The focus should be on the offense honestly. The defense scored 7, gifted special teams a field goal in the redzone and Ceyair Wright blocked an easy 3. That's 13 points in differential but our offense only put up 10. That's horrifically bad
What we might think about doing is developing a relationship with a MAC or Mountain West or a good FCS team where they are essentially a farm team. We work out a favorable deal where we pay them (with a little extra added on) to play us every year and if a guy needs to get cut he has a safe place to land and get a chance to develope then move back up. Or a player really wants to come here but he is not quite good enough we could provide that as an option.
10 games after and I have seen floating passes, but I don’t recall seeing one pass with “zip”. I’ve been wondering if he or the coaches could actually do it. I don’t want to assume that he can, because in general I don’t like to assume anything, including one more victory and a bowl game, for example.🙄
Maybe you could do it. I can’t believe our coaches are SO DUMB they couldn’t think to tell the quarterback to throw it harder. Can’t stand this fan base anymore. Bigger losers than the team itself. Feel sorry for the coaches and players trying to keep these people happy.
What happens if a few years down the road certain universities such Nebraska's that don't have landscapes of being able to recruit tons of 4 and 5 stars yearly making it difficult to win with the scholarship limits so 50-60% of those schools decided to band together against the NCAA and drop football all together because of the disadvantage of a level playing field due to smaller population base recruiting wise?? Would the NCAA rethink this new rule?? I'm curious about that angle of it as a whole because I believe it hurts the sport just like nil is hurting the sport so much so that eventually school's start tapping out or go broke trying to stay relevant and make money!! It's sad seeing where all of this going and continues to go! The NCAA is ruining college football...
If they have to cut to 105, wonder if you can cut anyone? Whats the rules around it is important as well. Current rule as I know it is, can cut walk Ons or any frost recruit
The NCAA haven't figured out the rules yet. They are so wonderful they want this to take place next season without even figuring out how they will do anything
I don't think any coach could get a job at Nebraska these last 20 years unless he expressed love and affection for the walk-on program. It was once great. Now it's not. Time for the sacred cow to go
I have doubts about Holgorsen. Seems NU keeps making the same mistakes over and over again when it comes to staff selection. Teams are supposed to get better as the season progresses. That doesn't seem to be happening. That's not the players. If players are not doing what is asked of them and improvising instead, then that is a lack of discipline and that is a coaching problem. The elephant in the room is obvious and it is not the players.
They're gonna have to do better on analyzing talent. They need to not only screen for athletic ability but mental ability...I find that too many issues come down to being able to follow directions. You teach these young men how to do something, you expect them to be locked in and do it. Rhule said it himself...players need to do what is called...not trying to improvise. If a player can't grasp the technique or process...he isn't gonna be worth keeping around.
Blood cat is the winner....the jury is out on rhule recruits, the young guys who have played early look the part. The BIG problem with a lot of our 4 stars from frost, riley era, is they were sorted by the top schools, and we attracted the million dollar talent, 5 cent head types,, hoping rhules recruits are better, I think they are. The extra covid year didn't do us any favors in getting the roster turnover we needed

It’s not necessarily dead weight when you develop a John bullock or Nebraska kids who care more, work harder etc but we can’t find a roster spot for them bc we have 105 scholarship kids. That type of player could potentially grow and develop at a smaller school and transfer to Nebraska but we lose the opportunity to coach up those kids here 🤷🏼♂️
A fee for every Nebraska resident. Every resident pays $10 a month, children included. A family of four shells out only $40 a month Out of state students pay double. This will raise $20M a month, $240M a year to build a team. Use this to get Jeanty, Hunter, JJ smith, etc. get arch manning to compete with DR. If more is needed for DTs and OLs, then increase the fee for Dems and Independents. They pay double or leave the state. We dont need them anyway. Thats an out of the box solution,a home run.
This is great for Nebraska. The bottom line is just because you grew up rooting for Nebraska doesn’t mean you’re good enough to play for the team. Practicing against some kid undersized and un-athletic from ainsworth or Cairo does absolutely nothing for depth

Someone needs to teach Dylan how to throw the ball with zip to wide open players running toward the endzone!!!!!

And yet Ceyair Wright is still listed as a backup...
At the 105 limit, t h e lineman especially o linemen, that need the 3 yr development, will take up the largest part, of t h e non 3 deep roster.
Probably something thing like 20-25 percent as a minimum
Did you have a stroke typing this

I can see why you doubt him. He's a well-known coach and he just got here so probably time to get rid of him eh
Less walkons MORE schollies (which shouldn't even be a thing w NIL) so what's the big freaking deal?
Holgorsen needs to decide if he wants more WRs or more TEs and running backs.
He will want more / better wr’s .

Nebraska's got two easy wins lined up, all guaranteed, locked in place. Of course, there were teams with 300 'players' on the roster and for decades.
Losing to Wisconsin and Iowa should be a fireable offense. They are not good football teams.
@@stephenrousseau7460 Good enough to beat Nebraska year in and year out.
Anything short of 8-5 at this point would be a failed season.
Yes pertaining this season. Getting 6 wins is important big picture
Its every team! Its NCAAA ruling
