  • In this short video, I give my long term review of this awesome chronograph fleiger watch. The watch has an SW 500 Automatic movement, with 25 bearing jewels, running on 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour, with seconds stop function. The watch is also Anti-magnetic, and the case is made of stainless steel (SUG). The watch has a sapphire crystal glass in front, anti-reflective on both sides, the transparent case back is made of sapphire crystal glass, anti-reflective on the interior. The case back is screw-fastened, and also the crown is screwable. The watch meets the technical requirements for waterproofness, as set out in standard DIN 8310, with a pressure-resistant up to 10 bar, which is also Low-pressure resistant.
    Specs:
    Case diameter: 38,5 mm
    Band lug width: 20 mm
    Case thickness: 15 mm
    Weight without strap: 75 gram
    Copper electroplated guilloché dial
    Indices coated with luminescent color
    Hour, minute and stopwatch second hand coated with luminescent color
    Verdict:
    Definitely my favorite chronographs of all time (besides my grail of Patek 5960P), the dial is amazing, the movement is reliable and the watch is built to last. I fully recommend this watch to anyone who is interested in a dressier sports watch, and the 103 St Sa Chronograph for a more sporty one and larger size. The watch is perfect for small and medium-sized wrists like mine (6.2 inch, 16.7 cm)

    The SW500 is based on the ETA 7750 and is a unidirectional winder, it is winding normally, it's good.
    This is my favorite watch of yours, I love salmon dials I have three and this one really stands out. I think Sinn has a reputation of making very conservative, buttoned-down tool and dress watches but they have some really colorful and wild dials out there that a lot of people may not know about.

      Thank you for the info about the rotor, that makes me feel better for not taking it to a watch maker :D
      It is definitely one of my favorites, I would like to add maybe one more Salmon dial to my collection, but every time I look at the Sinn, I just feel that I only need one :D
      Totally agree, they are very conservatives, but their wild colored dials make their watches come to life, I especially like the 103 St G as well.

    Abdul! thank you for your earlier comment; I have two suggestions regarding the watch, demagnetize your watch and retest. The automatic watch operates in a bi-directional movement, the winding spring cannot be overwound, the spring has a butterfly configuration that will allow it to slip if wound to tight preventing breakage. I believe the auto winder is functioning properly. The fly wheel is made to move with the slightest movement in either direction.

      Thank you for watching and commenting John. Ahh ok, I thought the rotor action might be to smooth :D I will do that, I demagnetize and then retest again.

    You have to give it up to Sinn. Manage to do both style and function is hard.

      Hands down the best combination of both style and function. Sinn really delivered on this one.

    Ah, thank you for taking measurements! I've been thinking that the listed 15mm thickness is just a bit too thick on my small-ish wrists lol - but 14mm should be sorta large for me, but still fit me well. Thanks!

    I love this watch. Would love to see it in person before pulling the trigger though. Not many authorised dealers of Sinn in the UK so it might be a struggle. The dial colour varies drastically in photo’s, from bright and pale to a darker copper colour.

      I totally recommend the watch James, you will definitely be positively surprised.
      You are totally right, as each batch of dials have different tone of salmon, as they are made out of bronze, so the react differently due to various conditions, that is why you will find variations from the same watch.

    When i look at the regulator im sure this is a eta 7750. SW500 use a screw regulator. Thanks for the review, this is a great timepiece.

    • @AbdulRWatches
      @AbdulRWatches  3 года назад +2

      Yes, it might very well be. They made the early ones with 7750, but later all they used were the SW500. The Rotor movement gives the impression that it is a SW500. Thank you very 😁 its definitely a keeper 🙏

    Thanks or sharing this great (and rare!) watch. Not easy to get now - Sinn out of stock. As another has said below, the free spin of the rotor isn't a problem, just a sign of the very efficient unidirectional winding of the brilliant Valjoux 7750 (or Selita 500) movement. While the rotor spins both ways, it only winds one way. As the bearings free up from use the rotor will spin very easily and can be felt on the wrist. If it stops winding that is a bad sign as bearing wear can destabilise the heavy rotor and shear the transfer gears. I wouldn't see the need for Sinn to service it, any decent watchmaker should be able to service a 7750.

    • @AbdulRWatches
      @AbdulRWatches  2 года назад +1

      Thanks James so much for the kind words and the information. I actually took it to my watch maker and he said the same thing that the movement is working perfectly fine and this is a normal thing for that Valjoux. Definitely the Salmon dial makes it even more special.

      Agree, it is a fantastic watch for the money. I think the Salmon dial is just perfect for this watch.

      Thanks Ajushi for the tip, I think this one has a Valjoux 7750, as per what my watchmaker says.
      But I will keep that in mind, the next time I have a SW-500 on the timegrapher :D

    Is this a real salmon dial , asking because the Sinn website describes the dial as copper electroplated guilloche dial ??

    • @AbdulRWatches
      @AbdulRWatches  3 года назад +2

      Yes, the color is salmon, but the material of the dial is copper, as such each dial is different, but they all are salmon at the end of the day.
