yesterday, I visited UPenn and it was like a love at first sight. Will be starting my cc in sep and hopefully I can transfer to upenn as early as next march :)
Hello , I’m a nursing student at a community college in Philly and I’m trying to Transfer to UPenn nursing in the fall , please do you mind if I reach out to you you personally for help
@@SRM-z9n thank you sm!! I’m working on editing other videos right now but can make a video on supplements after!! Ive been caught up with school starting and work so I’ve been a little behind 😭
Haha I’m working on editing my supplements video so all good!! Keep coming back to this video I don’t mind 😅 but to answer your question, I would probs say my main nursing club (Usna) and then being a nursing assistant II
Aww thank you! I can make a video on how to make a resume/share mine! I’ve been a little busy with school/clubs since it just started but I can help with resumes when I am more settled 🫶
Did UPenn accept all your Case Western credits? I'm a dual enrollment student in HS and I'm wondering about this because UPenn Nursing is pretty vague on their site and personally I don't want to retake classes I've already taken.
@@AmaraOkudoh I had the same question when I was applying as a transfer but short answer is they took almost all of my credits but some of my classes I had to retake (a&p part 2, microbio, writing class, nurs103) I think it also depends on the school and syllabus
Loved this video! I have a question though: I'm currently a first year in college and I'm a little confused on the transfer credit policies? It says "Transfer credit will not be granted for college-level course work taken while enrolled at the secondary level or in the summer ". For example, if I got a 5 in AP-Lang and my college moved me into a more advance course, will the advanced course count as credit? If not, do I have to take the prerequisite for that class? Thank you!
@@mikamoon-d9l aww thank you 🥰if you took a more advanced course bc of an ap course you did in hs, it should transfer over but it does depends on which upenn school you are transferring to! I was transferring into Penns school of nursing. For example, I took a psych stat course they was considered more advanced than the beginner psych course at CWRU and was able to get nursing stat credit at penn for it. It all depends on the class/ prof at Penn since each class is reviewed by a case by case basis using penns external transfer credit system, XCAT.
Hi! Many hospitals allow you to take on the CNA role without having to have the certifications if you are enrolled in a nursing school/have finished med surg! My first year, I was considered a nursing assistant II. The hospital I worked at was good with me being a NA II because I was enrolled in a BSN program. I would check with local hospitals and see what the requirements are bc you may be able to work without doing the CNA course/getting certified from the state!
I really want to apply to UPenn nursing but I’m really hesitant :/ I’m currently a first year CC student with a 3.7 GPA (17 credits) and a 3.3 GPA in HS… I know my stats are not the best but I think my letters of rec, EC, and personal statement are a lot better. Should I still try ? Please be honest 🥲🥲
you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. I mean this genuinely, if you want it, go for it and try. It does not hurt. Stats aren't everything and UPenn really does look at every applicant holistically. If you have shown growth since hs which sounds like you did, they will value that more than your hs GPA. GL and lmk if you have any more questions

Oopsies this is my 2nd time coming back to this video 😭sorry but another question: out of all of your ECs, which one do you think helped you the most

This vid was actually so helpful I come back to it whenever I’m writing my essay ❤️are you currently reviewing resumes for transfer students?

hi! this may seem like a random question, but how was the financial aid as a transfer?
@@JiaRossNicdao not random, great question. I am considered first gen low income at Penn, they covered everything
@@Sara4hlee thank you so much!
