My mom had one of these when I was a kid. I loved that car, and the 5 cyl has always been my fav engine layout. So glad people are modifying these and getting the most out of them.
Not really. Fast turbo Volvos are well known since the 1980's and are definetly most common fast wagons on the road. They are pretty fast even as stock.

Once you've seen them at night. UGH, gorgeous. LOL, and watching it try to turn at 5:10 reminded me that it is the car with the WORST turning radius I have EVER owned. LOL. Legendarily bad.
I've just bought an S60R a few weeks ago and the turning radius is just so horrendous it makes me laugh all the time. On my first day driving it I had to reverse back on the street because the entrance to a shopping mall was too narrow for my volvo haha I still haven't tried driving it into an underground parking space. I'm scared!
@@NOV3LIST you get used to it lmao. I’ve had mine for about two years driving it on and off and I have just gotten used to it. My family has had a V70r for the past decade. We picked up my S60r two years ago. I love them.

I would like a bit more burble and a bit more heavier sound. This sounds a bit too much lambo sort of... But I like it, even though I am a 850 fan
My modified c30 does 0-100 5.7 and sounds a touch better it’s more five cylinder like with deeper notes however this v70 has faster top end from 160 km he onwards. The owner says he runs it on 102

I had an S60R for a couple of years. The noise those 5 Cylinders make is incredible. I used to love leaving unsuspecting Audi's and BMW's in the rear view.

A real testament to the quality of these cars: Instrument cluster reads +340000km! Bodywork and interior seems fine. The internals of the drivetrain is most likely updated/uprated, it can stil handle the power after all the km. Mo powa baby!!

I have a 98 s70t5 B5234t9 04 engine with 60k Ttv chrome moly 11lbs single mass flywheel Sachs 707pp with 850r full face sprung disc Snown perf water meth inj 💉❄ Snabb inlet/ rip kit pipes 3.5" maf Deitchwerks 800cc injectors Deitchwerks 300lph pump 3" catless ss vband turboback All poly bushings Viva front and rear strut brace Bc racing coilovers Td05-18g billet 6+6 cw with 9 blade turbine (Td06-20g 14cm not yet installed) Lotek pods, aem x series wb Etc etc Still stock internals and put out 358whp and 486ft lbs @ 24psi tuned by aaron at vast. Have the vvt run off repurposed o2 preheater wires on a load/rpm based map. Love these cars i cant wait to put the 20g and some h beam rods... AWD is nice benefit as well, altho i like the horror of a fwd that tries to kill you lol..
When I worked at a Bentley specialist I took a Turbo R out for a hammering, near Brands Hatch I pulled alongside a T5r and off we went, got to 150_ish and he came past me like I was doing 40. The good old days........
I own a 2006 V70R. Mine is a japanese import. The speedo is also in KMs. I never thought i would see a needle go to 260KMs. Awesome car, awesome drive, awesome sounds. Im sure the petrol gauge must be broken!! At those speeds it must be drinking petrol big style! 😆
These engines are the best with that sound and what a setup. Great to see! The T5 from -05 is better for tuning in terms of durability if anyone would like to go around 450hk with original parts, just a tip from a Swede :)
Yeap, the 05 T5 is the same engine, just with thicker cylinder liners. Planning on building my 05 V70 T5 m66 to around 350-400 hp, and that engine will do it with no sweat.

I love my 2001 S60. T5. Not quite as fast as this car but it makes for a quick and cheap daily driver. Great video as always. Peace.
