Today marks one year of my weight loss program. I have lost 80# averaging 1.6# per week. I binged on my vacations, holiday functions with family and friends. My sweetie and I have adult beverage every day. I used Keto Mojo to monitor my blood sugar, ketones, GKI and of course MY BOZ INDEX. I really took it slow and steady and while I had ups and downs, over time I attained excellent results. Thank You Dr. Boz for your great videos. They helped me greatly to achieve this. God Bless You P.S. I am 80 years old.
I mention my efforts to control my metabolic health to every health care provider I see. I am managing a terminal disease and I see a number of different providers. I casually mention the improvements I see since eliminating sugar from my diet in patient support groups. I hope people get curious and look for more information even if they don’t ask me questions. I truly believe my keto/carnivorish lifestyle has slowed disease progression.
I installed CGM Dexcom Stelo yesterday. This morning it shows that ice cream yesterday after dinner was a big mistake. Hopefully, Stelo will keep me honest. 😊 Thank you, Dr Boz! ❤
Glucose down, ketones up, ratio 20-50, still no weight loss!! Is my body healing instead? On my 3rd sardine fast.. did 4 days last time and lost 3lbs. Then it stalls. Using carb mgr, carbs under 20, protein 27-50g, fat 150+g.
Big Belly=Metabolic syndrome and almost everyone in the Midwest has it. Went to a water park in Rapid City a few weeks ago. There were hundreds of people there and almost everyone had a big belly, even teenagers.
I love the King Oscar brand boneless skinless mackerel in olive oil. 240 calories and 3500 mg omega 3 fatty acids per serving. It has a very mild taste with firm fillets and is delicious.
My mother warned me years ago (I'm 77) when she said "Do not let the medical industry get their hooks into you because if they do they will not let go until you are either dead broke or dead, whichever comes first!".
My mom has end stage kidney disease and 2 weeks ago had a GFR of 9. Finally she is ready to manage and fix this the correct way. What kind of diet should she be eating to get rid of her diabetes, raise her GFR and avoid dialysis. What other advice would you have? Love to see a video on this.
Dr. Boz, I made My Doctor test My fasting Insulin, it was 11.4 and C-Peptide was 4.7. Is this normal ? All My Dr. Said was I make plenty of Insulin 🤷🏻♂️
Anyone out there experience mini hotflashes after a few days low carb? I'm 74. yrs old & post menopausal since age 56 yrs. I'm hoping it's temporary cause hotflashes suck. Glucose is great
Dr. Boz, my husband is on statin drugs because he has four very old stents. His doctor does not want to take him off the statins because of the stents. Is this good advice?
anyone go carnivore and notice you can now see all the veins in your lower legs now? This has happened to me and I really dont like it. It looks like the skin is paper thin. someone recently told me that people who have hiv look this way so im a little disturbed by the look
So I have a puzzle about this subject regarding when a T2D goes on a keto/carnivore diet that the gluconeogenesis is kicking out a level over 100 and sometimes over 180 in the morning, why is this happening and does it ever adapt back down to "normal"? So I can see how the disease progresses, I've understood this for 15 years on my own health journey, but from a physiological or research definition, whichever is known, where is the tipping point where this pathology gets entrenched and then the runaway effects start happening? I will guess that it is the pancreas beta cells get tired? And is that point where a T2D is now also dependent on insulin injections? This is fascinating to me... I like helping people and I send them to your channel as well as Dr. Berg's. I will add one more thing: I don't like to get started with people about diet and nutrition because it makes a lot of ppl upset and they don't want to give up their food addictions, mostly it's either bread, chips, or ice cream... processed foods. I'd say to them "let them eat cake" but then they're off on another sugar binge completely missing my point and my joke. LOL
i have similar issue - gluconeogenesis: my liver makes my BS ~180! eating little to no meat. Eating about 1/2 stick of butter ~6 times a day - only and finally days later my BS is down to 105 and keytones are 2.1 so may be able to stop fast in a day or few …
My question is, why do slim people break down and get health problems quicker than those who get fat, and then my next question is, if you get your health sorted and slim down, and then start eating unhealthy again would your health problems speed up because of being slim 🤪
I think hereditary influences (nature) sets the groundwork for inflaming the bodies response to environmental interference (nurture)…genes predispose the potential for a disease response
The main cause is diet and lifestyle. Untreated Sleep Apnea is a contributing factor. If the diet and lifestyle is adjusted many people have reversed their Type 2 Diabetes. Some people are more predisposed to getting Type 2 Diabetes if their parents had it, but it depends on their diet and lifestyle whether they will develop it.
How do you know it’s hereditary? Maybe it’s passed from one generation to the next, because they all eat crap. Even if it is genetic, the way genes express is based on the environment, and food makes a huge difference.
5 Sept. 2024 Biochemistry pathology is interesting to me and as I increase my own understanding of the subject I look forward to your straightforward presentations that are clear concise and well informed. I recommend your channel to everyone I know and meet to learn the facts of proper dietary protocols. I am grateful for your dedicated work and presence for ordinary people on the internet and I pray for your abundance that you can continue your purpose successfully.🍞🍷

I’m currently on holiday in Turkey, I’ve noticed a lot of people walking around with glucose monitors stuck to their arm
I like that Dr. Boz pronounces diabetes just like the late great Wilford Brimley 👍. Both pronunciations are correct.
Vita min C and glucose have similiar
structure so
High sugar levels create C deficiency

Yumm. Microplastics
I luv King Oscar, great taste, Chicken of the sea in Evo is also quite good and is on sale 18 for $18 on Amazon.
The skin and bones are also packed with nutrients. You are missing out on some healthy goodness!
I like the King Oscar boneless and skinless sardines in olive oil..just can't do the bones and skin yet 😢..I drain the oil off bc I don't trust it..
Yup.. And docs do not care… Thank you docs
Head up to the hospital and check out the limb removals...💀💀🐑🐑🤡🤡

Love ur content Doc!
But the real hero would be the person that invents an insulin monitor 😊
What gives with that, is it possible? or suppressed?
Dr Boz what about an article on left branch block. The problem of course electrical. There does not seem to be much on pubmed.

5-7 g of sugar at a time. Interesting - any more than that in a meal and the sugar sets off my pancreatitis - now I know why.

pH less than 7 could be a common problem. mine was 6 on lab tests so i'm using some baking soda to raise it. i have more energy.

How much longer can I go on the sardines challenge? I'd like to go longer than 3 days. What do you recommend?
She just had a video about somebody being in the challenge for 90 days. Check it out.

Tried to eat a sardine….. nope
Try King Oscar brand boneless skinless mackerel in olive oil. 3500 mg Omega 3 fatty acids per serving and for some much easier to eat than sardines.
Hahaha. I bought 2 cans about a month ago to try. They’re still sitting in my pantry.
Try putting some white wine vinegar on em. Only way I can stand em. Lol
Use high quality fish oil capsules. Forget eating the gross fish.
Try smoked herring.
Dr. Boz, try a 5 day dry fast. Look at Dr. Dunning book with bird name in title.
