I believe it was in this body style that Toyota switched to the 3.5 V6. Around 2006-2007. Don't know why anyone would need 268HP (in 2007) or 296HP (in 2020), but the 3.5 exists for that. At least this second gen is a huge improvement over the first. Fact: this sienna has only 15hp less than the 2021 sienna hybrid. Edit: I forgot to add, this is a very popular car in most parts of Africa, especially for road trips and family cars. It's even more popular than the Odyssey.
Great review! I own couple of vehicules, and one of them is a 2005 fwd Sienna, base model (CE). I bought it new in march 2005, and I still own it. It has 290000km (180000 miles), and it's running strong. Can surely double that milage easily. Only good things to say about it. I live in Canada (Montreal) and this vehicule is VERY reliable. Day after day, snow, freezing rain, hot summer, name it, the Sienna NEVER failed. Never. I bought a vehicule, and I received a Tank. And yes like you said this vehicule has a lot of memories, and thanks to you to raise that about high milage cars. New subscriber now :)
What a kick ass interview I got a 2005 in 2007 and still have it in 2021. 3 kids 4 dogs and 2 hamsters rode back and forth and international. Towed job trailers & many boats. It's at 150k now and just keeps going. Ol' Faithful! And yes they all smell the same. My 2000 4Runner has the same smell.
I had a 2006 Toyota Sienna LE with 230k miles and it would take me anywhere. I had to sell it but dam…. It was a great car for me in high-school. Lots of room in the back without seats 🥵
I agree. I wonder why people go for SUVs (except off road driving, which most people will never do throughout their lives) over minivans. If you want a comparably practical SUV, you'll end up getting a Surburban or an Expedition Max for almost twice the price. And good luck trying to park those in your garage or on a busy street. Midsized SUVs are about the same size as minivans, but most of them will never be able to seat 7 or 8 comfortably with their stuff like a minivan does. It's great to see that a few brands are still committed to minivans while all the others have given up on the segment altogether.
Love the nostalgia! Hoping to buy one in midnight blue with AWD in Alaska and driving back to Tennessee. She has 300k on her. Fingers crossed she makes it. #YotaTough
I'm surprised a 2005 came with a cassette player. I thought they were out by the late 1990s. Even my mother's 2003 Corolla came with an in-dash CD player, but it might have been part of an option package.
Hey brother, I am in the market for a sienna and I was wondering if you could guide me in terms of what mileage I should be buying it at, immediate / future repairs, what year etc.
So no one is going to mention the coolant gauge on H? Was it overheating or what
These siennas are tanks,I know two people with siennas over 200,000 miles trouble free
200,000 isnt much for a reasonable well maintained toyota. Talk about 400,000+ and then we are talking.
Looks like a bad thermostat at 2:43. Either that or the van's overheating
Good observation!
Hopefully it was just a faulty gague cluster and not a overheating problem.

They say 2006 - 2008 sienna has transmission issues🤔
Don’t speak Ill about my beloved 1st gen sienna

Definitely right! In terms of family carrier, the minivan will always be king

@@damilolaakanni As a man with children, space and accessibility should always be prioritized than style or trends.
You are so eloquent with all your comments! Thanks for such a great review, Zack!
Xle limited awd trims gets you all the bells and whistles.
Your one of those only RUclipsrs I watch as soon as I see ur vid I like this👍😏
Got one same color you showed with with friends. 06 CE. Bought it with 200k now 210k no problems no mayor maintenance needed. Trans shifts great.
you are soooo DEEP.... i just bought a used 04 and i see it very differently now after your video. thank you!
This is definitely my favorite car review channel by far.
And yes I do know what you mean about the Toyota Smell. My mom has a 2010 Sienna so it’s very similar
These vans are bulletproof amazing vans
These are nice I actually prefer it over the 05 to 10 Odyssey

Did she survive the trip?🤔
Siennas are such cool vans
@The Sock Monkey! The best, in my opinion.
my family used have this car, it was lit, lasted us for like 10 years or so, and many trips but kept having issues and then we traded it in
What kind of issues?
@@joepearlzz8504 like a lot tire rotations issues, and of course the basic maintenance issues
@@AdvaithKumar doesn’t sound like issues, just normal normal maintenance and maybe bad cheap tires
Coincidentally, 2005 was the year I was born.
Wouldnt brag. I grew up in the 80s and life was much better back then. U r screwed.
@@lastwhtknight3002 It's mostly subjective, but okay. I don't feel screwed though.
Yikes this comment makes me feel old.
@@lastwhtknight3002 your right! I wish I was born in the 1900s
oh god another I’m a 80s 90s 2000s 2010s kid etc thing 🤦🏼♂️
Mine has 263000 miles. My aunt and uncle owned it for 12 years and drove it from Fairbanks
my 2006 fwd has 317k going strong best car ever !
Why is every one selecting/choosing the 2006 over to the 2005
I've been looking to get one and then put a lift kit on it.
I'm surprised a 2005 came with a cassette player. I thought they were out by the late 1990s. Even my mother's 2003 Corolla came with an in-dash CD player, but it might have been part of an option package.
My 2005 LE has cassette. I got an Onkyo cassette deck a few months back and recording songs to play in my Sienna is a lot of fun.
I Have one as a extra car, 160k miles and drives just like my 2018 rav4,
Súper awesome video
my family has own 7 different toyotas from this era and they all had THAT smell.
Which smell please
@ you need to sit in a old Toyota to know what i mean, it’s undescribable
Dude...what a review.
Cool review 👍🏾
Love your narrative.
car was indicating on the dashboard about over heating, radiator system and fans failing
Hey brother, I am in the market for a sienna and I was wondering if you could guide me in terms of what mileage I should be buying it at, immediate / future repairs, what year etc.
180,000 miles is not 'high miles'............ not for a Toyota.
I helped my brother's roommate buy a 2006 one with exactly that mileage, it's beat up but she does not care lol
Never figured out why the front end on these can be different.
Cómo enciende la pantalla trasera?, es que la no enciende pero es 2006
👍
This or odyssey
I would say this.. the odyssey doesn’t have AWD
@@jxmar_ AWD isn't always needed. If you live somewhere that hardly gets any rain or snow, FWD is fine.
But awd is fun
Sienna
The Sienna. The Odyssey had more transmission issues than the Sienna.
