Why is it that in today’s feminist culture, the woman is a considered a victim and the man a predator. This is such a lie. The woman knew he was a married man, old enough to be her grandfather and that she was in sin. She should be exposed and not protected.

I still have great admiration for Steve Lawson, and I'm confident that God still has a purpose for his calling. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, sees the log in every man's eye. However, it's His ability to bring one's sin into repentance by His Holy Spirit, that brings glory to our Lord. If God is in control, then we are confident that the results, will be for the glorification of God, through Jesus Christ, and the power of His Holy Spirit. Psalm 34:18. If God is finished with Steve Lawson, then we ALL, should have something to worry about.

I pray for her too. I'm sure that she feels guilty about this as well. Especially, since it's out in the open now. I'm VERY careful about throwing stones at this one. Why? Because it will escalate the sin, and make the Grace of God secondary to this situation. Yes, we should grieve over this. But grief, brings us closer to God's Grace. Pointing fingers at Steve and the gal he was with, only glorifies the sin, and not God's Grace.

We need to be gracious towards brothers and sisters in Christ when they have fallen short of God's glory. Hello Della, I agree and think you are asking the right question! This question speaks to the heart of the matter for all pastors to remember. 1 Timothy 3:4 reminds those called as overseers that their family MUST be their first ministry. As a pastor, I know how time-consuming the ministry can be, but I can never compromise my first priority to my wife and children. And I think this is a common area where many pastors fall short. These kinds of incidents are a sobering reminder for pastors to not let that happen! Thank you and God bless! :)

Falling into temptation is not a surprise. I will be more surprised if he had not confessed his sin despite the conviction of the HS, and no repentance. He did right in confessing and the local church leaders giving the right disciplinary action. We all have to remind ourselves that the bible is full of examples of God’s chosen people falling into temptation. The difference is the attitude of the heart,do we continue in that specific sin without repenting..or do we turn away from it by confessing when the HS convicts us and ask for forgiveness and restoration and healing from our Lord and Saviour as well as from our loved ones and church.🙏❤️

I am not saddened by this as I do not know what God's plan is. Maybe God wants to show us that even though we think we are righteous, none are. Every single pastor commits sin to a varying degree. Every single Christian commits sin to a very young degree. There is only one in history that never committed a sin, My Lord and my Savior. Satan tests all of us every second of every day. Should Peter have been kicked to the curb because he denied knowing Jesus three times??? Dr Lawson slipped, what he does afterwards will determine who he is. Ultimately it doesn't matter to any of us who he is, it only matters to God.

In this case Dr Lawson spoke from the scriptures and the veracity of his sermons still hold true. Remember the best of men are but men at best. Steve Lawson, more than anyone else in the many years that I have been born again, has influenced my theology and Christian life. His series on the attributes of God exposed how I had “squeezed” God into God is love, which He is, and shortsighted myself to His other attributes, such as wrath, justice, judgment, and vengeance. His teaching on the Trinitarian Jesus, the resurrected Jesus, showed how I had also locked Him into the Godman Jesus of the gospels, ignoring the resurrected Jesus who threatened churches in Revelation with serious consequences if they didn’t repent. It showed me that the Trinitarian Jesus, God the Son, is demanding when it comes to sin in the church - and in my life. Stop sinning! Steve’s teachings unmasked the sentimentalist Jesus I had grown accustomed to who is soft on sin: the Jesus of most of the American church and in my life: not the “real” Jesus. God used Steve to instill in me that Jesus “demands” me to live a holy life. I believe when saved you are saved forever. But Jesus is also my Judge, and of all born-again believers. He died so He will see the agony of His soul and be satisfied (Isaiah 53: 11); all born-again believers are the agony of His soul. And I want Him to be fully satisfied with me because I took sin seriously beyond new birth to live a holy life. God used Steve Lawson to teach me it and to move forward to where I am today - and the knowledge of the Word to keep moving forward until I reach heaven. Never once did I think of him as a celebrity preacher, nor on a pedestal - only as a man who rightly divided the Word of God. Be careful how you denigrate his work. And him. You could be guilty of sin right along with Steve.

Calvinistic theology would have you believe that God predetermines everything that comes to pass, even the sinful decisions and actions people make.
This puts the blame on God. In other words, God does not just "allow" these sinful actions, but rather God "makes" them happen.
Calvinism is a man made teaching that undermines the holiness of God, and the responsibilty of man.
We need more men who not only "KNOW" the truth, but "LIVE" the truth.

Was he too adulated, idolized? I do not know. But what he taught applies to him too ... The Lord chooses servants who serve brothers and sisters, and not who reign over them. He does not give His glory to another. What is happening speaks to all of us, in the depths of our consciences and our hearts. "Let he who is without sin be the first to cast a stone at him" ..... Most moral and financial sin in the church has started from a wrong understanding of doctrine. When we get our theology wrong .... we are open to moral failure. Pastor Lawson promoted the unbiblical doctrine of Calvinism.
Still, all you Calvinists out there, need not worry .... Pastor Lawson will still make it to heaven ... because he believed in the unbiblical doctrine of The Perseverance of the Saints (or OSAS). Also, he could not really help from falling into sin .... because he had been predestined to do so by his sovereign God.

Thank you for having Ann and the Lawson children on your heart 😢, pray for them. The dust settles at the church, but it never settles for them. It doesn’t mean Jesus doesn’t minister to their inner man, but this is the cruelest thing a husband can do to his wife. Ann has just “licked the floor of hell” (Lysa TerKeurst). Malachi 2:15 Didn’t the LORD make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth. Steven has overwhelmed his wife Ann with cruelty “saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.” v16. My friend who had been raped said, “this is worse than rape”, and I agree with her. I can’t describe the sorrow that remains. Men please don’t leave this kind of legacy.

Amen and amen. Ann and the children...they are the victims, and they need our prayers. This is what it means to pray with specificity! We pray that God comfort them as victims. We pray that Ann be strengthened in this terrible event. We pray that God convict Dr. Lawson to repentance, and we pray that Trinity Bible Church forge ahead in faith. Thank you for your comment!

If you have been taught by Lawson, you'd be believing his teaching that every miniscule detail (including this transgression by Lawson) has been Calvinistically predestined before creation by the Calvinistic Reformed Theology god, for the glory of the Calvinistic Reformed god. So I'm not sure why you are so troubled by what's happened? Isn't Lawson compatibilistically obeying the Calvinistic Reformed god's decretal will? Shouldn't you be applauding your Calvinistic Reformed god's glorious action?

I am so glad you said that.... I thought it, but didn't have the nerve to mention it. I am not a Calvinist ... but I do listen to the preaching of some godly Calvinist men. However, I always thought there was something ... just not right about Steve Lawson. I couldn't put my finger on it .... but I just could not listen to his preaching.

This isn't a surprise because these preachers are believers who aren't eligible to preach the word of God in light of Acts 1:8.
In this regard even John MacArthur is ineligible because he too a believer, therefore these preachers are serving two masters both God & Satan, so how to wear discern? John MacArthur or Paul Washer or Steve Lawson etc., all of these men preach that nobody is born without sin except JESUS but at the same time they preach that sexual relationships between husband and wife inside marriage isn't a sin, if it's not a sin then how do they say all are born with sin except JESUS?
Only JESUS is born without sin, the rest of all are born with sin, that clearly proves even sex between husband and wife inside marriage is also sin.
Because of these double standards, preachers like Steve Lawson are failing. So, western theology is absolutely wrong.

Discernment folks, discernment! and its not just about ticking the right theological boxes. Does the person have the fragrance of Christ? Gentleness, love etc when communicating. And sorry to say, but this man did not! Its not just charismatics/pentecostals that lack discernment
