To paraphrase Philion himself: this whole movement would be a _tiny_ bit less embarrassing if they could, at the very least, _look the part_ to a degree.

Has any major movement actually ever looked the part?
Big defender of a working class- Carl Marx, never set foot in a factory, and treated his servants terribly.
Big defender of the republic and rights of the people- Jefferson owned slaves.
Big defender of racial purity- Adolph H looked like a runt.
Let's be real here, most movements are feels over reals.

That kindof misses how this style of RP movement started though. It was to teach average/below average guys to get girls. They buy from other guys who are average/below average - if you're not good looking, why buy a course from Ryan Reynolds on how to get women? Totally unrelatable. If you're a gigachad, you'll just remind your target audience of the guys who used to bully them in school.

I used to work washing cars in a dealer and wanted to sell cars, so I went to this « sales guru » selling course, we were 10 in the room, and needed to pass the aptitude test to be selected, which was basically introducing yourself and why you want to be in sales. There was a guy, with stained cloths, with a big untrimmed beard, with massive stuttering, so bad that no one understood what he was saying. At the end the guy said “good news, you are all qualified to be excellent closers”, he then proceeded to ask 3000$ for the course.
That is when I realized they just accepted anyone with money, so I bought Joe Girard’s books for 20$, found a dealer who gave me a chance and on my 5th year selling cars I sold 270 cars.
You don’t need those gurus for anything in your life, all you need is confidence and hard work.

I used to watch the guy from time to time about 10 years ago and he actually talked about social dynamics back then.
His whole ethos was that you had to improve yourself and become who you wanted to be before worrying about getting women.
It was about achieving happiness and sharing it with others, girls included.
Obviously there has always been some kind of rant and you had to be aware that the fluff was bullshit.
At the time pick up was about standard lines, routines and attacking the self-esteem of others (aka "negging" for those who remember) so his message was actually a big improvement.
Believe it or not, he played a part in the decline of the pickup culture which diluted itsefl into the larger self-improvement industry.

Negging was a thing in like the late 90s, early 00s.
Advice on the like of "just make more money bro", "just be more social bro" and "just be funny bro" to get women is exactly as useless as giving no advice at all. Might as well say "just be over 6ft tall bro". Yeah no shit that those things help. Problem is that those things are not an option for everyone, specifically for guys that struggle to get attention from women, that happens because of those reasons.
The only accurate part about PUA is that they tell you that if you want to get women that are "out of your league" you have to be a lying manipulative piece of shit. That works. If you rent a Maserati for a weekend, airbnb a big house with a private pool, get 100K instagram followers from some botfarm, and go to an upscale club you can convince some dumb chick youre rich and then theyll go home with you. You'll have blown a months salary but you get laid.

9:52 is the realest shit lol, so many people just operate on that rinse 'n repeat "hmm, yes but-" and "almost, except that-" type loop. They are only interested in establishing dominance through critique, often thinly veiled as advice or willingness to help others. It's laughably sad.

Back in 2012 - 2015 I used to watch so much RSD content and to be frank at that time the information they preached was good regarding self improvement and women. We even had a HUB in my local town called RSD, boys in our 20's trying to get good with girls. I don't regret those times, however, as I got older, I saw their malicious marketing schemes and hook up's, which shattered me at the least that I had been lied to like that. Honestly, it was not that bad back in the day, however, now it is ridicilous. Especially Tyler and Julien.

To be honest. It took me 39 years to accumulate wisdom and knowledge that allows me to discredit guys like that within 10 seconds of watching them. When I was young, I was looking for answers and would have most likely come across this man and not be able to recognize the nonsense he is letting out. Simply because you think you might be too young or stupid to understand what he is talking about....so I get it, seeing the people there, just grasping for straws. They just never had made the experience they needed, to avoid morons like these gurus and find to a good life through work and dedication.
