These conditions have always existed. it is called international borders, it is sad, but she is very lucky, she is still in the USA, and she has a career, and her family I'm sure developed assets to give the daughter or take back to Colombia. They took a chance and they are better of for it, it takes money to get to the USA, and many go back richer, and some manage to get back before they get caught and start a legal process. I hope she also goes to Colombia, its a pretty country. that she should try to know. she can go back and forth and enjoy the best of two countries.
