that point about the difference between Dana and Tony with Matt, saying Tony essentially bends the knee to Matt on working together with John and doing what the boss says is purely because I believe Matt is way more involved in defense, which is why Satt was left alone to either sink or swim, well Dana already knows how to swim, and he is about to cross the atlantic swimming with Nebraska once he has a full grasp of this thing we all call home

Finally a coach at NU that will call it as he sees it. Players need to get called out. Have some accountability about the play on the field.

In the past I would have disagreed with you. However these players are now being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars so I have no issue with it.

It's sort of like having that semi drunk uncle that is bad ass and will kick your ass, some how has the craziest stories that are sort of Big Fish and yet you feel like he totally gets it and has a plan. Breath of fresh air. Rhule provides a very honest approach to things but it's often very positive. This feels great to have a bit of brass tax matter of fact kind of press conference.

I love Matt Rhule. I don’t have a filter either, I despise people who can’t say what they mean and never mean what they say. Dana is very plain, blunt, and hardworking. He’s going to be a great fit for Nebraska. He reminds me of Coach Charlie McBride!

McBride was in all ways a genius. We will not see his like again, but, yes, this guy is a bit more like him (but offense, of course).

We had this with T.O. and Monte Kiffin. The demeanor of these two coaches was opposite polars at times. T.O. was X's and O's at halftime and Kiffin would pick up garbage cans and throw it at the defense when he was irritated.

Holgorsen Is probably Rhule's best move so far. White was a good hire but Holgorsen will probably save his job and shows that he's being honest when he says he wants to turn this around.

If this Holgorsen deal works out, do you think other teams may try this “no risk” trial? Where they fire a coordinator and bring in someone else to finish the season? Kind of like test driving a car.

With the secondary playing so poorly this season, has the John Butler experience been a failure? If so, does this raise larger concerns since there was some sentiment that Butler would be the new defensive coordinator if Tony White leaves for a head coaching position?

They're still working with Frost recruits who can't always unlearn their bad habits and understanding of the game. Tommi Hill? Gifford? Hartzog? These guys aren't getting it done consistently enough for their level of experience.

I think we now know that the reason the defense was so “great” last year is bc of the division we were in. Don’t get me wrong this is still a good unit, just not as elite as we hoped.
It also doesn’t help that this offense hasn’t been good this year.

There have been SEVERAL times this season across multiple games where a RB like Ahman Green or Roy Helu or Devine Ozigbo or Maurice Washington would have housed a 60+ yard TD but our guys got 10-15 yards. NE doesn't have a RB with vision or juice.

In my opinion, Dana refers to these players by their numbers only is to let them know that who they are (or who they think they are) is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is how they play.

Rumors are Malachi Coleman has left the team and will transfer. Any validity? Raiola also had an odd statement about talking with Dana in December regarding his past QBs, does this imply that he is uncertain about returning to a Nebraska and needs that meeting to be convinced, or is Twitter (X, sorry Elon) overreacting like normal? I’d like to think he stays after Dawson Merritt mentions his relationship with Dylan.
