Quick little error: The samples from Jocko Homo only actually appear in a short film called "The Truth About De-Evolution" which contains Jocko Homo in the soundtrack. Jocko Homo itself doesn't have the synth riff. Edit: Turns out, it's only contained in the 1974 demo version of the track.
lmao, i remember hearing about an interview with justice where they mentioned microsampling, and a sample from slipknot.. glad to know we found the sample
Glad to see samples found by iammagna here. A lot of other samples found by the community are missing, that would be very nice to see an entire compilation (even if it means displaying that it's still a disputed sample somewhere). Very nice breakdown, and i know how repetitive and tiresome to do these videos can be.
Here's a fun sample you missed for Stress: "M1308 - Gekitotsu!! 100-Oku Pawā no Senshi-tachi (part. 3) - Clash!! 100,000,000 Powerful Warriors" The violins here were sampled and pitched down to act as the main lead of the song, however, Justice is not the only French creator who use this as a sample. Kavinsky in his song titled "Rampage" also used this as the lead for his song, but his usage of it is less choppy and prominent than Justice's usage of it. I just thought it was cool to mention it since it's such a great sample to listen to!
You know that metal door sound that you hear a lot in movies? Or that laugh track that you recognize from that one show that you sometimes hear in other shows? That's because not every sound you hear in things like that is original. Sometimes, either out of lazyness, rush of production or other reasons, the sound engineers can't record new sounds just for the purpose of using them in the show. What they use instead are sound libraries, maintained by certain recording labels. They can be a bit more difficult to find as a layperson but yeah you can find them, and some producers, including french house producers like Justice and Daft Punk had used sound library stock sounds (like the demonstrated radio frequency sweep sound, or the Daft Punk example from their Homework album, crowd noises and animal sounds) to give their music more of a specific "movie" vibe.
That first sample is from the original Godzilla theme, Pharoahe Monch was sampling that also.
but Justice wrote on the album booklet that they sampled PHAROAHE MONCH! PLEASE STOP 🆘🆘🆘

Ooh and I guess the Bee Gees sample at 7:01 is technically a classical piece by Mussorgsky (Disco Mountain/Bald Mountain)
@@ric2841 it's not the same
ok that slipknot sample threw me for a fuckin loop
God damn never truly knew how many samples they used for this. Crazy.
Times like these where umpteen is a very important number
Sample haters see this and think "How unoriginal! Record some real instruments, it's not that hard. Quit stealing!"
It's True. How Is Sampling Music Considered Stealing. Because It Is Not Even Stealing
I could see it to some degree but the way they use the samples is so innovative that in no way could you call it “stealing”

thank you
This is so well put together - awesome job!!
having a devo sample from the intro of a music video is such a dumb deep cut & i love it
I have the feeling that Devo is pretty honored and proud to be used. They’re honestly so weird that seeing them pop up anywhere makes me happy
First one is already a sample from a musical theme used in numerous soundtracks of japanese Godzilla movies
NO WAY

I Like Who They Sampled Newer Songs, Mostly 9 Songs From The 2000s
Are you going to do more Justice sample videos using the recently found samples?
I knew for a fact when i listened to it that it was the horns from the Godzilla theme.
Underrated video
masterpiece
are we sure for the 50 cent clap ??
They’ve confirmed it i think
Yeah, it's confirmed
I think it is processed and has another snare as a layer, but if you pay attention you can hear that part of the snare is the 50 cent clap
yes, they actually said they used it lol

Amazing video, also is the timpani at the start of Tenebre used in Genesis?
interesting theory
Probably, since Justice sampled the theme for Argento's TENEBRÆ on Phantom, so they probably re-used it for Genesis
i thought they sampled ‘suspense accents 06’ from imovie’s ilife sound pack on stress?
same
There's also missing samples on D.A.N.C.E. including vocals
