@@dollardream1825 just recently this week and last week my car broke down completely dead can’t drive it on the road. I was stuck on the road. Call a tow truck to tow to the auto shop. Now my car has a massive leak in the oil gasket pan.
I have the sane Rav same year same color lol 168k miles. Very fun to drive, reliable, and just over all a very practical vehicle. I fucking love it it's my baby 🤣
I have a 2005 manual with the same engine, 173,000km. It's one of the most fun cars I've owned to drive in the winter, and mine doesnt rattle, however it does have lots of wind noise on the highway
UK just bought a high milage (130,000) Series 2 MTR 2006 2 litre VVTi 3door and 5 speed manual box and it’s like driving a new car mechanically. The MTR denotes a few extras like a electric roof, tinted rear glass, AC climate control etc. It has brand new Goodrich all terrain tyres which I have never had before. The only disappointment was no Bluetooth radio but in one of the little storage units I found a gadget called a Bluetooth FM transmitter. Brilliant bit of kit and allows my to use my phone and keep the original radio with steering wheel controls. This car is going to Spain and will be ideal for me and a little bit of driving down tracks to some hidden beaches with my kayak on the roof. I’ve seen early reviews that state the two back seats are small and no leg room which is not true but as I don’t use them They will come out and use the car like a two seater which gives you a big boot (trunk).
I have a late 2003 rav4 (2nd gen facelift, like this one) with a manual, and I bloody love it. I think these cars are awesome, and I don't ever want to get rid of mine.
I had a 2001 in this same colour. Awesome vehicle in the snow! transmission went in it unfortunately (ECM issue with service notice). But at that point my wife didn't trust the vehicle anymore. Wish I still had it! fun to drive, great in the snow, flexible and spacious interior, simple tech. If I could find another mint one cheap, I would buy again.
I have a 2005 that i purchased at 97,000 miles. It currently has 175,000 miles on it. This year from february till now , it has seen the mechanic every month. New brakes in april, shocks done in May, oil change after oil change and now im about to replace the evap canister and purge valve. Ive had this car for 8 years. Its time to find something else. The only issue is finding something the same size
I have Sport edition, 2005 2WD. I love how it drives. I'm thinking to buy a new one, but I'm having a hard time to find a suitable replacement. I think is nostalgy...maybe...or is just such a great car!!!
I think it would be beneficial to start making comparisons to a car closer to the class of whatever your driving. You always use Lamborghini and Porsche as an example but we all know it wouldn’t blow the doors off that. Change it up depending on what you’re driving. For this maybe use a modern compact suv or sedan as an example if you get what I mean. I’m really not trying to be an ass or anything just making suggestions because I love your vids and want you to get more views. Idk how you have so many subscribers but the views are so low.
I bought a really beat up Rav4 2gen like this one. The last guy was a morron and I knew I got cheap because there was a few things to fix. Bottomline, engine was running dry for a year as the genius manage to get the oil wrong. Easy enough fix, car is a beast. It was running for a full year without the new engine oil getting to the bottom of the engine! It easily access sand dunes shortcuts, mud roads, soft sand, wet grass. Its an amazing car for the price and year. Only regret is not getting one earlier, and maybe importing one from Europe where they have sunroof and a few sportyish plastics rs. I'll run with him until hidro cars are common.
Really enjoyed your review, i am an avid Rav fan..and a woman!! Just so you know I like them for me, not especially attracted to men with them, in fact I think its a womans car!! Lol! Absolutely the most reliable car around, my baby has never failed an mot and she 18! As far as squeaks and rattles go I think you just got a rattly one because mine has no rattles at all! Great car!! xx
You need to check your years on the 2.4 "for the rest of the world". I have serviced and repaired many 2000 -2005 2.4 second gen Rav4's. Also the rear seats move back and forth. when they are all the way back the is a lot of room.
Thanks for your review, my daughter is driving that exact same car yeae and color I gave to her. I'm rocking my 04 though even though it's a thigh fit for me at 6'3 but it's what my wallet could afford for now. She drives great 👍🏾
9:40 NOOOO DONT CLOSE THE DOOOR there's a bunch of storage places for small items like a first aid kit on the side pannels AND you get another 12v port so that makes it 3 inside the car xD also the rear seats can be completely removed out of the car making it almost like a small pickup truck!
Have a 2001 same as the 2005, rattle in back came from the rear right storage bin directly in line with the rear lights it was the wheel brace and tools smacking on the wheel well cured with a couple of foam wraparound pads. 83k kilometers goes all over Kenya hence the steering wheel is on the CORRECT SIDE. Wife two kids in back not a problem even though the 5yr old is in a child seat.
My mom had one of these when I was like 5 or 6 years old and she hated it lmao. My sister ended up getting rear ended when she was driving it and my mom got rid of it after a very short period of time. I was glad she got rid of it because I liked riding in her 2001 GMC Yukon XL way more 😆. She let that Yukon just sit there while she drove the RAV4 around to save gas
Hey man, when I was a senior in high school, I was driving my dad’s suburban all over hell and back exploring the southern half of California until 5am even on school nights... Not very smart of me tho 😆
Awesome, i've one 2005 here in Mexico, it have only 100,000 miles! and it's so good, mine's a L version with leather seats and sunroof! the space is... the best you can remove the rear seats easily, when i bought it all my colleagues said me "it's a lady car", hahaha without a 4x4 traction, is a good smooth offroad vehicle! and the best in our very damaged mexican roads, and the best in to the highway for long distances travels. I'll recommend it a lot! remember is a TOYOTA,
@@Aussiedavid71 the 2.4 isn't a very bad engine, but you have to change your oil every 6 months or 5,000 miles or the oil consumption will just get worse. BTW, do you have a video on the first gen?
