I appreciate your commitment to long form & still posting on IG. I'm not on TikTok & don't plan to be. Your content & presence on YT & IG doesn't make me feel like I am missing stuff. 🥰
I love that your content evolved so much over the years. We're all getting older and I feel like strictly watching beauty videos just isn't my style anymore. I love to just see people living life which also doesn't mean that they/you have to share anything of your actual personal life. I love the book recommendations, seeing you exploring different cities, a few make-up recommendations here and there that don't break the bank and seeing you try different foods be it from Thrive Market or with your mom from Trader Joes. :) And if any of that turns out to be too much work or does not align with what you want to do anymore, you shouldn't feel obligated to pander to that :) You do you, girl! xx
Hey Taylor, Love your videos, love listening to all of your travels. I'm 54 and have been watching you for years. Today when you said you felt like you were pretty much adept to living any where, but how your views had changed as far as living in a big city or close to nature. I think a lot of that is you have grown up a lot. Some things are not as important as they used to be. Other things, smalls are more important and mean more. Have fun & stay safe!!
As someone that has struggled with agoraphobia and still has trouble just leaving “the bubble” as we call it, I really admire you. It must be so freeing and liberating ( not only to to just pick up and go) but to know you have your whole life ahead of you and you’re proactively making the decision to find a place that you love the most to live in. You don’t feel stuck due to circumstance, you’re not waiting on a “partner” to figure it out ( which is what most people would do, you’re living life in your terms and it’s so inspiring and really brave. It may sound silly to say it’s brave, but i definitely think it takes a string, courageous, independent person to go out and see what life has to offer. Keep doing you!!!!
You inspired me to sell my stuff and take off on a solo adventure. I thought I'd be relatively happy living anywhere, but then I came to Memphis and fell in love with it. I never considered living in a city this size, especially in the south, but after a little over a year of traveling I signed a lease, bought some furniture and got a dog 😂 You never know when a city will get under your skin and feel like home in the best way.
So interesting to hear you talking about being “too adaptable” to different places… I feel like I’m like this with friends. I feel like I am adaptable to different friends in different ways and then when I think about getting all of them together feels like it would be absolute chaos. 😂 But then it makes me question whether I’m being my authentic self with all of them. Because I feel like I am??? I’m sure they all just bring out different parts of my personality, which may be the same for you in different cities, you just flex to whatever that city has to offer… Existential crisis. I have no answers. But you’re not alone. 😊
Came here to say this exact sentiment! Also I did get all my friends together for my wedding and it WAS chaos 😂 For the most part it went well though! But yeah, I’ve definitely gotten better about being my outspoken yet kind self with everyone but certain people bring out different sides of me for sure. It’s weird 😅
There isn’t a single video I WOULDN’T watch that you make! I love them all, whether it’s a vlog, car chats, shadow and schmooze, tutorials, you name it. That may not be helpful to figure out which route to take, but I love everything you put out! 💛
Have you thought about Idaho..Boise is growing with restaurants and breweries...but the mountains are only about 20 minutes away.. I have lived in the treasure valley my whole life and it's the best❤
Same! If I’m on RUclips, it’s to sit down and actually watch, instead of “listening in.” But I can see the appeal for both. Love this channel and will continue to watch all things Taylor ❤
Personally I love long videos. Longer, the better! Especially if it’s from someone (like yourself) that I honestly enjoy watching. Happy Friday Everyone! 🌻
what I need most in life to be happy 1.) health, totally agree with you 2.) peace- no toxicity 3.) security- financial security and a safe and comfortable physical space 4.) travel- I need to be able to look forward to new experiences, and I love seeing and exploring the world outside of where I live and 5.) love- one special person to share life and grow old with
I’ve lived in Oregon for 12 years now and it still gives me the most calm feeling. I love it here so so much and every single time I cross the river or drive home, I am filled with this peace and sense of immense gratitude that I get to live here. I think some of it for you is prob the college aspect but I also think Oregon just feels like that for some people. It’s why I never want to leave. The whole state feels like home 🥲
I'm super adaptable too, I think that somewhat comes with life experience and an open but strong mind. You're a very intelligent gal, just trust your instincts & knowledge!
I like all the styles of your videos (shadow & schmooze, sit down chats, vlog, etc.). Recently I don't prioritize the straight make-up videos just because I personally haven't been wearing as much. I find that my viewing habits are partially driven by my RUclips feed/suggestions, but mostly by available time. It's rare that I skip one of your videos intentionally or by choice. I noticed that I tend to binge your videos to catch up when I fall behind.
I just got back from going to Oregon for the first time and I completely agree. There is something so peaceful that I felt when I was there. I was in Astoria and I absolutely fell in love with it
I don’t often comment, but I’ve been watching you for your entire career here. I adore you. I’m here for your book worm era. As a flight attendant I’ve never related to you more with all this travel and reading and makeup. Those three things are basically my identity. Also, the last 1/3 of ACOTAR is when it gets really good, and the second book in the series is my second favorite book of all time! I hope you enjoy it!
I can totally relate to being TOO easily adaptable. My husband and I live in Upstate NY and love nature and access to thay but we hate NY taxes and long winters so its been tough to figure out where to move.
You are one of the very few content creators in your general age group that is well rounded and interesting. All of your videos are done very well..keep it going! 😊
you describing your ideal spot is richmond, va to me. doesn’t seem like much, but it’s SO accessible to everything (an hour away from the mountains, beach, and DC) and the food/hospitality/social scene is awesome, AND it’s on a gorgeous river. nature everywhere, lol. i miss it so much! you should check it out if you haven’t yet.
Girl it’s been ten years since I first started following you- if you don’t think you’ve grown, take it from someone outside your situation. You used to say you didn’t experience anxiety. You couldn’t take a break from work. You didn’t read fiction. Even little things like liking cats or fantasy. Today you seek therapy. You try new things. You experienced love, heartache, travel, run your own biz. You prioritize your free time. BEETCH you got ACOTAR on your to read shelf 😂🎉 I’ve always loved you and your content but growing up alongside you has been especially special ❤
Voted on instagram too but, I’m team whatever catch-up you do! Love a sit down, car chat, or shadow and schmooze. I could and would listen to you talk to just about anything!
6:29 I live in Colorado Springs (an hour south of Denver) and that’s partly why I like it. We are situated in a perfect spot not too far from a major city but yet have easy access to nature things like hiking and white water rafting.
Second comment: forgot to say the most important thing in life for me IS family. I'm 51 and that's the number 1 lesson I've taken away from all my experiences. Friends come and go, or in my case, pass away at too young of an age (literally all my close bestest friends are gone now). Family is always there no matter what. Whatever "family" means to you is who will really be there through it all, thick and thin.
I just did EXACTLY that with my hair!! I got the itch and went to Sally’s and used color remover on my box black hair…after 2 rounds it was light enough to put in an expresso brown color- but it’s got red in it and I’m not loving it…. But when you want a change…🤷🏻♀️ I totally remember the lead up to the silver hair moment!! I prefer shadow and schmooze- but I try to follow your videos as long as I can!! Love your videos and down to earth personality!
I started watching you years ago when my step-daughter started competitive dance. I needed help doing her make-up and being a complete boy mom had no idea and you saved me! It is hard to explain but it really was a great thing for our relationship. Now she is heading off to college and I am still a fan of your videos. I just wanted you to know that your content may impact someone more than you think.
yay hi Taylor! in terms of q&a style-- I like both! I'm with you; I'll do chores if it's just talking but I enjoy a shadow and schmooze if I'm wanting to lounge on the couch and watch. Some variety is good for the soul :) luv u!
I love your long form content too - and I think there's room on YT for everyone! My priorities are God and family. After that, the most important thing in life to me is JOY. Happiness is a choice. You can always reach for a better feeling thought. You achieve it through GRATITUDE. Love you Taylor!
ACOTAR started my love of reading again. Book 1 was good, but book 2 was soooo good. Also I’m a ten pages a day kind of gal because thats how I was able to get back into reading. It keeps the book moving along. ❤
You HAVE to read Throne of Glass series too! It’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥; the plot twists are mind blowing and you’ll never see them coming. The audiobooks are best because the narrator is amazing! We loved them so much we named our youngest’s middle name after one of the main characters (Rowan)!
I used to live in California. Moved to Seattle 24 years ago. I will never move anymore. I love the the greenery, water, mountains and we can exactly enjoy summer here. It is paradise.
I’ve enjoyed your videos for a couple of years now! Enjoyed your evolution and content. I love hiking, travel, food, makeup and all the things. I have purchased and LOVED many products you have shared. So if I am needing something or wanting something I always enjoy seeing if you have a review on it. Everything from backpacks to makeup to food. So thanks! ❤❤❤
I much prefer when you do a chat AND do your makeup. It just adds an interesting element to the video. It's also satisfying to watch someone apply makeup.
I just adore how much you have evolved since the beginning of your channel. I've been watching from the beginning, I have missed some videos but I always come back and I love listening to you. I feel like I have evolved with you in a way. I absolutely love the chit chat videos. I turn them on while I work around my house, complete school assignments, etc. 💖
Hi Taylor! I really enjoy watching you doing your makeup because it really shows what you are wearing on your face day to day. Could you recommend skin tints or BB creams for mature skin? Thanks sweetheart ♥️♥️
As some who loved 15DOF and looked forward to them, I think it's great you're not doing them anymore. You're content is always stellar no matter what it's about. I'm a big fan of shadow and shmooze because it feels like doing makeup with a friend. I will also watch a sit down Q&A and just have it be back ground noise. Both styles have differences I appreciate. Yay for more book recommendations!
I grew up in suburbia really have zero desire to live in a big city. As I got a little bit over, I really thought I might enjoy the city. I ended up moving to a town that was pretty small, but within 15 mins of target and Walmart… I’m in 30 minutes of lots of restaurants & fun activities! I have to say I wouldn’t exchange it for anything. I absolutely love the nature it’s where I feel the most peace. And I love a sense of community.❤
awwww; tuxedo cats are basically like puppies; they wait by the door, love nothing better than lap snuggles, big talkers....they're the dogs of the cat world :) ALSO: I'll never ditch the long-form content for the twitchy, clippy, tiny-attention-span content. I avoid reels, I refuse to engage with TikTok, I straight-up live on RUclips (gimme a good 2-hour podcast-style video about a nerdy topic and I'm all in). There are lots of us out here for the long form!
Same for me on the shoes & clothes in the house! Also, a walk or some form of exercise early gets me moving & motivated for the day. I like that you’ve evolved. We used to travel but not so much now. So, I really enjoy your travel adventures! You’re honest on everything you do. Keep it up. Thank you.
I’ve moved around a ton and realized that being somewhere with warm weather has made such a huge impact for my mental health! So if being outside is important for your mental health, definitely prioritize that. I thought I was happy where I was before because I was adaptable but where I am now with warm weather I just feel more at peace!
My favorite videos are the ones where you take us along on your adventures and then chit chat with us about things during your adventures. My favorite video of yours is the RV Arizona vlog with your parents . 🤗 What I found is most important in my life other than my family. First and foremost my relationship with Jesus. Im most at rest outdoors hiking, walking and being in nature. Spreading love and kindness!
I'd watch both. I also multi task while listening to RUclips. What I'll usually do, if it's a shadow and smooze, I'll first watch the whole thing then play it a couple of times where I'm doing other things while listening. 😊❤I remember awhile back you mentioned wearing running shoes and feeling like you're more productive in the house and I was like "ME TOO!!!" It truly makes a difference!
P.S. Long form content is still my favorite. I've been watching your channel for almost 6 years now and I'm pretty sure I went back and watched all of your videos from before I started watching. You're still my fave and I feel like your channel gets better all of the time❤️❤️ 5 years ago I lost my husband of almost 21 years, Travis, to cancer. We have 4 kids, two grown and two elementary age now. Shortly after he passed, I began watching RUclips for the first time and your channel was the first I came across and have loved ever since. Just watching your content has helped me thru my grief journey and it gave me some "me" time...a few minutes away from being mama😉❤️❤️I've read several books you've recommended and loved all of them. They were exactly what I needed at that time. So thank you for brightening my days with your content!❤️❤️❤️
I was a travel nurse for three years and it was scary how comfortable I would get in each place like within two weeks! Made me question where I would be happiest as well. I ended up in my home city due to having a child but I also felt being in nature was most important. Wherever you end up I wish you luck!
Yes health is my number one! I live in Oregon and I love it! Almost fours here! Moved from California and wouldn’t go back for anything! People here are friendly, polite too! There’s life after LA which is so stressful. I enjoy the GRWM videos a lot Taylor! 🥰🤗🌷💗
Travel nurse here! I totally relate with you on this and feel perfectly at home (minus family) wherever I travel. It’s almost weird because when I go back to my actual home, I don’t feel like I’m home, it feels so temporary because we’re always floating around the US. Currently in Bandon Oregon and I’m obsessed with this cute little coastal town. Definitely got my inspiration to go to Oregon from years of watching you! Ily!! 🥰
❤❤❤I absolutely love your channel!! I haven't been here long, maybe a year, but so so happy I found you!! I have to comment on the RUclips algorithm...I absolutely DESPISE short form content. I do not like TikTok. I watch RUclips videos while doing my skin care in the am and pm, so long form is my favorite. I've gone back and watch your older videos and I've loved how you've evolved. You're a true joy to watch ❤❤❤
I really love your videos. I've been watching since you first started on RUclips. Your Italy videos last summer helped me and my friend so much. We were in italy about a week after you posted them so I was following all your advice. It really helped us navigate since it was our first time. I like the shadow and smooze/updates travel videos. Sometimes I'm just listening but I ll just rewind if it's a new product I'm interested in. Thanks for all the work you do making videos. I also have chronic migraines, not as bad, but I know it can ruin days and days of your life.
I’ve been there with my adaptability. For work, I didn’t compromise for my new position. I really prepared for interviews and I went after the job I wanted.
I like both styles. I probably lean more towards shadow and smooze videos, like I may let just a chatty video sit for a day or 3 before I watch, but shadow and smooze I almost always watch as soon as I see it
I love both car chat and s&s! I think s&s is more fun to me because I like to watch you do makeup - it’s just relaxing like we’re both doing our makeup together just hanging out
I'm all about long form content. I've gone back and fourth with tiktok but deleted the app 2 months ago and haven't gone back. You don't have to be a creative artist in any form to make a tic tok. Your content is thought out and actually has a purpose, whether educating, giving resources, or just giving someone the knowledge about something important in life in general. I love the shadow & schmooze but I also like car chats. I don't need to visually see something to watch a video. Alot of times I just play videos in the shower. I find it relaxing to wind down at night or just listen before bed. You doing everything RUclips right and one of maybe 3 people I actually trust and bought products you recommend. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos.
I lived in the Bend / Sunriver area and I LOVED it. My favorite place I have ever lived. And the beginning of this video has me wanting to move back 😹 then I remember the snow in the winter being taller than the buildings 👀
Totally unrelated, but I was wondering if you had a recommendation for loose setting powder for dry skin? I absolutely loved the now discontinued L'oreal Hydra Perfecte translucent setting powder, and I'm hesitant to buy just anything, because I have tried many different powders and nothing has compared. Thank you. ❤
I so relate to being super adaptable to different environments. I've lived in several states, bigger cities, smaller towns, and in between. I try to look at it as a good thing, and put down roots and build community everywhere I go. Also, I will watch any of your sit down videos - car chats, shadow &smooze, etc.!!
Putting shoes on works and putting on some work clothes (even if still casual). I also just get up and immediately make my bed which makes me feel like I’m going to be organized and productive that day. Didn’t always used to do that but now I’m in a habit of doing it.
the evolution of your channel has been such a FUN journey!! just wanted to compliment you. love the old content, but am loving the new content too!! :)
Hey Taylor! I think I used to watch your videos because I had pretty bad acne too. (It has drastically improved since then) I think your answer to the 15 days of foundation matches what I look for from your channel. In terms of shadow and schmooze versus car talks, I think I would prefer car talks because I am more invested in hearing about your travels, health, and girlbossin. I really would love to hear more about your productivity. ☺️ i’m not in the world of youtube/beauty, but I think you’d be an awesome boss or coworker. Happy to hear that you’re here to stay in long form content 🎉
I love chatty videos regardless of whether you’re doing something (makeup) or not. Also, I appreciate that you’re able to set boundaries for yourself! I know it’s easy to prioritize work over everything, but health and happiness matter, too. I’ve definitely learned those lessons, too. 💜
I'm definitely very adaptable bit now I'm 35 I've definitely gravitated to a smaller town.... places that bring me peace definitely with loads of nature
Coming back to this video to say you influenced me here to get a kindle. In my personal deep dive, I found a kindle page turner remote, which would be great when you aren't feeling well! Thanks for all the book recs!
i’m the same way with dying my hair red! sometimes i’m tempted to go to a different color but i just know i’d miss my red hair. it makes me feel alive 🔥
I really enjoy when you do car chats. Not that I dislike shadow and schmooze but you are one of the few people who I enjoy listening to without the additional entertainment.
It really doesn’t matter to me whether you are doing makeup while you chat as I just enjoy listening and it’s usually while I am puttering around the house or putting my makeup on. Love all your content 🥰💞
Always loved Bend. We used to spend summers there with my family. Lots of swimming, hiking, also did a lot of horseback riding there. I remember it gets REALLY hot there, though. This inspires me to return and visit. 😊
Personally, deleting tiktok was one of the first social media boundaries I set for myself and I won’t ever go back. If I’m watching video, it’s on RUclips and maybe sometimes on ig reels-but if it’s reels, it’s like funny meme content, not longform or midform tiktok type stuff. I prefer longform RUclips content, thanks for making it ❤
So excited you liked Fourth Wing! I love that Violet has an Elhers Danlos kind of ailment that she has to work through and it doesn’t just magically go away! ACOTAR is also amazing! Glad you’re giving fantasy a go!
Have you read Throne of Glass by SJM?! You HAVE to! It’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥; the plot twists are mind blowing and you’ll never see them coming. The audiobooks are best because the narrator is amazing! We loved them so much we named our youngest’s middle name after one of the main characters (Rowan)!
I appreciate your commitment to long form & still posting on IG. I'm not on TikTok & don't plan to be. Your content & presence on YT & IG doesn't make me feel like I am missing stuff. 🥰
Same ❤
Same ♥️♥️
💯 percent agree!
and now lemon8 and Threads, no more apps tech companies lol
Same!

You do you, girl! xx
Saaaaame!
Same!
Definitely love any of your “sit down - talk” content whether you’re in your car or doing makeup, always here for the schmooze
I don’t and won’t ever use Tiktok, so RUclips is where I’ll be watching your content as long as you keep making it ❤
same here! I have Instagram so I fell into Instagram reels but I refuse to go into TikTok cuz that's ALL it is, is short vids :/
I absolutely don’t know why, but I am addicted to watching people do their makeup. Hahah I just love a good old fashioned GRWM.
Same!!! It’s my absolute favorite thing to turn on at the end of the night when I’m in bed. I can’t get enough

Really great 😮comment (barring agoraphobia) and I couldn’t agree more with you regarding Taylor.

#Baerritos 🌯❤🌯❤🌯
True.
Have you thought about Idaho..Boise is growing with restaurants and breweries...but the mountains are only about 20 minutes away.. I have lived in the treasure valley my whole life and it's the best❤

I’ve been watching your videos since you were doing furniture flips in college! Love your channel Taylor! 😊
Hi Taylor, what’s your go to shampoo & conditioner that you love and always go back? Love your hair it always looks so shiny :)
Voted on instagram too but, I’m team whatever catch-up you do! Love a sit down, car chat, or shadow and schmooze. I could and would listen to you talk to just about anything!

Lake Tahoe is my happy place. I get such a wonderful feeling as soon as I smell the mountain air. It’s heavenly.

Fourth Wing is so amazing, totally obsessed too and I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on ACOTAR! ACOMAF is my favorite out of the whole series!
yay hi Taylor! in terms of q&a style-- I like both!
I am like you, I will do dishes, fold towels, etc while I just listen to someone. I will definitely listen to you just answering questions!
So thanks! ❤❤❤
I definitely prefer long form content, so I thank you for putting in all the work it takes!
I have a few besties who thought of living in NYC but also changed their minds once they actually visited & stayed for a while
I much prefer when you do a chat AND do your makeup. It just adds an interesting element to the video. It's also satisfying to watch someone apply makeup.
I’m the same, I enjoy sit down Q&A or car chats the most because it’s background noise while I’m doing other things.
I love car chats or just sit down chatty videos , no pressure to do makeup always!
I lived in oregon for a decade and whenever I go back it always feels so comfortable. I quickly feel at home, but I would never move back.
awwww; tuxedo cats are basically like puppies; they wait by the door, love nothing better than lap snuggles, big talkers....they're the dogs of the cat world :) ALSO: I'll never ditch the long-form content for the twitchy, clippy, tiny-attention-span content.
I love the way your videos have evolved! Thank you for continuing to make videos. They are so uplifting for me.
Its been so fun watching you evolve over the years-go for the brown hair I think it would look great on you!
My favorite videos are the ones where you take us along on your adventures and then chit chat with us about things during your adventures. My favorite video of yours is the RV Arizona vlog with your parents . 🤗
What I found is most important in my life other than my family. First and foremost my relationship with Jesus. Im most at rest outdoors hiking, walking and being in nature. Spreading love and kindness!
I’m same as you, I watch catch up videos while I do other stuff, so more than happy to have you just sit and catch up, or do car chats!
You're still my fave and I feel like your channel gets better all of the time❤️❤️
5 years ago I lost my husband of almost 21 years, Travis, to cancer.
This is why I live in Boulder. Close to Denver. Close to the mountains. Has tons of stuff to do, restaurants, etc. Only downside, absurd expensive
I was a travel nurse for three years and it was scary how comfortable I would get in each place like within two weeks! Made me question where I would be happiest as well. I ended up in my home city due to having a child but I also felt being in nature was most important. Wherever you end up I wish you luck!
I have to day that I love both shadow and schmooze and your just sitting down videos. I just enjoy your company 🥰
I feel that way about my college town (Santa Cruz, CA). I still go there from time to time. The redwoods and the beach just make me feel so at peace.
Love both car chats and schmoozes! I also just sit this on the desk/table and do other stuff while listening.
I love both the car videos and sit down chatty videos. I like plain sit down but also love watching you put on makeup while talking to us
I like both styles. I probably lean more towards shadow and smooze videos, like I may let just a chatty video sit for a day or 3 before I watch, but shadow and smooze I almost always watch as soon as I see it
I love both car chat and s&s! I think s&s is more fun to me because I like to watch you do makeup - it’s just relaxing like we’re both doing our makeup together just hanging out
Honestly, I really enjoy your chats anywhere, but I'm a little partial to car chats. Your channel is sooo good.
Thanks so much!!!
Omg is anyone else like "You don't know what you got til it's gone" with 15 Days of Foundation 😭 But so glad you're still creating, Taylor!
Yessss. I live in between OKC and DFW-and it’s perfect. Lake, lots of green, and just a short drive to the big city
I have watched your channel since I was a freshman in college and now I am 24. Every single video you put out I relate to and love. Thank you :)
Shoes! Yes, I agree. Makes me more productive
I rarely sit down and watch a video. I like hearing what you’re up to, how things are going in your life.
Coming back to this video to say you influenced me here to get a kindle. In my personal deep dive, I found a kindle page turner remote, which would be great when you aren't feeling well! Thanks for all the book recs!
I love Bend so much. I’ve been meaning to go and tube the river. As someone who lives in OR, it’s always calming 😊
i’m the same way with dying my hair red! sometimes i’m tempted to go to a different color but i just know i’d miss my red hair. it makes me feel alive 🔥
I really enjoy when you do car chats. Not that I dislike shadow and schmooze but you are one of the few people who I enjoy listening to without the additional entertainment.
I would watch Q&A's all day, it's easier to listen without distractions
It really doesn’t matter to me whether you are doing makeup while you chat as I just enjoy listening and it’s usually while I am puttering around the house or putting my makeup on. Love all your content 🥰💞
I love the schmooze in any form! Whether it's car chats or with makeup, or whatever, I'm happy and love watching either way. 😁💜🌻🦋✨
I just love ❤️ Taylor and an upload makes it 💯
sit down chit chats and car ones are best. OMG suits is best. re-binging again daily! Pls find a good SD hair lady. will help us know who to trust!
I very much enjoy videos I can listen to while working or doing something else!
