The family at my great grandpa's time, my grandpa's time, my uncles' and father's time not even 1 relative asked for even 1 rupee from their to-be-wives. It's only in past 20 years I can see many families are following the "Fashion" of dowries. I might be only half-right, but don't think in old times dowry system was as much as it is today. Only in old times, it was called DOWRY. In modern times, it's called "Lifestyle necessities" - and the shocking thing is, it is happening more from girl's family side then boy's. 💀 Just recently 2-3 different families visited our home for my brother's arranged marriage. One thing was common in ALL of them - "The girl needs more money, a seperate house, and government job for a perfect husband"....... Hello, like are you looking for a 'Good companion' for a lifetime, or just someone who is rich??! When it comes to marriage, today's generation have lost the sense of love, everything has become MATERIALISTIC.

Bahu is always treated as property one can own. Property of in-laws. This gives them right to do anything with bahu. Some do social evils like violence and abuse while others with humanity treat her with respect. I am sure this video was also made by a patriarchal supporter(directly or indirectly). Even this concept is flawed. Marriage is a mutual thing. If the guy's parents have to give dowry to the girl's family, this is also wrong. It's like they are buying "heere jaisi beti" with 10 lakh rupee and other things

In Islam, A dowry is a gift, or a promise of a gift, TO THE WIFE BY THE HUSBAND. But the shaytan changed it’s roles and made these people like him, it’s sad that the fact that boy’s family is taking that precious girl away from their family and instead of giving them, they’re asking from the girls instead. What a trick of shaytan.

There are many poor boys who are happy to take their precious daughter away from her family to his house without any dowry.. But, the daughters are not ready to marry such poor men, and so her parents start offering dowry to attract marriage proposals from only Rich men..

Though maybe not the best, this idea is still better or at least more logical than the one where an Indian dad loses both his daughter as well as his wealth and the groom is probably an irresponsible fellow 🙂

Girls should have enough guts to say no to such people, that comes from parents.
Marriage should not be her ultimate goal in life, that to comes from parents to some extent .Ultimately it depends on how she has been raised ,to be independent or to take abuse. Its usually to take abuse.
