  • @michaelkaduck1915

    One of the scariest moments in the game. It was this moment that first showed the Galactic Federation as being untrustworthy. Since the destruction of the Space Pirates, they've become more expansionist, more power-hungry. Like all empires, they use the same methods as their enemies in the name of peace.
    Before Adam regains his consciousness and helps Samus, his limitations as an AI mean he is programmed to script everything the Federation says about their justification for cloning Metroids. Then, after defeating the X-Parasite Clone of Ridley, Adam again tells Samus that keeping the X Parasite as a weapon will be in the name of peace.
    If the X or the Metroids were cloned, the Federation and all galactic civilization would die. Even if the Federation could control the Metroids and the X, would they use it for peaceful applications? Likely not. They'd likely use them as weapons to subjugate anyone who opposes them.
    In Dread, we see clearly an alive Chozo. A little known bit of lore is that the Chozo created the Federation, and that the humans later took most power following the coup among the Chozo we see in the Memories in Samus Returns. I have a feeling this Chozo has been working with greedy individuals inside the federation to take more power using the Metroids and the X.

      It seems like the series follows the theme of trying to throw off power balances by taking advantage of nature, only to have those very forces to fight back (and sometimes aid Samus in restoring that balance)

      the X may be able to absorb knoledge and power but they cant mimick true consciousness, and are still heavily weighted by their hive-mind survival instinct, including how they face predators. even when they have weapons designed to destroy their predator they seemingly tunnel vision and panic too much when facing them, and instead get outmatched.
      also i believe they cant mimick too 1 to 1 all that is known by its victim, the SA-X even though it had all of Samus abilities and knoledge at its disposal didnt make use of them near the same effectiveness as samus did, so once samus was no longer outgunned and outresourced by its clones, it was able to dispose of it directly without too much trouble. even when face to face with an Omega Metroid and having the means to destroy it and knowing it, they didnt knew how to fight it nor how trully capable the Omega was, as it easily just swatted the SA-X into its core very easily.

    It's neat how it really doesn't look like the SA-X is aiming for the Metroids. • @eddwithsauce525
    @eddwithsauce525 Год назад +3

    I just realized something...
    The SA-X clearly had the knowledge on how to kill a metroid, yet it chose to absolutely wreck the laboratory.
    It knew that damaging the laboratory would detach it and make it self-destruct. It went out of its way of killing nearly all the metroids including itself to ensure its species' survival.
    Where would the SA-X know that the laboratory does that? In Metroid Other M, Samus witnessed Adam destroy Sector 0 containing Metroids from the inside which also caused it to detach and self-destruct. Even before Other M's release, it looks like Nintendo went out of their way to retrace their breadcrumbs.

      You know what’s absolutely wild about this? I’ve played fusion HUNDREDS OF TIMES, even tried searching through the code,
      But I distinctly remember when I first played it as a kid, doing the self destruct of the bsl early, and crash Landing on sr388 but the planet doesn’t explode, and instead it cuts to a sequence of samus exploring it but with the sa-x all roaming the planet etc, then it cuts to black basically signaling a sequel,
      But I have no idea how It happened, I even read about it on a guide website activating the self destruct earlier than intended but it never worked in game, even with cheats, and when I replayed it after being prime 2 in 2008 it was completely different and I searched for hours into what I did differently and found nothing.
      I’ve come to the conclusion now that it might’ve been a dream, but the problem with that is fusion was the first game I ever played of Metroid, back in 2006, so I would have never seen sr388. I still have no idea what happened. And idk how I knew about sr388 or anything tbh.
