Especially when you know his story a poor Israeli kid and son of a Holocaust survivor movies to the States when he 8 doesn't speak English and becomes a member of one of the BEST rock bands to ever do it
Kiss's manager kept the band afloat with his own credit cards from 1973 til the Alive album started selling
Except from every record company KISS were signed with when it came to recording fees of their studio albums in their early years. Nowadays, Gene and Paul can probably pay for the costs of whatever albums they make from their own pockets.
This is why I love Gene Simmons. He says follow dream but you have to work hard to get there and don’t expect financial help from anyone.

I met celebrities and so has my girlfriend. They all were great and nice people. This is what happens to guys like Kris who make being famous their one and only goal in life.

Simmons is one of those people who probably would have worked his way to some kind of success , if not fame , even if he hadn't done so well for himself in the music business
That's the thing, though. Gene Simmons looked at the music industry as strictly business. I believe that's the driving force behind Kiss's success. Gene is a very intelligent and motivated individual. His back story is mind boggling.

Ah, my late older brother: He spent most of his life without a job. He was a professional musician, and technically a failed rock star; AND-he was once invited by Gene Simmons to audition for him (when Ace Frehley originally left 'KISS' in the early 80s). He didn't get the job (obviously, for it went to Vinnie Vincent). True story! I'm trying to remember if he ever held a day job in his life.
God rest his soul. Hope he led an otherwise happy and fulfilling life, even if he never hit it big

Back in '70-'71, he was a guitarist in The Buddy Miles Band-with whom he live shows with Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and Janis Joplin, who are all mentioned in this song. He was also at Jimi Hendrix's funeral. It wasn't until after his death that I discovered that he had auditioned for KISS! Hmm.
