it's about that time when juniors are trying to intensify their resumes and seniors to start writing their college essays. I know there many of you who are wanting to study at an Ivy League, including UPenn! so here are the things I did, my stats, and tips for you ivy league applicants that will be extremely helpful if you want to be admitted to an ivy like I did! I hope you find this video helpful and I hope to see some of you in fall 2021 :)

i took a lot of dual enrollment classes bc i didn’t have room on my schedule. i had a lot of ap classes available at my school, just no room to take them. will that make my chances decrease?

if you’re comfortable sharing, how much did you end up having to pay for upenn/year? i want to apply but i used their net price calculator and got barely any aid (i’m solidly middle class). congrats by the way, you’re amazing!!
The College Board National Recognition Program she mentioned is also an opportunity for small town/rural students!! I'm white but since I live in Montana I was invited to apply.

I noticed you said you didn’t get into the UC’s but don’t you have to withdraw your application from those schools if you were accepted ED? I was just wondering how that works because I will be applying soon :)

If you were born in Venezuela, did you apply as an Asian Hispanic student with no US citizenship?
Your video itself gave me so much hope and if you don't have US citizenship then I am more hopeful than ever.
My counselor tells me it's basically impossible for me as a Korean Mexican (born and raised in Mexico with full Korean parents) to get into a top US university with a full ride because I will have to compete in the Asian pool.

Can you please share what financial aid was like after applying early decision? I thought you took what they gave you if you did early decision.

Hi! I'm glad it was helpful. I only took the Spanish subject test and the Math 2 test. If you want to go into nursing school, I would honestly recommend taking bio or chem but I was too late into my decision of going into nursing, so I didn't. Hope this helps!

Ooooh I am nearly in the same condition lol nursing and Upenn as my ED choice, also 34 in ACT (superscore 35) 7 APs . Hopefully I could be admitted as you did

Do you have any idea if it’s possible to transfer from the school of nursing to get your MD rather than RN? I don’t think I will get into any school other than the school of nursing but Penn is my dream school.

I got all 4s and 5s in my AP exam scores (mainly 4s though).
You had a bachelor degree from somewhere else before applying for nursing? You mentioned about your freshman/sophomore/junior/senior year

if im applying as a biology major, would a psychology certficiate from coursera help me?
i honestly wouldn’t know since i’m not a professional, but i think any certification that shows that you’re interested in your major or future profession will help!
I’m a junior this year, and UPenn is my dream school. I have been in 8 extracurriculares every year and the lowest grade I’ve had on a semester report card in high school is a B and my GPA is about a 4.4. Do you think I would have any shot at getting in? I’m so terrified

how did you apply for the congressional award? i tried but I saw you need a legit organization
yes, you need either a certifying organization or an advisor/counselor that will be willing to sign you up/help you for a congressional award. I forgot to add to add that in the video!
For Coursera, did you pay for the certifications?
you do have to pay fees for each coursera course you take.. i forgot how much but it’s not terrible!
I am a full IB Diploma student, do you think I have a better chance than others that take AP classes

I dont have aps in my school, what to do?
some schools don't have AP's but IB's instead, but what matters is that you take the more advanced classes at your school! colleges take into consideration what is available at your school.

did you found the social justice group or did you just have a leadership position?
i had leadership positions every year i was part of a social justice group.. although that’s preferable u dont have to! u can just be a member and show commitment :)
