When I try to replace my realm with another world I get an error “An error occurred”. How did you get yours to work on the first try?

Usually an Internet connection issue. If it repeatedly happens, restart your PC, try 3 times and if it still doesn't work, restart your WiFi.
Usually what works for me (PS4) is to replace world, let it tell me an error happened, then restore the backup from 1 min ago and it will be the new world. Works every time I've tried.

Thanks Foxy, I was thinking that this would be the way to do it. I'll keep hunting around to see if I can hack and slash my way into enabling experimental features in some other way, else I'll just download my world and do the config here and just re-upload it. Cheers!
Edit: Got tired of trying to do it my way, and just imported and exported the world. All good and working.
I just wanted to say I really appreciate this video and your reply to a few other comments regarding 1.20 bedrock add-ons for realms. I was running into an issue starting a realm with add-ons that require experimental features. My daughter was really looking forward to her first Minecraft playthrough so I wanted to include some neat add-ons.
-Created realm and loaded in
-Downloaded realm, enabled experimental features, and loaded desired add-ons
-Didn't use export, selected the Play on Realms (these might do the same exact thing)
-Loaded in with no issues as of 1.20 with add-ons requiring experimental features

Can't we use the mob heads on villagers using dispenser? I tired but it just drops as entities i am on single player

When I try to do this on a realm it always bugs out and tells me there was an error. Every time. Did they block us from using experiments on our paid Realms?

URGENT! This method works as of the time I am posting this video and it worked with my realm that is 623mbs. It took a bit to initialize the world since it was so big but it worked. No I can use FUN addons on realms HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA evil laugh.

I’m having issues applying these to realms. I play on an iPad Pro and the experimental and standard resource packs both work on my world but if I apply them to my realm I get an error message that states “some of the selected content could not be applied”
change de UUID of that packs

@@ShiroCh_ID I’ve never heard of UUID until your comment. A brief search online has me understanding I would edit the manifest.json and replace the UUID with a newly generated one. Can you confirm if I’ve understood correctly?

Do I need to do the server step for it to work in realms? Cause if I make a single player experimental world, it doesn’t load the packs up to the realm.

What if u already made some progress on the server and u dont wanna change anything other than to turn on expiremental features?
Nvm I figured it out, just copy the level.dat of a expiremental world then paste it to your server no need for the other.

What happens when experimental features are no longer experimental? Would resources that rely on them and worlds that include them no longer work or would they integrate into the updates?
You would hope that once they come out of experimental, they'll work like normal. However these are experimental features and shouldn't be relied on as they're subject to change by Mojang at any time.
When I try to make the server I can't even connect to it. When I try to make the realm it just doesn't let me have experiments OR behavior and resource packs.
Hi! I've been trying to get this to work for a little while now using an experimental add-on I created, but whenever I load into the Realm, my custom items appear corrupted (with no texture, duplicate items, appearing in weird spots in the Creative inventory). Does this still work in 1.20, and if so, what am I doing wrong?

Realms are buggy. Contact mojang support if you're having trouble uploading your world
there is another way to edit something to enable the experimental mod on server folder? I don't have minecraft for PC, I use the dedicated server to play mods on ps5, so I can't enable experimental mode direct on minecraft

Yes, providing you enable the experimental features in single player and then move the world to the server or realm.
how do i add experiments to an existing servers world file?

Your title is very misleading, you are not able to enable experimental on Minecraft official realms, they are hosted on Minecraft servers which have locked admin controls for the player paying for the realm. This is for a home server, where you have full admin control of the server.

Probably don't want to use it on existing worlds especially since it changes the world to create and overwrites your world with a new world.
Unless you have and copy the files from your old world to a new directory, then add the mods in and save that a local copy of the world to then overwrite your realm while saving a local original backup without the mods.

Foxy in my world the markers + custom armor stand is glitched.
Markers only show fps, day counter, tick not anything else.
If you’re playing on iOS or Android there is a separate pack that works better. I had some issues with the combo pack but saw the mobile option under experimental and resource pack pages
did not work did it idk how many times this is rubbish they should make it to where you can turn on experimental features in realms in the first place but no we can't have nice things
why cant i find the appdata folder
So.... I have a Realm on Bedrock, and was looking into a mod that says it requires "holiday creators" to be turned on. I clicked the pencil icon on my realm, clicked on edit world, and realized that there isnt a "holiday creator" option anywhere to be found. How can i toggle that on when its not in the menu to click on? Thank you for all that you do!
ok update to my question: Just found out that Realms actually doesn't allow experimental features at all. Any and all mods that require any such allowances, aren't able to be used on a realm server.
They do. You just have to enable them on the world before you upload it to the realm

Download the realm. Enable experiments on it then upload it again

You can't. You have to do it through the main game.
@@foxynotail I tried copying the world from BDS to Minecraft, then changed the settings there (without opening the world), then put it back to BDS. It worked.
