  • Real time recording of setting up and launching my Honwave T32-IE with Yahama 6hp outboard from the beach in Kircubbin, Northern Ireland. I found others videos really useful when deciding which boat to get and what accessories where needed so hopefully this video will help someone else.

    Never, ever put your VHF down or remove it from yourself when on your own. If you fall out, that boat will be blown away from you like the engine is still running and nobody will know you are in the sea, requiring immediate assistance. Safety first always.

I can appreciate the placement of all your gear for the sake of the video... Again very well organized. I would however place the heaviest items over the wheels when hauling....let the wheels carry the load 😉 awesome video. 👌 Thank you for sharing.!

    Inflatable boats are hard work! not only do you have to set it all up, you have to get it back up the beach (hopefully brimming with fish) get it packed in the car again. get it home and wash it down, dry it and then bag it up again. All in all well worth the effort :)

    Yep, the headache of getting a boat over a rocky beach with the tide out ! I find it easier to get the boat down as close as I can to the waters edge then go back and bring down the gear separably, its a bit of a palaver but find it easier than pulling a fully loaded boat over the rocky beach. I trailer mine now so you will find a trailer a lot easier but then you have the added pain of finding somewhere to leave it as well as the car ! Nice place.

  • @rw0050
    @rw0050 Год назад +3

    I'm a little concerned about you wearing Waders. From where the video ended, I seen the water was still shallow. In deeper water, it is possible to slip in the water causing the Waders to fill up and taking you to the bottom before you can get them off. I had a cousin who drown in a lake while wearing them. Please be aware --------

    • @Antti_Iltanen
      @Antti_Iltanen 10 месяцев назад +1

      Sorry to hear about your cousin. 😔
      In this instance though, he's wearing an automatic life vest that'll immediately inflate if he falls in and will turn him face up in water even if he'd be unconscious.
      As for waders filling up, as they fill up with water they won't weigh more than water itself so they won't actively pull you down, they'll make it harder to get back above the surface.
      Since he has the automatic life vest, he'll have plenty of time to get out of the waders and to climb back into the dinghy or be rescued.

    Well, it's a working setup, at least in this super calm "lake-y" beach with negligible surf; once again confirm my decision of not getting another inflatable, and the toughest part is yet to be shown -- unpacking and putting the boat back to the car with all the mud and stuff at the end when you are already exhausted. I hate my porta bote but there's no better option still, boating is such an expensive hobby when one try to be just a little bit more serious. I hope there is a $10k solution to 17 ft, rigid bottom, pack-able on SUV without trailer, lightweight (carry-able by 1 man) boat... keep dreaming~ XD

    Just note check the way you are starting the Yamaha. That nice new engine should start one or two pulls. I am not picking at ya. I got one and it can sit for months (I drain and properly wash off) and it ALWAYS CRANKS ONE FIRST PULL. Yours should too. THEY ARE Fantastic ENGINES.

  • @bobbyd6499
    @bobbyd6499 3 года назад

    I will bet you $1,000 that once you unpack that inflatable boat and use it for the day, once you deflate it after you’re done, you will NEVER get that self-same boat BACK into its outer bag/wrap. I had a Zodiac with a similar configuration. Only one way is to use a vacuum pump to remove ALL the air from the boat’s innards. Only THEN can you even make an ATTEMPT to squeeze it back into its carry bag. Although, the COOLEST thing about my old zodiac was that it had 3 under riggers under the floor that made it corner like NO big lake boat could, even with a simple 40hp outboard motor. I pissed off a lot of so-called big lake boats with men who wanted to drown me & run over my dinghy with their own boats, but they could NEVER catch me due to my INCREDIBLY HIGH MANEUVERABILITY! In fact (I live in Illinois), & in Wisconsin on Lake Winnebago, I had an A-hole chase me in his big powerful twin motor cabin cruiser for almost an hour (my dog was aboard also), and FINALLY a Wisconsin D.O.N.R.’s (Department Of Natural Resources- basically COP BOAT) “pulled him over” and initially cited him for reckless endangerment, until they found out that he & his entire crew were SEVERELY INTOXICATED. THEY went to jail and their boat was impounded. 😝, ONCE IN A BLUE MOON JUSTICE REALLY IS SERVED. Hallelujah!!! P.S. ya moron, where is your 4’x8’ flat trailer that you could place the dinghy on and WHEEL it to the shore without scraping the CRAP OUTTA the bottom of your VINYL boat. You have ZERO common sense!

    I have always said these boats are all the same. They generally only come from a few factories that do many many company’s boats. This one with the integrated high pressure floor is the most unique!! I would prefer the seats that are on the lengthwise bead attached to the hull vs the hoops. You can infinitely adjust the seat to where you want, or need it, really easily. There’s no adjustments for this seat.

    Please NEVER fill with air the bow first. Its a rule to this boats. Always fill the back tubes first full and leave the bow last ALWAYS when filling them with air. Its very big mistake. The verical pieces that divede the back tubes from the bow tubes are stretched with air towards the bow when u fill them first. So in case the bow gets a hole and loose the air your back tube will be still full strecthed with air and so the will be able to hold you corectly on surface of water and even drive the engine. When u fill with air the bow first those vertical dividers are pushed back with result when u fill up the back tubes if u loose the air in bow the back tubes wont be streched with air anymore and will look like they lost air because the diveders will pushed to the side of bow . In that case you loose a very significant amount of presure and u cant drive with deflated back tubes. Sorry english isnt my language but i guess u got what i mean. I had the same boat many years ago but with wooden floor and v-shaped hull in a diferent way but doesnt matter the tubes where exactly the same. It was the instructions the manufacturer gave me when i got the boat its not my thinkings. Be safe . Thanks.

I'd be concerned that it could have come out and fouled the propellor, risking the engine, transducer and even the sponson. Second thing when launching using wheels. Wheel it out as far as you can until the boat is floating then fold the wheels up.

    Thanks for your replies chris. I am not being funny but I do have a pretty legitimate question. As when one is out fishing with a friend what should they do if a call of nature is recieved lol. Hope you understamd what am I referring too. Do you keep a bottle in the boat? And if the number 2 call is recived what can one do to deal with that?

    Hi bro this is by far the best video I have seen so far related to dingy boat fishing in the UK. I believe that you loving fishing just like myself especially sea fishing. I live in Bradford west Yorkshire. I have been thinking about sea fishing for a long time and have come to this conclusion that by having an inflatable boat one can properly enjoy fishing. I just need to know whether this boat will fit in a car eaily rolled up? I have an a3 Audi. By looking at your toyota I guess I shouldn't have any problem. You have mentioned the link about the price of the boat and the engine. Did you buy a new engine? I live about 70 miles away from the east or west coast of uk. What about the running and maintainance cost of this boat? I have no idea as I am a complete novice. Some people have mentioned in the comments that you have to pay for the lauch fee etc. Is the engine economical on fuel? Plus the fish finder and the vhf how much can they cost. And where do you store the boat? I dont have a luxary of a garage attached to my house. I will be hrateful for your reply . And just one brotherly advice for you please dont go fishing by yourself
    Take somebody with else. According to my experience sea is merciless and nobody's friend.

    I’d recommend ditching the waders as if you fall out the waders will fill of water and weigh you down

      Water weighs nothing underwater.

      Mr J Ashton-Tyler trust me, been there, don’t wanna be dragging a full pair of waders out the water!

      @@stevemiddleton948 Agreed - but getting *out* of the water is different - you'd take them off in the water while they're weightless before getting out. While you're *in* the water considering your options they don't weigh you down.
