to see a sequel incorporating these ideas.
    A few thoughts: I don't really think Rinoa would willingly go into hiding so soon after being launched into space in FFVIII. I think she is the type to try and take things into her own hands. What I suggest to have things end up in about the same place would be to have her go on her own, possibly to confront Caraway after escaping Selphie and Zell. I think she would witness his death, and would soon make her way to the orphanage after maybe hearing of a sort of lead. Maybe she would meet Seifer as he is wandering and trying to find a bit of purpose after the events of the first game, reluctant to see Edea and Cid again. She would eventually become so concerned with her visions that she would decide to go speak to Edea. She would probably end up leaving Seifer after not being able to convince him to go with her, but he would meet up with her at some point and they would fight a boss battle together. At the orphanage they meet up with Zell and Selphie who made their way there and stayed instead of continuing their search for her because Edea hinted at having a feeling she would show up soon. From there the rest of the events would be about the same. I think I also disagree with Seifer dying in the end as a final act of redemption, for a few reasons: 1. I think it's a bit of a tired trope to be honest lol, just my own opinion. 2. FFVIII in particular seems to show a theme of redemption through living on and doing your best that way. You can see that with Edea, with Rinoa, arguably with Squall (who maybe never would have died, but at some point probably didn't care much either way until he decided to actively try and protect the people he cares about instead of giving up and going back into his shell). It's also why we see Seifer alive at the end of the game, in my opinion. Moving on in life and finding new reasons to live is a huge central theme in my opinion, and killing him off might take away from that. Again, just my two cents with a few small tweaks that I'd personally make :)
    I would also love to see Ellone as a party member. Maybe she would bridge the connection between Rinoa and Squall throughout. I just think not utilizing her and Rinoa more would be a waste since there is so much more to be explored with their powers!

  • @renlerose7964

    I always had this in mind for sequal. After the garden last party, Rinoa ask around if anybody remember Squall, and everyone say " who squall ?" Rinoa become more and more obsess with this illusive figure particularly a voice saying " ill be here", Rinoa start learning forbidden magic, enter secret league of sorcerer and junction with powerful gf and losing her memory to the point she forget her name, still her strong feeling toward searching the truth grew endeavoring more and more in to time magic. While her plan to perfect her magic, an group of seed in the past are trying to prevent her. The game sequal perhaps could be a journey of breaking this cycle.

    This was well put, I loved the part where Seifer ended up back in the Esther Mountains where Laguna played the knight he grew up admiring. I think this would be a great end to the first disk. I would like see Hyne as a last ditch effort try to send Seifer somewhere into the distant future where sorceress Ultimecia is. Just as the first game would have flashback to Laguna, there could be "flash fordwards " to Seifer alone in the future. It could go deep in to Seifer psyche like they did for Cloud in FF7. We could also see Ultimecia before she turned evil and get a closer look at her psyche.
    Squall and the gang would have to figure out a way to get Seifer back, they could continue the story on how Ultimecia became evil and got Squalls ring, and stop a fully powered up Hyne!

    • @AlleywayJack
      @AlleywayJack  5 лет назад +5

  • @Capydapy

    I loved it! Though the only problem that I have with it is that Squall would never "give Rinoa up", I mean he risked his life for her in space and Quistis told him off for giving up Rinoa to Esthar. It would be silly for him to do it again after that. Maybe Rinoa sneaks out on Squall and goes alone because Squall is busy with all this government and politics stress that she doesn't want to add more stress on Squall with her sorceress fears and nightmares. Maybe she steals the airship herself and meets Seifer at the orphanage etc. And then the airship is stolen by some higher-ups. Also, Squall waking up to find Rinoa gone and missing would play with his fears and worries about losing people...maybe Squall goes back to his "CD 1 self" or just locks himself in his room and Laguna has to break him out of it.
    About Seifer, I think him dying would be too predictable. Maybe it looks like he's about to die, but Zell ( I love Zell but...) takes the hit instead. Maybe because he was always bullied by Seifer, he doesn't take or trust Seifer at first but then learns that Seifer is being 100 % serious and wants to be a changed man. Zell doesn't die either, but he's heavily injured and weak and Seifer just cannot believe it... that somebody that he's treated so poorly would do that for him...
    And maybe instead of a funeral for Zell- Zell wakes up in the hospital with many many many plates of hot dogs around him and smiles gleefully. Idk, that just feels more "FF8ish".
    Apart from that, I love this idea and I hope that Square follows this one day.

    • @AlleywayJack
      @AlleywayJack  5 лет назад +6

      Zell!? 😱 ...that's actually a great idea, because I love that guy and so do many others, and as you say his sacrifice would completely juxtapose with Seifers character which I really like.
      Regarding the Rinoa thing, I did have mixed feelings about whether he's do that after what the first game developed him into, however I was keen to maintain development in him somehow rather than having him trying to manage geopolitics whilst still guarding his girlfriend. Really enjoyed your ideas though!

    I was reading up on the FF Ultimania regarding 8’s epilogue recently, and it hints that Rinoa would SOMEHOW teach magic to SeeDs without the assistance of Junction. With the Ultimania essentially being in-depth lore, I would definitely like to see that coming to play especially with the battle system. Maybe even going back to the tried-and-true armor and accessories system for defense and status buffs while we’re at it. Maybe even look to the new weaponry that appeared for FF8’s appearance in Final Fantasy Record Keeper; which would be new weapons that put the old endgame weapons to shame.
    With this added, I would definitely say that a lot of these ideas you used in this fanfiction of yours, especially with regards to the political turmoil setting would most certainly work.

      There DEFINITELY is a way to enhance your capabilities in FF8's world without GF junctioning and the progressive amnesia it entails, otherwise Trabia and Galbadia gardens would be incredibly inept when compared to Balamb. Also, Irvine mentioned not having junctioned anything prior to joining the party.
      So, Rinoa coming up with a way to preserve fight power, retaining memories and having GFs as summons sans the amnesia part would be great. It would remove the incovenience of not casting a specific magic if it's junctioned to a stat.

    I listened to it again. Third time now, and I still love it. But I really think Squall and Rinoa need to remain connected somehow even though they are apart. Perhaps as a sorceress, she can appear in his dreams to offer love and support, and he can appear as the voice of reason inside her head when her tendency otherwise might be to act rashly because this is Rinoa we are talking about. I think it would be great to explore this mental bond between them as sorceress and knight, lovers, and as a couple that have been bound profoundly to one another by the act of traveling through eons of time and space on their return from time compression. Personally, I wouldn't like to see them spend too much time apart without there being any connection there. Also, Laguna dying instead of Caraway might serve the story just as well as if Squall is to become a leader why not of Esthar where he can oversee their full integration back into the wider world. I'd love to see SE take these ideas and turn them into a real game, but the probability of that happening are probably slim to none. The only complaint I have was there was no character development for Selphie, Quistis, and the rest. They pretty much are relegated to the roles of sidekicks and I feel like they too should have arcs. Selphie going from student to teacher would be cool to see. Quistis going from disgraced former teacher to general badass blue mage and maybe lead monster and sorceress researcher at the Ester library , being instrumental in finding out how to defeat Hein would be incredible. Not sure what you could do with the others. This almost is enough to make a part 2 of this video!

    This is an excellent proposal for a sequel. The only remaining thread that I would like to see briefly explored (potentially in a dialogue-free post-credits scene?) would somehow link to the future and the rise of Ultimecia, given that there still either has to be a succession of witches that finally leads to the sorceress powers ending up in her lap, or at least some explanation of how the Time Compression has changed this metaphysical law.

    Instead of, by defeating Hyne, and ending the succession, it should in some way directly lead to Ultimecia becoming who she is:. An incredibly powerful, lonely, scared, hated sorceress.

    Great vid bro. I told you in an other comment I was making a fan game but came here to explore story ideas. Some things... I believe that Caraway could perhaps run for office as Galbadian President. Also I like the idea of Dollet becoming the main antagonist, but I had another thought. What if the game begins with the funeral of the Duke and his successor is the new Duchess of Dollet, who shares a lot of the same powers as Ellone. My thinking is that, given that the Centra descend from the Holy Dollet Empire, and Ellone has the Centra's powers, maybe one of her parents is royalty in Dollet but fled that life for a quiet life, or was exiled when the Duke came to power, and both Ellone and the Duchess are the first in hundreds of years to possess these powers, both related by blood and cousins. But whereas Ellone is kind, this Duchess has grown up with a more privileged and entitled background, believing the restoration of the empire to be the ultimate goal, with the power of the sorceress as a means to that end. In more cliche terms, she could be like Ellone's dark opposite.
    It could also transpire that she used her powers to kill the Duke for going soft on Galbadia, as she saw the opportunity to seize Galbadia as the first step on rebuilding. We could also see the creation of a new enemy force called the Black SeeD who are built like a praetorian guard unit to protect the Duchess, destroy Garden and seek out these Centra artifacts. The leader of the Black SeeD, could be some form of Hyne (although he is fragmented.) Rinoa of course quickly becomes a target because perhaps only she has the power to unlock these artifacts. Perhaps Squall leaves with Rinoa to be her knight while Rinoa places charge of the Garden in Seifer's hands believing that he has it within him to redeem himself. Though I think Caraway will take this as a sleight as Seifer usurped his role in the military and will not trust him. Hyne could kill the Duchess when he gets what he wants, the artifacts and Rinoa, but not before the Duchess aids the party giving them a vision into the future that reveals how he might be defeated.
    Hyne split his essence in two, perhaps one the body which is a crystal artifact that was shattered in rage when they discovered it had no power. And the other is his soul which was split and embodied into the sorceresses who wield his power. And Hyne, angered by the shattering of his crystal, threatens to re-emerge. Ultimecia IMO is Hyne. She is his coalesced form in the far future, and she in FF8 could be "kursing" SeeD because they essentially killed Hyne's body (the artifacts) in this FFVIII-2 sequel. So the motive for the villain in part 1, is something that occurs in part 2. Anyhow just some thoughts to add onto your own. I don't think Hyne can be a person, because Hyne IS the succession of witches. That is his power, the half of himself he genuinely did offer to humanity, while humanity fought and killed each other over his non-magical skin. Would you be ok if we integrated some plot points into this fan game? Plan to reveal story details in the from of Garden Intranet social media-esque news articles, and NPC dialogue.

    A lot of people hate when franchises delve deep into geopolitics (Star Wars prequels for example) but I’ve always loved it. On one hand it would do well for people to understand how these intricate dynamics usually play out both irl and fiction. Plus it makes for a complex yet grounded narrative with deeper meaning in even the smallest of actions/dialogue. It’s especially great here since a more grounded narrative would help ease one of the biggest complaints with the original (it’s over the top convoluted story).
    I recently played through the original again and one thing that really struck me was just how deep it’s symbolism ran (things that didn’t quite click when I was younger) so how you’ve tied everything together really drives the story forward.
    A long winded way to say amazing work!

      Thanks Jacob :) and yeah I enjoy all the political narrative stuff too. I think if there's a moral/human story beneath it all (Squall or Anakin Skywalker for example) it can have slightly more universal appeal to audiences who don't like politics, but it's about getting that balance right, because some of us want to see all the poltical drama too!

    I like this. I'd like to see more twists which ff does really well though. Such as a young Ultimecia being born and the way she's treated turning her into the future sorceress from the first game completing that circle.
    Maybe an organisation responsible for the culling of young potential sorceresses again and cid/edeas White seed ship becoming a search and rescue for potential young sorceresses to protect them.
    The Gfs as a whole could be remnants of hyne, leading to a revelation that the GF selphie equipped as a child but forgot about is still within her manipulating her leading to a story with her.
    Rinoa trying to figure out how a sorceress power could help the world rather than trying to remove the powers but in trying to figure it out, causes major issues such as people trying to rely on her powers and others becoming jealous and distanced by them.

    I think an even better idea is that the GFs have something todo with Hyne. Like maybe they are fragments of him. Or maybe certain ones are. Like GF Griever. Maybe Gilgamesh is another. Phoenix a third. And then there is a fourth. Perhaps the antagonist is seeking to gather them all to himself in order to become Hyne's reincarnation?
    I could even see an angle involving ultimecia. Maybe time compression is Hyne's rebirth?

    A very good idea, and I think it would work too. There should be some further lore along the way and a few enjoyable and insightful character moments with the party. Then this could be a proper FF8-2.
    I think that Ultimecia shouldnt really be explored very much in a possible Sequel, because
    1) she probably wouldnt really be problem anymore because she could have influenced time in a way, so that she never would exist in the way she does in FF8 (no matter if she is Rinoa or an ancestor of her)
    and
    2) I wouldnt like any interpretation or theory being directly disproven by the developer, because she opened up many different viewpoints regarding FF8, which influence the way people see the games philosophy and themes. They would only limit themselves with one definitive answer about her.
    Maybe they could shortly allude to her lore or her backstory at certain points, but she shouldnt be focused on too much.

    • @AlleywayJack
      @AlleywayJack  5 лет назад +2

      True that. The ambiguity around Ultimecia maintains theories and conversation around her - and thus propels the legacy of the game onwards, so i'd be averse to considering her story too specifically.

    Yeah I just realize the ending of the original game is not the Happy Ending, but the beginning of the new curse and tragedy.
    As long as Rinoa still hold the sorceress power, she will suffers and becoming Ultimecia, thus R=U theory will settle once again, but I love your story-line with destroying Hyne and the source line of sorceress which can break the timeloop of R=U and end the sorceress power for good.

    I love 8 because of how much is unexplained, I also hate because of that. There is so much space that this game needs expansion.
    I never thought ulti-s outrage could only come from just being aware of the past and present, not just knowing history, but she had to feel it so... A connection to a power that felt the same thing but on am infinitely grander scale, after all, imagine breaking a bone, they can break, that is a fail safe, but they arnt specifically meant too, so if something is not supposed to die, but it does, what does that feel like? And thusly all sorceress' being connected aswell. It would explain the original as basicly an attempt to reform inderectly.
    Personal thoughts
    Seifer loses his arm or it is crippled, (gunfire?) before he his defeated, it is presumed by everyone he is going to die (maybe/maybe not) Semi-secret cutscenes or logs, some actual more context of the fujin/raijin/seifer relationship.
    Squall, his constant need to be alone becuase he wont be hurt has been replaced with constant worry of where he needs to be, obviously, riny being a huge part, but also all the group(s.) Have to have some comic relief with him catching himself repeating his old lines, or some inner thought he dismisses with a whatever...
    During the coup he and Laguna are in conversation with one of the delegates, or just each other, in a normally no arms zone but he has either no weapon, and you retrieve just a sword during a cut scene prior to your first battle, or he has a mostly ceremonial blade, because you can't start with your ultimate weapon... so they are defending/fighting their way out, underprepared, when a small seed squad is encountered (being dispatched because of) who have a gun for laguna, but you still have to fight your way to his real gunblade (a modified version of the revolver with a blue-ish tint) with a 3rd member in the party from that squad, they have a name, from a year or 2 prior to squall so they know each other, but they are not a scrub nub, nor Ddo they completely adore him. They have mutual respect for each other.
    You could go with a make it look like some other faction... like a "splinter cell" galbadia force that felt the general was giving to much... to try to polarize, and cause decention, which would temporarily cause resources to be spread even thinner.
    Game play wise, I would like to see, drawing to be able to be interrupted, if/when hit with the opposing spell, and when hit with the same spell you are drawing, you get either health restored or an extra stock, or maybe a reflect. And if you are draw casting it is amplified or recoils/rebounds.( if with a cure spell, they use it you take hp damage.) You start with most of your gfs stored, in separate systems, so along the storyline you collect them again. Maybe squall having been lost in time compression, and rescued by riny, has some subconscious connection to her, shares vaguely simular visions or just knows something must be wrong, which intensifies his selfdoubt, maybe just swears he hears her voice or some sound in the background, which distracts him and makes him question himself. Feels like his is unfit to lead... compounding on he never would want to be in that position to begin with.
    Odin is juntictionable this time but diabalos isn't and their abilities are mirrored. With the lore around the lore of those two it makes sense, if following this story line.
    Irvine is kind of messenger/spy for squall, as it gives him a use for his persona.
    Also need to have dollet have issue with squall/riny/the general, because of obvious sentiment, which can give leverage for the continued distrust of the sorceress, and gives more support for the coup. And paints galbadia in a darker light. I mean if the player would already be feeling these things, so put them in the open to allow for more space to pick more subtle stuff about the world.

    I liked this idea a lot, especially if the idea of Heim branches off from his revival via the Time Compression, because that would make it less of a "He came out of nowhere" and more of a "IF the main cast didn't beat Ultimecia, Heim wouldn't have come back" and I like the idea of the main cast accidently making a sequel villain lol. Maybe if the Space stuff was tied into this it would work, like something out there would tie into Heim's plan or something to that effect? It did feel like once you had the reveal it was quick to wrap up, so maybe there's room there to have Space and the other stuff fleshed out.

    I love this story line that you have put forward, my only issue is that with defeat of Hein and the end of the Sorceresses then surely that created a paradox, because if the line ends there, then how did Ultimecia come to be and create the time compression?

    • @AlleywayJack
      @AlleywayJack  2 года назад

      A good point, I think this comes down to whether we think FF8 operates in a Universe or a Multiverse. Universe theory would have the events operate in a linear chronological fashion as you suggest, and the original game seems to work on those terms (Lagunas cause and effect in the past affecting future etc.) but time compression by its nature would/could compress all manner of spacetime including tangent realities of a multiverse (similar to Donnie Darko or Loki series) - which would validate the existence of Ultimecia in a different branch of the world. Weirdly they seem to be adopting this idea for FF7 Remake rather than FF8; but that's one way of explaining it narratively. (Though for the record I always assumed FF8 was a Universe which would make my proposed sequel a paradox).

There was another one I read called Griever which had some really cool ideas but it got overly dark and grim when it really didn't need to. I think dr. odine would be very much interested in studying rinoa's powers as sorceress, probably trying to acquire certain capabilities of sorceresses to normal humans without really transferring the sorcery to the person.
    Of course squall and his team will protect rinoa from those who want to take advantage of her powers.
    There will also be groups who would want to suppress rinoa's powers and stop transference of sorcery to another, in which rinoa would be willing to do. But then squall and team wouldn't want that because rinoa will not die in peace if she does not get a successor.
    One by one squall and his team will start to die leaving rinoa alone.
    SeeD will start hunting rinoa to kill her and end sorcery for good.
    Rinoa will finally realize a story squall and edea only knows: that when ultimecia attempted to compress time, and gets defeated, she transfers her powers to edea leaving ultimecia to finally die in peace..
    So she then has 2 options: end existence itself or fulfill squall's story. Nonetheless rinoa knows that time compression is the key to ending the world's suffering.
    Rinoa decides to become ultimecia. Waits for time compression to happen as she hides from her castle guarded by the GFs her friends left her as they die one by one. Protecting herself from dying from the hands of SeeD because she does not want to die yet and she has to wait for time compression to happen.
    When time compression happened, she can either kill everyone to completely compress time and end all existence and suffering with it, or let the course flow ang get defeated by squall. Squall's team defeats her and she transfers her powers to edea.
    Time will return to non compressed form. Ultimecia is gone, rino dies in peace and the age of sorcery has ended by placing it in a never ending cycle.
    But still to future will never be at true peace as without sorceress, humans will be more bold in their desires for power. Dr. Odine's knowledge about sorceresses will be used by humans and use pseudo sorceress powers.
    And the story continues...

    I wouldn't be adversed to the idea of not playing as Squall.
    Rinoa has some claim to become ruler of Galbadia, and by extension Squall, who now commands a not insignificant military sledgehammer in the form of a flying garden and highly specialised mercenary force.
    Let's pretend Rinoa becomes ruler of Galbadia and for a time all is good but at some point because of her link with Ultemicia she gradually turns "bad"
    Blinded by his love Squall becomes a lapdog of the sorceress and begins a brutal military campaign.
    Seifer who now runs a successful fishing business hears wind of the situation and sets out to put a stop to it. Fujin and Rajin are there of course and along the way you might pick up the original party members who at some point abandoned Squall on his turn to the dark side.
    But of course Squall is good and because of past trauma he just doesn't want to be alone but his friends leaving him only sped up his slide into darkness.
    Squall and Seifer would face off in a mirror of the original liberati fetali fmv opening but this time with Squall as the aggressor. Just as Squall is about to land the final blow on Seifer Fujin jumps in front and takes the hit for Seifer. Watching Fujin die Squall snaps out of his reverie and realises what he's become.
    Eventually Squall and Seifer and Co face off against Rinoa who ultimately saved but forever open influence.
    The game ends with Squall carrying an unconscious Rinoa onto a rocket ship.
    Rockets blasts off and.....
    Just leave it like the end of Vampire hunter D. The rocket fades in to the distance and que the final fantasy anthem. 😢

    Cool video, but I have a much better idea for a sequel, as someone who has played many classic RPGs like Chrono Trigger. It would be a prequel focusing on the Centra civilization before the actual story of VIII as we played it. There would be none of the original characters played, except in time travelling dream sequences like the ones with Laguna. This time though they would be with Squall and the other kids wandering outside the orphanage fighting with summons for the first time. It would have some time travelling elements, as the ancestral characters would be tapping into powers seen towards the end of VIII. Even better is if it was a 2D game to add to the idea of it being a prequel-sequel... well it well probably never happen unless an indie team makes it, but we can dream can't we.

There could be some humorous love triangle involving Irvine. I also think there should be a bit more world discovery, a secret island or maybe thats how you tie in the outerspace part. But seriously i love it. Especially the council and the evil duke and all that! If all else fails throw in climate change or a pandemic as a plot device lol.

      Thanks! Ha, the latter scenarios would definitley resonate with current events, but some would argue FF7 has dibs on the climate crisis (or at least fossil fuel metaphors!)

    The problem with a sequel is how can you start existing characters back at a lower level at the beginning of the game? It may have to focus on a new class of SeeDs and Squall maybe only joining the party as a guest character for an event. Or this could be solved by saying Squall hadn't junctioned a GF since defeating Ultimacea and lost all his abilities.

  • @demecowen

    I had thought about this as well between FF7, FF8, FF9. FF8 had more of the world intact and lore to explore. The Ancient FF7 are all gone and Shrina is pretty much beaten. FF9 enemies are dead and all that left to rebuild. The world of FF8 had the world government intact and still have to fight Sorceress later on.
    One sequel or spin-off idea I had would have one teenage girl become a Sorceress Having to go to the ordeal of controlling her power and organization like Garden hunting her down or evil tyrant to use her powers. The final arc and big twist of the story would be she would grow powerful and decide to screw everyone by calling herself Ultimecia and declare to do a time compression with the final battle be the same as the original game only on her point of view.

    @4:03, interesting you said that...
    Also, I agree entirely that there are endless possibilities. I mean, when you really look at it, there really could be endless different realities. It only makes sense for this world, no? * nods *
    However, I find it interesting you said that at 4:03.. Because: I actually had a scenario for one of the Characters; the aftermath and how it has been affecting that Character, attempting to move forward... - Come to me in a dream.
    [I know it isn't the best FanFic in the world, and many would probably even think it sh**... (I'm...Just used to harsh judgements to say the least overall, yeah. So I admit I'm nervous of ever showing anyone >>)]
    It centers around Seifer though and his POV.
    So yes, there are maaaany potential storylines from here, but especially for each Character; Let alone as a whole.
    I absolutely LOVE when people can dig in DEEP to this Game!

      Thanks, I'm glad you take time to think about the potential of this story and characters too. Personally speaking I think Seifer would be a great character to focus on, and he's one of my favourites in this story that has a lot of potential to explore further, because he's emotions and his outcomes aren't fully shown in the game.

      @@AlleywayJack Thank you! I agree, I really appreciate that of you as well!
      Absolutely! Squall will always be my favorite, however I'm finding a new appreciation as I'm writing about Seifer.
      Yeah? Cool. And I definitely agree with your statement about him. He really had a lot of potential. "His outcomes and emotions aren't shown fully in the game", nope. Why he alone can go in multiple directions from here!
      I'm both excited to delve deeper into FF8 as a what if after, and nervous because I always worry I'm not doing characters justice as I write about them. But FanFiction is what really allows our minds to wonder and play out what ifs that we may not get to see otherwise.

    Good ideas all around. The changes I would make would be after Rhinoa gets to the orphanage a rogue coalition of Galbanians who supported the Edea and global conquest track Rhinoa down and want her to take Edeas place. Rhinoa figures she can use them to gather all the pieces, Zell and Sophia are against it so she sneaks off and Sipher follows. Before the soldiers will accept her she has to prove her power so they send her on some quest and this causes her sorcerer powers to increase. This would create inner turmoil because she always felt like an outsider from the rest because she wasn't a SEED, and felt like a burden. Even now being a sorceress causes a burden to her father and Squall. So she is torn wanting the power to support and stand side-by-side with squall and knowing she should get rid of it. Other little things are making the lunatic pandora a creation of the God for entertainment watching mankind fight for survival and going to space to destroy it part of bringing down the shield for the final boss.

    ¨We do it¨ as R.E. Ramake said once... but well actuallu Ï am trying to do it¨is more accurate... i will love to talk more to yourself when i have an early prototype ready, it will be a RPG MAKER Project, but i am totally considering remake the GF System, i´ll forget junctioning Para magic stuff, bunch of easter eggs and logical turn arounds, and a bit of loved theories somehow, but not the ¨squall is dead¨stuff...

      I gotta admit, your video gets earlier, but my ideas are not exactly like yours, i gotta admit that rinoa is one of the main pieces of the table, but i already have a different arc invloving her than the one you just exposed. I think the hyne reappearance is a good arc, but i actually see a pattern unexplained with the succession of sorceress´s power, since once there were so much, what actually happens after all the sorceress dies and pass their power to a single person. Right now it seems like it has to be close to happen.

      btw, great video!! i have never thought so deeply and intricately about ff8, even though it is my favorite of the series (and the only one I've played to the end!) you put so much thought into the world and characters. if i were SquareEnix i would definetly hire you to make this a reality. hell, I'd even settle for an animated film or comic adaptation!
      the only thing i have really explored on my own is the Rinoa is Ultimecia theory, which i love.
      would you consider making a video on what ff8-2 might look like with Rinoamecia storyline?

    • @AlleywayJack
      @AlleywayJack  4 года назад +1

      @@originalSiiiN Interesting idea, I also find the Rinoamecia theory interesting and have discussed the pros/cons of that in a newer Rinoa episode. Regarding a sequel story, I think that would be a pretty morbid world! But unlike the reign of Adel, I think some pretty interesting storytelling could emerge out of Rinoa's previous relationships, and her previous life as a protagonist. Not something I'd previously considered.

    I like it, the only problem is: if they end the line of sorceresses, it negates the events of the first game, and ultimecia won’t exist, therefore this story won’t happen. It just seems to weaken the overall plot too, since there’s so much potential for Rinoa to change the perception of sorceresses, as was hinted at in the flower field in FF8. Overall, good idea though.

    • @AlleywayJack
      @AlleywayJack  2 года назад +1

      Fair comments, the attempt to change perceptions about sorceresses does lend well to resolving her fears in the first game and there could be plenty of great story potential there too
