Fish is out at another Test n Tune to repeat the 1.8 60' he pulled off at the last event. This time, he doesn't miss 2nd gear! Took him 3 or 4 attempts to get it right, but it worked.
Fish has the Blowfish racing shifter mount bracket and Steeda trans mount bushing insert. Everything else about the car is stock, no tune, nothing.
The cam on whatever vehicle that is in the background sounds monstrous in a good way

Its amazing how much a transmission and gearing can effect or increase/decrease 1/4 mile times.

Was my brother's run, but, yeah, he was damn proud of it! Took 3 or 4 attempts that night since 2nd and 3rd locked him out repeatedly.
My stock base 18 runs consistent 12.17s, but our density altitude is very, very good. Below sea level some nights.
What are your 60', 1/8 ET, 1/8 trap, and 1/4 trap for that? For my car to do 12.18, I had to do 1.84 60', 7.899 at 90.37mph 1/8, and 116.07mph in 1/4. I have 3.55's, T56 swap, and 93 tune for reference.
What you think is a good time for a base 2020 gt 6 spd with 235 tires?
@Joseph Fogus Gearing option is most important. Factory tune cuts too much power off the line to worry about spinning the 235's (it's trying to save your clutch from burning up). A tune will remove the protection and greatly improve your launches. The biggest impact is how quickly you can get the car above 5000rpm and making power. When the clutch locks up too low, car bogs through 60ft. After my many runs, a stock car bogging off the line should run 12.7-13.0 as long as it goes into every gear after a 2.0-2.1 60'. IF you can get the clutch to slip and avoid the low rpm bog, then you will feel the rear actually squat and achieve the 1.8-1.9 60'. With that 60', stock power can hit 12.5's. @@Puppyboi12345the mt82 is a paperweight in the hands of a bad driver. Ive had both a used and a brand new one. I probably would have liked my old one better if either of the previous owners knew how to drive.....thing was on its last legs from the beating it was given. As for my new one its flawless🤷♂️ the 10 speed is only slightly faster because its geared better, but thats not worth losing the rush of driving manual.

Reaction time ..... 1.695 seconds (that's five years in drag strip time). Otherwise thank you to the video taker/editor for not INSTANTLY pulling/cutting away from the screens just as they flash the ETs/speeds
You don't worry so much about reaction time when only racing the clock. Definitely would enjoy having a better camcorder with an actual optical zoom to see the finish and results clearly. Money went straight to car parts last 2 years lol.
Ignoring the reaction time the manual car actually got to the 1/8th first but 5mph slower. Auto passed him and won but the speed difference shrank at the end. I would like to see a longer race to see if the manual catches up.
Oh believe me, my brother and I both got whooped by our cousin's 10R80 car on the highway. The manual just can't compete when the 10R80 keeps the coyote at peak power like a damn CVT lol.
Manual or nothin. So thank u for havin a manual over the auto. I keep sayin takes no skill to race a auto car vs manual. I have the same color mine is a 18. Havent taken it to the track yet

Fish's blue 19 GT only had a Blowfish Racing shifter bracket. Everything else is stock with no tuning, factory Michelin 4S tires. He simply pulled off an amazing 60ft on a prepped track night.

@@Karrottop009 I know your MT82 probably broke by now . Did your warranty cover it ? Ford was stupid for not putting a proper 6 speed in such an iconic car .
Fish's was being fixed under warranty, but took so long he used lemon law. Mine started locking out 2nd, so I bought the tremec.

That’s fucking slow!!!! My 2019 10 speed auto base model goes 11.70s @120 mph on a non prep track!!!!

Put 4.56 gears in that car, drag pack with 28 in slicks (recommend Hoosiers), dump the clutch at 5500-6500 rpms, and you will run high to mid 11’s. The old 4V 99-01 Cobra guys with those gears and slicks ran low 11’s with 100 less HP. Be the first and blow the internet up.
I wish, no longer own it. After breaking the transmission I lemon lawed it. My friend Jeff was able to run a high 11 in a stock bullitt with a tire at gateway.
Jonathan Mueller sorry to hear about your car. How and what broke in the transmission? Congrats to your friend...tell him ....don’t fear the gear!
1st -> 2nd gear shift fork. Also, the gear indicator sensor was bad causing a whole slew of problems. It was at the dealership for close to 5 months in total due to back ordered parts so I was pretty over it. Would've loved to do the T56 swap but wasn't in the cards
Unfortunately for my friend he just broke something 3rd gear related in his trans and is in the shop under investigation. His pass was 11.9@116 with zero modifications other than a drag pack.
