Thank you for this tutorial! The first one I watched/followed was very confusing and I sewed my straps inside of my bag 🤦🏻♀️ this tutorial was so much clearer and I made a super cute ‘shopping’ bag for my almost 3 year old!
I needed a bag for my make-up, hairbrush, other toiletries (especially large enough to house my waterpik) when i travel for quick over night or weekend trips so made a mini-tote (not quite the same dimensions as this one) a bit bigger, but not large as i have plenty of those already, this tutorial was absolutely perfect for my bag and it came out so adorable (in fact i had been following along and got done with everything except the last bit of stitching and said "gosh that's soo cute" then get back to the video to hear you say the same thing about yours LOL. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much . I don’t know how many times I have watch and rewatch your video . I made me a tote bag already but I wanted to make a similar one like yours and it turn out good , just a few minor mistakes but I’m going to keep practicing and practicing so I can get it perfect. Thanks again.
Omg thank God I watched youre video. I been having a hard time trying to start my tote. I haven't sewed bags in awhile. I was thinking of putting material in between but this proves that I don't need certain material. I cannot wait to get back to the shop to finish up my bag td. I made a matching ribbon dress to go with it. I cannot wait. !!! Tyvm youre video is such a lifesaver. I almost wanted to give up on sewing again. Tyvm for the motivation to keep me going. I am not a quitter! I want to start up my own shop!. This is just a start.
Thank you! This was the best explanation I have come across. I understand the strap placement now! Finally!I usually do 2different fabrics for the straps and hope the outside fabric is the one I wanted. You are the first one who explained how to make that happen. Thank you again
Thank you for sharing how to make this. I've made one today for my neice ready for Christmas. With the cost of living going through the roof, I'm going to try to make gifts this year and need the time to make them. My niece will love her pink and red dog bag.
Such a great tutorial. I used this to make matching bags for myself and my daughter. Came back to find the same video to make the bag again ❤️ this time a gift for a friend 😊
Back again because I have to relearn how to sew and turn bags when they have a lining every single time i do it... haha. Modifying for a drawstring bag this time :)
If you could write the measurements in the description that would help alot! I'm super new and this video was great!! Very clear instructions and I feel confident in trying it out! Thank you for providing this video!!
@@NoTraceShop I made the tote bag! Oh my gosh is perfect! I have Autism and my fine motor skills aren't great but your directions are Stella! I'm so proud of myself! I want to make them all now! Thank you so so much !!!!!! 💙
I like your bag size; as I want to make a small one. Just a couple of ideas for doing it. First of all, you don't need to use a pin to turn the fabric. They can open up in the middle of pushing it through and it's miserable to get it out. Use a paper clip. It's safer and quicker. When turning a corner to get a good sharp corner - sew down the fabric leaving about 1/4" before you'd stop at the bottom and just turn the fabric at a small angle. Take one hand stitch to it and lift up the pressure foot and turn the fabric straight to sew across the bottom. Do this at each corner and you will have sharp corners. Otherwise sometimes the corners will look rounded. The edges of the lining should be trimmed with pinking shears or just trimmed all around to reduce bulk. The loop on the outer side is cute and something can be hung on it. I prefer a pocket to put a water bottle in on the front and a velcro or snap flap over the top of the bag to secure it. Where did you get your Juki sewing machine?
I made this cute tote bag today and it turned out amazing! I would like to make another tote bag, the same way this one was made but a normal size. What would the new measurements be?
Absolutely! You could probably get 4 bag panels (inner & outer layers) from 1 fat quarter. 2 fat quarters would make 2 bags. You might even have enough for the straps too.
@@NoTraceShop thank you. That must be a high-end model. Do you have recommendations for a Juki simple computerized sewing machine that is a little less expensive? Thanks!

I made this cute tote bag today and it turned out amazing! I would like to make another tote bag, the same way this one was made but a normal size. What would the new measurements be?
18" x 18" is a good size for a larger tote! but you can really make it any size you want!
I am trying a new measurement, I really hope the tote bag comes out alright!
Just soo cute bag !!
Thank you so much :)!
Great! I loved the tutorial I am new to sewing I might have missed hearing you but what were the measurements for the straps?
In the description :)
Too cute! What are the materials made of? Did you pre wash them?
Hi! I use organic cotton fabric for this project. I didn't prewash them but you certainly could if you wanted :).
I can't sew a straight line! But this is a very good tutorial for a beginner . . . .. who can't sew a straight line! LOL.
😆 Keep at it & thanks for sharing!!
Can you put fusible interfacing to the material on wrong side prior to sewing x
Hi Wendy - yes, you could do that if you want a stiffer bag. you could also sew this with canvas for a stiffer bag :) .

This mini tote bag is so cute!
By the way, can you suggest a website where I can order my printed labels?
Thanks Penny! 😊 I get my labels on Etsy. I use organic cotton labels, which are a little hard to find but they're there!
What age is the mini tot bags for
Any age, really! It's great for small kids or adults!
Three inch by what????????
30
🤣
What type of fabric did you use pleas. X
This is all 100% organic cotton. Any quilting cotton/cotton poplin will work well. Canvas will work too!
